DDD's Proud Mode Actually Hard?

Posted

Been hearing this a lot lately, though considering how many people on this site go around saying 'OMG KH2 Beginner Mode so hard!' I'll take it as a grain of salt.

But it's pretty cool if it's true, as long as the difficulty isn't cheap.

Critical Mode will be interesting...

NUFF SAID.

But also....all I'm going to say...Sora's boss for the second visit to Traverse town...

this game is supposed to be the harder out of the series

I don't think anyone considers KH2 Beginner Mode to be hard; unless its your first game ever and you're five. . .

I can tell by your psot count that you're new here. You'd be surprised how many people find KH to be immensely difficult.

I've been here for two years . . . just don't post much. KHI I can see people thinking is difficult but, really, KHII? People must just be trolling. Unless the people who complain are those that purposefully try and not fight any heartless . . . and then its their own fault. If you have difficulty, its because you haven't trained whereas with KHI and KHBBS its hard because the bosses can be hard sometimes.

Speaking of KHI, a friend of mine (four years ago) couldn't get past the Agrabah pot-spider thing but he had no difficulties whatsoever with KHII, so yeah. But whatever . . .maybe years ago it was different since we were all five years younger, less co-ordinated etc.

Some people just suck.

Well, it was difficult. But then I found out how to actually get better abilities. I was pretty much stuck with no Leaf Bracer, Second Chance or Once More til the end of the game.

I finished the game in proud mode in 2 days... (( got the game the day it was released

I would say that it isn't terribly hard, but it's like something around the critical mode of KH2 http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

However, I tried the game in critical mode, and it was nearly impossible to play without dying...

You will die within 3 - 4 hits from some non-boss dream eaters... (( most dream eaters will hit with consecutive attacks

But, it is still playable :P

Is this at level 1, or just playing normally?

Oh hey, how does the ability system work in this game? Is it like BBS? Or something else entirely.

KH2 = Easiest game ever

The only thing with moderate dificulty is Sephiroth

Playing normally, I found Proud mode to be quite easy, but I've been playing on Critical from the get go ever since 2 FM+, so my opinion on the difficulty of proud may be biased. Only died a couple of times, and boss battles didn't feel too challenging unless I was underleveled (when I was though they were really really fun, and quite difficult)

I heard there's level scaling in this game, so that might contribute to the difficulty.

He was half joking, obviously >_>

And I wasn't?

KH2 being difficult? Lolwut? Even Sephiroth was a pushover. But like it was said, some people just have difficulties. Sucks for them :P

I'm going for story mostly when i play KH, so if I don't die as much that's a plus. So I usually run Standard first time through, then see what Proud has to offer. Maybe I'll just go right into proud for DDD, we shall see...

I think it's tough sometimes. I'm pretty bad at KH so I died a lot on bosses like Sephiroth (normal mode) but that doesn't mean I can't complete the story, my real reason for playing.

Well, Abilities come under 3 categories: Status, Support and Breed.

Status abilities include HP Up, Atk Up, Def Up, Fire Guard, Ice Up and Defender

Support abilities include EXP Chance, Once More, Second Chance and Combo Ups.

Breed abilities help with your Spirits. They include Support up, Link Critical and Dream Live ( Once More for Dream Eaters ).

All abilities are gained through your Spirits. You cannot permanently learn status abilities. Only the abilities on the Spirits you have on your team are equipped.

Say, I have WonderNyan on my party and it learned HP UP and Item Up for Status abilities, I only have those abilities equipped. So when it is off my party, I lose those abilities.

But on the Ability Link board, if I learnt a Support or Breed ability (Red/Purple) , then it will be forever equipped, whether it is on my party or not.

I thought it was a huge disadvantage but it makes the gameplay more strategic. Plus, we get to play with all the Spirits!

Hoped this helped!

And I wasn't?

Somehow I doubt it. He was just stating that he knows people here can be inexperienced, so he'll take it with a grain of salt.

But if you were...sorry, ehehe.

usually i play the KH games on normal mood. i tried the DDD now on proud and i have to say it is not that hard! it is a bit difficult but you can manage it if level up by killing some nightmares ans playing wih your spirites ^__-

Cyberman65 on YT is really good at proud mode, he beat the first boss without dying or takign damage as riku and sora, 2nd boss he didnt die as sora or get hit, but he did get hit 2 times as riku for the 2nd boss

edit:he also is insanely good at jumping around, it looks liek so much fun =D
