i dont think her bending will be taken, i mean what would be the point in the avatar that cant bend, she probly gets rescued or finds out her bending cant be taken. big fan of this new mini series! just wish it could be longer >.<

They're Chi-Blockers, so yes, they can take away people's bending, like Aang did with Ozai.

However Korra obviously maintains her bending.

This is the third episode.

Well I don't think Korra's bending is going to be taken away that easily, first off she's the avatar what would be the point of that? Second why would they take her bending away in the next episode? It just seems too early for something like that to happen.

And Aang took Ozai's bending away through Chi Blocking? I thought Ty Lee was the only Chi blocker in The Last Airbender anyways it makes sense ;p

YES!!!! 30 minutes is not long enough :/

Isn't this from avatar the last air bender?

(none benders can't do that!!)

@^: Nobody has achieved anything like that in the avatar world until now. The only one that managed to do something similar was Avatar Aang who energybent Firelord Ozai and took his bending away. What Amon did was chi-blocking which is somewhat similar but isn't really the same thing. In the episode where Aang meets with the guru who teaches him about the chi he teaches him about the seven different gates to unlock the ability to control the avatar state, and if anything Amon is targeting those gates and sealing them. Amon's technique is different from Aang's, and I do not believe (until proven otherwise) that it is able to have a permanent effect on a bender like Aang's technique. If anything Amon blocked the 7th gate which thus blocks all other gates from functioning which gives the illusion that the bender can't bend anymore.

So basically I think Amon is an insane liar and doesn't truly take it away.

Also Korra's bending wouldn't get taken away in the next episode because Amon says something along the lines of, "I'm saving you for last." He's only capturing her to make her afraid of him, if anything.

she gonna activate her avatar state becasue ussally ang wouuld do that in a super tight spot

It's not really a mini series anymore, it's a normal series. Especially since it's already been given a second season of like 14 episodes or something, and the first one will be 12 episodes or something like that. But that's why it was pushed back, because it was normally supposed to air last November, but it was pushed back so they could do work on the second season and have that set before they aired it.

Wait, remember when Aang was shot in the back by Azula, he said that shock blocked his 7th chakra preventing him from going into the Avatar State, yet he could still bend?

Uh-oh, not good. That's all I can think of saying.

Maybe Amon takes away one of her bending abilities?

Maybe it only cancels them out for a short while. Like squeezing a hose so that the water stops flowing until you let go.

I'm with Kaiso that it's not the same as what Aang did (or else there would have been the freakish light show and all) but has the effect of a permanent chi block. Personally, I think it would be an awesome twist if Korra lost her bending, but I doubt it would happen. I do believe Amon wasn't lying when he said the spirits gave him this ability. I think Korra is taking the wrong direction by using force against Amon. She should master airbending, get in touch with the spirit world and find the spirits that are responsible. That would be a better way to stop Amon from taking away others bending (and I want Korra to meet Aang x3).

Anyways, I am so impressed by this season so far. It's so cool to see how these rare techniques in the first series are now being used in common practice in this industrial city. And I love the darker tone it's taking. Looks like this will be another box set I'll have to buy (proud owner of all the Avatar seasons).

ah, i ment the series itself, its only pronounced to be 15 episodes long >.>

I doubt they'd permanently take away Korra's bending. The series would be pointless if the avatar couldn't bend.

I think that the condition is permanent but can be repaired somehow. Amon simply broke the flow of Chi, thus turning off the bending. Think of it like an electric circuit. Cutting the wire will stop the flow of electricity. However, the wire can be repaired and the electricity will flow once more.

Also, anyone else notice that Amon's henchmen have a fighting style similar to that of Ty Lee (the circus girl from the original series)? I have a feeling that Ty Lee herself, or more likely one of her children are connected to this somehow.

Overall I think the series is good so far. You can tell the creators definitely accounted for the fact that the original audience has gotten much older since "The Last Airbender" was released due to the older protagonist and much darker subject matter.

Nah, they don't seem that good. Why would they protest to people (to get members) if they could just take away bending? Maybe like Ty Lee, who could stop the body. The only ones who know Energy bending anymore are Aang (who's dead) and the lionturtles. And I doubt they told it to Amon and that crap.

Why would they protest to people (to get members) if they could just take away bending?

Because only one of them has the ability to take away bending. They need members to bring benders to Amon so that he can take the bender's bending away without having to hunt them down.
