This is something that bugs me about the English release date. I have no problem getting it last, but waiting two weeks is just strange.

Why? Because in order to release the European version, the English version already has to be done (As well as text translations for other European languages, right? Sorry, I don't actually know how KH is handled elsewhere)

The releases should only be a few days apart. Not two weeks.

So what is the reasoning behind this? That's far from enough time for extra content, and just arbitrarily getting part of the world to wait longer for your game just means you'll get that much less business (I mean, people will have eleven days to spoil the English game now, won't they? That's a lot of potential lost sales)

It just seems like a strange decision on Square's part. If anybody has clarification, it'd be appreciated.

well maybe our kingdom hearts 3d will have extra stuff that the others didnt get like birth by sleep we got 2 additional bosses and that sticker book then they made birth by sleep final mix to get it so maybe we will have something they dont have on the game

that only applies for differences between the English and Japanese releases. the US and EU releases both have the same content. plus, 2 weeks is nowhere enough time to program something like that completely.

That would be all well and good if Nintendo was pblishing the game, but this is all on square Enix in this case...

 

And I thought somebody would bring this up (Though you didn't directly)

KH3D being released a little early is NOT repayment for Europe getting late/not getting old games.

Im thinking it is due to censorship / rating differences ..but ya never know . It doesnt make a lot of sense

The only thing I can think of, is that it might be related to cencorship. Honestly I don't think we'll ever know, so anyones guess is just as good as mine. But bc of that whole rating change that we saw, where it went from fantasy violence and suggestive themes to just the fantasy violence, leads me to believe that they've cencored something.

 

Perhaps once it's released we might get some answers.

I am sorry but whats the problem with it being 2 weeks?, EU in the past (i know i am in the UK) sometimes haven't gotten games for like a year after NA release (dragon quest VIII for example) just be happy its 2 weeks difference, no ifs, no buts, i'd be just as happy if it was the opposite way around.as at least we are getting the game.

 

Unlike RE:chain or memories (not that it matters to me cause i have the GBA and jap version) but still, be happy your even getting it.

I think you are missing the point ..Most of us dont mind EU getting it first but dont get why NA gets it 11 days later when logically localization /translations should be already done for both areas. Why cant they release it all at the same time ? Thats what most are wondering .Im sure in the past EU wondered the same thing .

Lol, yeah i kinda did miss it, but yeah i am sure we thought the same thing also, but ive seen comments after comments saying things like its unfair etc (not in this) while i think they should have released them in the same day or something or one or two days difference (like LoZ:SS) they didn't, but the fact that EU gets it first, people go on a uproar, but in past we sat, and had to wait without complaining lol (not always the case though but still)

Im pretty sure it is censorship though.. NA can be rediculous with that sometimes..I think its much more likely than SE trying to make it up to EU..They dont even care that international fans get unfairly snubbed with final mixes..

Fact was, US and EU were the ones who started this uproar (by adding septiroth in KH1), since japan didn't get it, then japan made final mixes, its our fault the FMs didn't come over here , plus tbh, its marketing strategy. i bought it as soon as i found out it came out, even though it was Japanese

LOL what ? SE makes these decisions.. Fans have no control over this therefore it cant be our fault .. They decide what gets put in and released. Instead of releasing one version to Japan then adding stuff to international releases they should just release the same thing everywhere... The exact same thing with special bundles and ultimanias..None of this is released internationally..This is purely SE .

YEAH, and i wouldn't need to look up a walkthrough for KH1 FM just to check what abilitys i gain at each level, as the abilitys aren't so easy to figure out, unlike KH2 FM where they are easier

11 days isn't that much. I understand that you'd feel unhappy because of potential spoilers floating around - but I, for one, won't spoil anything for anyone. And if you're a respectful KH fan, you won't spoil anything for those who are trying to avoid the spoilers either.
