When Riku transforms into ASoD in 358 his voice changes to match his appearance but in KHII when he meets up with Sora and Kairi his voice switches back to Riku. So what is Riku, like, a really dedicated cost-play or is it something else, I don't understand his reasoning for sounding like ASoD.

I don't know. lol I'm assuming that he can control his voice. I would guess that if he didn't want people to know who he actually was, he would try his best to hide it. That would include his voice.

maybe the riku grew more and went through changes like what he did with his hair.

Also the actor's voice couldve gotten deeper as well.

I got the impression that he can control when he wants to change his voice whenever he took on Ansem SoD's form. If he wants you to know it's him, he'll speak in his natural voice, if he doesn't want you to know he's Riku, he'll take on Ansem's voice. owo;

Sort of like, how when Ansem SOD possessed Riku he alternated between Riku's voice and his voice echoing behind Riku's voice.

I'm think that after Riku transformed into Ansem his voice changed too, but once someone realizes it's Riku they can hear the real him while others who don't know the truth about him would still hear Ansem's voice.

Riku transformed himself into Ansem so he changed everything... Except in KH2 which is really strange...

I think that it was symbolic -- Sora knew it was Riku so Sora heard the voice as Riku's rather than Ansem's. Before Sora knew it was Riku then he still talked in the Ansem voice. And they probably just showed the audio from Sora's point of view to keep it simple... much like how in 358 Days / 2 then Xion was always shown from Roxas's point of view except in the few scenes where they showed her as she appeared to other people. In other words, I don't think Riku is talking in seperate voices at all... I think he always talks in the Ansem voice but Sora just heard him as Riku.

At the point where he used the voice he had just started using the darkness, so maybe later he can use his voice because he has better control over the darkness.

When Sora saw he was Riku, Sora heard Riku's voice instead of Ansem's, which made us hear Riku too.

Well he was Ansem the Heartless for a good few weeks maybe he didn't know he could use his real voice till later.

i think in days it symbolizes his transforming into Ansem and in kh2 it symbolizes his revelation being Riku.

I think it's also worth noting that Riku as Ansem the Heartless' voice makes me moist!
