I've heard of this region block about the 3DS, but I don't really know what it is, since I don't actually own a 3DS (yet)... i'd like to know as much as possible about the 3DS, since I intend to buy one to play the Kingdom Hearts 3D, so can you guys give as much information about the video game you can? I'd really appreciate it!

Not sure I can explain much... but region lock prevents you from playing imports is the short description.

Region lock makes it so your 3Ds' region has to match the game's region. If you have an American 3Ds you can't play a game card that isn't from America. So like if you got a game from Japan your 3Ds will pretty much be "me no gusta" and not play it http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-neutral.png

I think there is some kind of chip in the 3DS that prevents it from playing a certain format. Like North America has NTSC and Europe has PAL. So yeah, it wouldn't be good for you to buy imports to play on your 3DS.

Pretty much what they said.

If u had American 3DS u can only play American games, if u had Europe 3DS you can only play Europe games and so on.

Buy a 3ds American,is better.

Pretty much what they said.

You wanna know all about the 3DS? I'm gonna sum up everything about the 3DS in one word: EPIC.

It means exactly what it says. You can't play games from other regions. In less technical terms a 3DS from North America can't play Japanese or European games.

Wow, that aspect of the 3DS pretty much... sucks. So if I buy one from another country it won't work in mine?

I would have to buy games from NA? Can you give me any advice for that?

Actually, it has a language changer, can't you use that?

For example:

Buy EURO 3DS + EERUO 3DS games + change language = Gold

But I prefer buying it from where you live anyways.

I would only buy a NA 3DS if you live in NA. If you don't live there, for instance you live in EU, I should probably buy a European 3DS. And don't worry, they're all the same quality.

I live in Brasil, so does the NA region block apply to my country? It would take some unknown time for Kingdom Hearts 3D to be available here... language is not a problem, I can speak or read English just fine, different than japanese.
