Anyone Else Feel Like Moves Have Gotten TOO Over the Top?

In my final hours of playing DDD, it became increasingly apparent to men, anyways.

Playable characters have really cool looking, flashy moves, but even the most basic ones have a massive cooldown, because the animations are so elaborate.

Meanwhile enemies seem to have ridiculously fast, anime style attacks, with no tells. This makes strategy into more of a meta game, where you guard before ANYTHING happens in anticipation of an attack.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but it's my only major complaint about the game, and I personally want more control of my characters. As is, I don't feel responsible when my character dies. It's almost always at the hand of some ridiculously fast move that happens during the lag time of another move, so I can't do anything about it.

In DDD specifically

 

I got hit after using thunder dive (Or whatever it's called) during the Ansem fight. That in itself isn't a big deal, but then Ansem immediately used his charging move, and kept turning on a dime, to hit me during my getting hit animation, until I eventually died

 

To me, this is bad game design. Why should I die simply because I can't control my character?

Yeah or else it will be one big lag.

The cool down is just aneurism inducing, especially since the enemies have almost no flinch time (Julius you chidori using ash-hole), so during the cool down, BOOM, down to 1 hp. Also the fact that if you use a command (like cure) and you get hit before the animation finishes, it doesn't activate, and its a pain when you're frantically running away, waiting for cura to re-charge (before I learned my lesson and put 2 cures on), that's a big cause of deaths to regular enemies for me *coughryudragoncough*. Aside from that I liked 3D. :D

Yeah. This bothers me a lot. It's seemingly entirely random whether an enemy will flinch.

Sometimes when I attacked him, he'd randomly flinch, and I'd have a huge opening... other times he'd just attack in the middle of mine, and score a tonne of hits

But KH2 was ridiculously easy, and every flashy move had invincibility frames.

Now they've basically cranked it up to eleven, but taken out the invincibility frames.

Yeah. Stupid Ballon and its other forms. And Spark, so silly.

 

But otherwise I like most of them =)

Sounds similar to something which bother me about Anti Black Coat. First when he performs a certain attack it comes so fast you barely have a chance to block or dodge it, but that's not the big issue here. During that attack where he hits you up in the air and drains you for all your HP, you have no chance of surviving if he already stands beneath you ready to attack once you fall down.

I never really had a problem with that until

 

 

I got to Young Xehanort. He rarely flinshes, inflicts Slow, can attack from any distance, and basically teleports away right before you hit him with anything. Hell, I had to learn Dark Barrier just to be able to block his attacks since they come from all directions at once.

 

 

The new flair is appreciated, but in the end you'll always suffer to a degree.

i liked Spark >:U just pretty much what everyone's saying:Y U KILL ME SO GAME! i cnt even finish Riku's Monstro Iceguin Ace portal because i was a tad bit underleveled and i didnt ever use my Dream Eater AR Cards,if thats even relative to this post anymore xD

I only understood part of that.

 

I enjoy the Spark animaion, it just takes too long and you are to vunerable. The balloon move is useful, but too long and I don't like it.

 

Its my opinion. I don't understand if you are angry at me. I can't understand your post.

oops,i keep forgetting to turn off Internet Speek,i meant to say "I liked Spark >:U,but pretty much what everyone else is saying 'why's flashy stuff make me die?D:' and i couldnt even finish Riku's Monstro Link Portal because i was a tad underleveled and didnt really use Dream Eaters that much,if this is even relative to the point :P" hope that helped xD

Huh? Baloonga is AMAZING. It recharges fast. Has a fast animation. Deals tonnes of damage. Breaks guards.

I guess saying that it takes too long was an uneducated comment.

I have better moves than Balloon and Balloonga.

I don't really understand what it does so I feel like it doesn't do much.

Maybe I don't like it because I used it so much in the demo and for some reason didn't like it then either.

I want to answer properly but I can't. Sorry.

 

I think I'll go equip it now and see what I think and let you know =)
