Now, this is a piece of old news. I'm aware of that. What I'm also aware of is that no one has bothered (on this site, anyway. I checked.) to give their thoughts on this. So, since I'm in an anime mood right now, I figured I'd give this topic its own thread.

 

Now, first off, I'm excited for this. I never got into SM when it was on Toonami. I watched a few episodes, but that was it. I don't even remember what arcs were being played out in them. I also happen to own a grand total of ONE VHS of the series. So yeah...not too familiar with this anime. But, I've read that this new series is going to be friendly to both Sailor Moon loyalists and n00bs alike, so I can get a second chance at watching this series in 2013 standards. YAY!

 

Of course, I'm sure they're other people looking forward to this series. If you are, let me know down in the replies.

I was going to say this was old.I loved Sailor Moon when it first aired. Now, I just have no opinion on it.

Sailormoon was the 3rd anime i ever watched!! I even have a Sailor Saturn shirt... so this SOUNDS REALLY AWESOME!

I loved Sailor Moon to death when I was 6! My parents didn't really like me watching it, so I'd always watch it at my grandma's house after school. Looking forward to the new show!

Pretty much forgot about the plot - but if memory serves right than it was way better than Wedding Peach (omg, I hate that show, burn the witches!)

As a man who grew up during the time when anime was just starting to become popular in the US. I'm not ashamed to admit that I am super exited about this news! It's said that this adaptation will stick closer to the original Manga than the first anime. That means it will be very different from the one 90's kinds grew up with. I'm guessing this means no Rainbow Crystal ark, and that certain characters (like Rei/Raye and her grandfather) whose personalities or appearances were greatly altered in the anime will be shown as originally intended. And hopefully if it's dubbed it will not go through the editing/censorship nightmare that the 90's version had to endure.

 

I know that it's based closer to the manga which came out in the 90's and even the 2011 reprints completely ignored Pluto's change in status, but I still kinda feel bad for Setsuna/Sailor Pluto. It's like "Your ruling body isn't good enough to be a planet anymore, so you can't be a part of our team anymore." Can you imagine if the sailor Senshi actually said that to her!?

I haven't heard about Sailor Moon in AGES.

 

Last time I watched it was when I was 9 years old (Out of pure boredom).
