Lol, don't listen to this, it's complete bullshit. I asked my doctor about this cause I was freaked out (about a year ago) and he laughed at it.

i dont think this would be true. sure sitting is bad, but just excrsise and walk and run and stuff. Duh!

On a more serious note, I sit nearly every waking hour of my life. Basically, if I'm not sitting I'm sleeping, yet I only weigh 118lbs. Not obese by a long shot.

My whole family should be dead, then. (We don't really sit for that long though...)

I'm no doctor, but I'd be willing to bet at least some of this is true. Which sucks, really, because sitting is required for a good 70% of my hobbies and interests. /hasnolife

98lbs and I am sitting mostly all the time.

This is really more about obesity. Youre more likely to be obese if you have a lower activity level, but if you eat properly youll still be fine. I hate when people use these studies and say, "Oh, this must mean sitting causes obesity." No, that is the wrong conclusion. Lower activities and obesity has a positive correlation. However, there are probably many many other factors that contribute to poor health these percentages arent able to calculate.

 

Not to deter from exercise, but do it for the right reasons. Dont do it because some image on the internet said you would die if you dont.

And I don't care if sitting kills me. After work, standing would kill me. I might as well die in luxury...

Bullshit, I'm either sitting or lying down for almost the entire day with only 2 hours of exercise a day. I'm more fit than the classmates that exercise half the day.
