(Spoilers) Question about Sora

Posted

So, why did he even fail the MOM? I understand that he chased after the dreams of Riku, Kairi, Terra, and Aqua but he thought the Organization was putting stuff into his head. So when Riku kept calling out to him, maybe he didn't hear it or thought it was a trick. I just don't get why being used by YX against his will counts as him giving in to the darkness. It wasn't his own free will.

YX using him as he gave in to the darkness IS the problem. He was duped too easily and fell to the darkness, easily. Riku was somehow (to YX) immune to the darkness. That's why Riku didnt fail. If this was KH1 and they did the MoM it would've been the other way around.

They didn't want to let us play as Keyblade Master Sora in KH3.

But that's Sora. He was always duped too easily because, as Ansem the Wise put it, he sees the good in people. I realize he wouldn't be a good Master because he never had any encounters with Darkness, but he obviously has a part of Vanitas in his heart since he has Ven. I just think that it was a bit harsh on Sora. Granted, they almost lost the most powerful Keyblade Wielder before this game, so I'd imagine Yen Sid was a bit pissed.

Yen Sid states why after they return. Also, the game is about Riku.

He didn't fail, Yen side just decided to make Riku a master

If I'm not mistaken, Nomura said in an interview that the MoM exam didn't have to have one person winning and one person losing, like Terra's and Aqua's. It seems to be just coincidence that only one person has won each time. So Riku being a Master over Sora can't be the answer.

Maybe it was Nomura's way of separating Riku from Sora. Having Riku in a position as a Master would have him doing his own agenda while Sora tries to save the world again. Riku can now do important Master stuff (whatever that is) and now has a new goal.

Actually..Yen sid said just open the seven keyholes of sleep and Return....nothing more...he never warned Sora that Organization XIII is luring him to TWTNW

YX and Xemnas wasn't part of the exam after all and the exam supposed to be canceled right after they noticed Xehanort's presence. But basicly Yen Sid decide to pull an Eraqus on Sora and be dick with him.

But hey...Does the master rank even matter anymore???? except of one secret your master will tell you...there is nothing special about being a master

Sora defeated two incarnations of Xehanort(who was a keyblade master) He unlocked keyholes and saved worlds more than any master in the Series.

Sora doesn't need the Stupid Master rank to kick Xehanort's ass.

Actually.Sora left after KH3D not to retake the stupid test.He said there is something he needs to do

He made Riku master because he made another trip to the dream realm (the name slips my mind). He actually says that right before naming Riku. This is undoubtably not the sole reasoning behind it, but the simplest way to put it. Yen Sid also never said Sora failed, he did say they both deserve to become masters, but noted that only one of them made a return to the dream realm and saved a friend.

The rank and title is not what's important in KH3D, and I have no idea why people are so focused on it. The idea behind taking the exam was more to get the power they needed (which are not tied to becoming a Keyblade Master) and learning to properly use the keyblade (like a master) by unlocking the sleeping world's keyholes and going through the trials to do so.

Just for the record Yen sid was also duped by Master Xehanort so how was Sora supposed to figure that he was being mislead XDDD. Riku went the extra mile in this case which is why he got the title.

Riku went into soras dream AGAIN AND BEAT VENTUS :D Well sorta ventus

Sora doesn't even need the title because he is Sora.

Master Sora doesn't even sound right.

This game was about Riku ft. Sora.

Though he didn't mean to, Sora fell into (I guess) darkness. He was easily lead into deeper sleep and Riku had to go back in the realm of sleep and save him after he had just got out. Riku had to battle the dark figure in Sora's heart in order for him to wake up.

However, Yen Sid didn't necessarily fail Sora, he just named Riku a Master because he was able to save Sora from sleep. Besides Sora has already proven himself in previous games....he beat Ansem SoD, Xemnas, and the members of Organization XIII as well as saved Karir, Riku, and most of the worlds.

Then again the idea of the journey was to obtain a power they previously lacked in order to beat Xehanort in the final showdown which I think they both achieved. Oh well, they're both awesome and are powerful enough to be Masters and kick Xehanort's butt in the next game :D

A true master wouldn't so easily succumb to the darkness.

He has to build a resistance otherwise he could so easily be taken over again when the real battle happens.

If I recall, Yen Sid told Sora and Riku that their exam was to unlock the seven keyholes of sleep and return safely to his tower. Sora did not accomplish the latter and Riku had to save him hence Yen Sids line: "However, one of you braved the realm of sleep again to unlock the final keyhole and save a friend."

Sora failed to become a Master because he was unable to exit the Realm of Sleep by himself. However, he did gain the power of the Sleeping Keyholes as he did seal all seven.

I just thought only because Riku went into the Realm of Sleep again wasn't a very good reason. Considering all Sora's done, I would think they'd both be Masters. I actually thought Sora was gonna keep Ven's Keyblade Armor or at least get some of his own. I honestly love the Keyblade Armor. Yes, since you have Gummi Ships, they aren't necessary, but who cares? They look awesome and aren't covered in zippers :P

What? No he didn't

Not really handling darkness has nothing to do with being a Master. Only Master Eraqus was creating the stigma that it need to be controlled and pushed aside. Darkness doesn't have to be a bad thing Riku is proof of that.

I'v seen alot of people basically repeating me and others, and see that people are throwing questions and therories out there that were already said to be false or irrelevant. Read all post before posting your own. Keeps things from getting tedious. ;)

The unfinished business is the Dream Eaters

The unfinished business is the Dream Eaters

No they aren't...so he took a very long time(as mentioned by Donald & Goofy) just to say thank you to the dream eaters????? are you serious

He already saw Roxas,Xion.Namine,Terra,Aqua,Ven and you just want him to open the seven keyholes again.

The unfinished business he talked about( and never tell anybody) is what he learned during his time in TWTNW about the hearts tied to him

It's Dream Eaters http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-neutral.png

Ok...so you think he took a very long time(as said by Donald and Goofy in the secret ending) just to say thank you????did time slow down and he forced to say thank you in the slowest way possible.

if it's really the dream eaters.then tell me what is Sora doing after thanking them????????

no it's not the dream eaters...he would've thanked them and then come back to the tower again.there is something more.

But since everyone like to overpraise Riku(I love Riku but oh boy some treat hin like god) and The Stupid Master Rank.I'm not gonna continue this arguement
