Monty Oum, the creator of Dead Fantasy is creating a new show, called RWBY {Red White Black Yellow} so far, there is a trailer which showcase what I believe is Red, a girl based off of Little Red Riding hood. It's incredibly badass, and the soundtrack so far sounds amazing!

Oh hey look Blake is actually saying more than one word in this episode that's nice.  This episode seems to focus more so on Team JNPR mainly Phyra about what she thinks is right and such.  Nora is being Nora which is nice, Ren's "Please Do Nothing to The Cook" Apron is nice lol and I like his voice Montys brother is doing great as him in my opinion. Qrow and Yang talk about her mother wooo. A nice moment between Jaun and Phyra as well, well for a while.  Velvet likes to take pictures that's nice.  And Ruby once again stumbles into a little trouble when she seems to be catching on that something seems to be fishy as well as actually learning that things are fishy.  Oh and the next fight is gonna be interesting: Phyra vs. Penny.  Good episode can't wait for next week, there is only four episodes left in this Volume and judging by the last two things are gonna be picking up.

I agree. It's very strange how the story is progressing. Way dark and not well explained.

Contrary, I have to say this (Cinder's backstory ep) is one of Volume 3's better episodes. 

Thoughts on Chapter 8:

 

 

 

This chapter was absolutely touching. I enjoyed team JNPR having more screen time. Nora being extremely hilarious, Ren's apron was funny and...

 

that touching moment between Pyrrha and Jaune was absolutely gorgeous. It was so great to see these two bonding and finally getting really close. But man, I just loved the symbolism with the leaves during that scene. I'm strangely glad this episode didn't have any action so it can focus on these really touching moments.

Chapter 8:

 

 

Nice that Blake's willing to try to believe Yang. Although she's clearly not entirely sure.

- "Under normal circumstances" What's that supposed to be mean? Does the school staff think that Team RWBY are unstable and would actually intend to lash out if provoked. Is there a noodle incident we don't know about involving Team RWBY getting so worked up that they went on a killing spree? ... Obviously not, but I would only think that because of you delivered that line, Ironwood's VA. This voice direction...

- So wait, is Ironwood a good guy or a bad guy or a bad guy acting like a good guy or... never mind, it doesn't matter.

- Also, I just realized: This Yang/Mercury thing is a total non-conflict. Cinder's plan to frame Yang would be collapsed right now if the medics actually checked Mercury before allowing themselves to be duped by Cinder's disguise. Seriously, his legs are made of metal. A couple seconds to analyze this, like right after it happened, would just raise more questions about Mercury himself and also null the impact of the shock because the idea is that Mercury's leg was made of flesh and was actually caused great pain by Yang's attack, causing the distress. But since none of that is true, it doesn't add up. Even then, the plan is stupid because Cinder's disguises are awful and everybody she uses them on is apparently an idiot. And to top it all off: I have no reason to care about Yang being framed because she might as well be a non-entity.

- Oh great, and just throw in On-The-Fence Blake because... why not.

- "No one can really question him about what happen" Again, that would already be answered if the medics actually checked his damn legs thoroughly.

- Oh, Nora and Ren... I'm sorry, but not even your antics are going to salvage anything right now. It's just too late. This is just filler anyway.

- Qrow, you're a dick.

- "Emo one" Ha ha, making fun of emos, because that's totally not an overused joke.

- Oh, now we bring Raven back up again. Took long enough.

- "I was trying to wait for the right time", i.e. "the writers just decided to focus on that again".

- For the love of pete, just have Jaune and Pyrrha f*ck already. This sexual tension bit got old last volume.

- And for the record, Pyrrha's conflict isn't very well thought out either. "I wanted to be a Huntress and help people, but now I'm being told that I can be a Maiden and help people. The difference is that I'm more OP. But I still don't get it and it makes me sad and shit." Ugh.

- Also, random outbursts of violence. Yep, she's Maiden material alright.

- Oh hai, Velvet. Glad to see you're contributing to the "plot" for once. As expected. Because Coco's illusion shit was so easily foreshadowed, it's not even funny.

- Well, at the very least, this scandal isn't being dragged on for too long. Although, seriously, why didn't Mercury just try faking his way out of it and why was Ruby even surprised he'd be there when she knew he would be questioned about the assault? I didn't want it drag on, but making it even more of a non-conflict by having Ruby finding out the truth doesn't really help either.

- Also, seriously, Pyrrha v. Penny? That should end in, like, a second. It's probably not though, is it? Of course it won't.

 

Alright, so maybe I was a little heavy on the snark this week, but it's not like the show is giving me any reasons not to be nicer. This episode was either the same brand of dumb and/or bad with a little "boring" into the mix. A set-up episode is a bunch of non-conflicts and sundry. Blah blah blah blah blah. 4/10.

• Either the writers are going to have Raven involved with the current plot or their saving the whole hunt for her in future volumes. I suspect the latter as Qrow said he wanted to tell Yang about his encounter+whatever Raven left behind eventually, but telling her now was bad timing. Then again if it's the former, that was really cliche... 
• Nora, do you even- oh never mind. e.e
• The ship almost sailed, but the plot blocked it. 
• Speaking of which, Jaune isn't dense. Hurrah!
• Velvet taking bad shots... or are they bad shots? What if she's only interested in the weapons itself? lol nah, but it was nice to see something about her.
• About time there's a mention of CY's fight and suspicion.

Just to answer some stuff:

- Emerald said she had a headache from using an illusion on two people at once and Mercury had his pants leg torn off before he got in the ambulance. So the medics did check his leg off camera it seems.

- They couldn't question Mercury and Ruby was surprised to see Mercury because it was stated that Cinder's team had gone back to Haven  to be with Mercury's family.That's also why Ruby left immediately once she saw Emerald.

Everything else I agree with.

 

Mercury still being there is fine but the big problem I had was why wasn't Emerald at least wearing a cheesy disguise so that at the very least she wouldn't get recognized from across the Colosseum.

 

I feel so torn right now. I love Penny but I also like the idea of Pyrrha accidentally tearing her apart. Don't completely die penny! I think that's probably why they had Pyrrha do that random force push on Jaune; So that if Pyrrha gets the Yang treatment Jaune won't have as much faith in her (whether he tells anyone or not is another thing).

I think you missed the point. It's not a matter of whether she is helping people or not, or which position has her help more people. The aura transfer that she would have to go through in order to become the maiden will potentially change who she is. Losing yourself is a big deal. Your entire identity, personality, etc. gone. The drama is turned up to 10 when you think about the other people in her life. If she were alone, she'd make the choice in a heartbeat. But she has her family, Nora and Ren, and Jaune, people who love her for who she is. She doesn't want to leave those people behind. When Jaune said that she should follow her destiny, she burst into tears because she knows that what he wants will hurt him, perhaps most of all.

Exactly. Especially considering the fact that Jaune said that that's what the Pyrrha Nikos he knows would do and if she goes through with this, she might not end up like the Pyrrha Nikos he knew.
