For those of you who don't know already, a new 3D Super Mario has been announced and will be playable at E3. So what do you think this successor will be? Super Mario Galaxy 3?

I like Galaxy and all, but they should really do something new for the sake of it not getting old.

Hopefully something new and refreshing. Although (this is my nostalgia kicking in) a remake or sequel to Super Mario Sunshine would potentially give me a heart attack. Won't get my hopes up at all though.

this.  this is exactly my thoughts.  Galaxy was fun mostly because it was new and inventive.  I'm sure they have more inventive ideas.

Maybe a new Mario Party for the 3DS?  

 

Nah, it's probably just a new Super Mario Galaxy 3 for the Wii U.

Cant they just give mario a rest for a few years...

Sorry i didnt specify, I meant platformer mario for consoles. Mario party and kart and all those games dont count. I mean the super mario franchise: 64, sunshine, galaxy, galaxy 2

Lol, nah it's all good. I was commenting on how when things do well they tend to make alot of games for the series. I count 16 Mario Party games atm, 4 being arcade games. Does Super Mario World and the original Super Mario Bros count in that list? Also, I think Keys and Volodarskii are probably right.
