Posted February 12, 201312 yr Discuss the world's greatest video game console in terms of hardware. The new YouTube app for PlayStation 3 has been launched. And it's a fantastic app.
February 12, 201312 yr I believe the world's greatest console goes to the PS2. Just because a new YouTube app has been released for the PS3 doesn't instantly makes PS3 the greatest console of all time. Especially seeing how the Wii has long surpassed the PS3 in terms of sales.
February 12, 201312 yr In terms of hardware, Wii U is the most powerful right now. But Sega Dreamcast tops PS3, it may not have been a financial success but it was surely ahead of it's time. Btw, the youtube app is soooo much better on the Vita Edited February 12, 201312 yr by Hei
February 12, 201312 yr I hate the YouTube app. Its annoying... Just go to ps3youtube org, it has higher quality. If also offers you to download those videos, but sometimes that's illegal, so make sure that what you're downloading is legal in terms of copyright.

Just because a new YouTube app has been released for the PS3 doesn't instantly makes PS3 the greatest console of all time. Especially seeing how the Wii has long surpassed the PS3 in terms of sales. I never said it was the greatest video game console. I said it was the greatest in terms of hardware. I never said the app did make it so. Sony's sales struggle because their former advertisement system sucked. They're now using a much better one. In terms of hardware, Wii U is the most powerful right now. But Sega Dreamcast tops PS3, it may not have been a financial success but it was surely ahead of it's time. Btw, the youtube app is soooo much better on the Vita The Wii U has a small HDD. And Nintendo like to use their own special Blu-rays while they are still better than HD DVDs. They don't have the capacity of normal Blu-rays. I hate the YouTube app. Its annoying... What do you hate about it? It only just came out today.
February 12, 201312 yr I heard it was patched. What has changed from the old version? Are videos in 720p now or something?
February 12, 201312 yr What do you hate about it? It only just came out today. Its been out for awhile. We're talking about the ps3 YouTube app, right? I've had it for at least two months. Was it just updated today?

February 12, 201312 yr Author I heard it was patched. What has changed from the old version? Are videos in 720p now or something? 1080p Its been out for awhile. We're talking about the ps3 YouTube app, right? I've had it for at least two months. Was it just updated today? Nah, a brand new app was released today. Which is still saying that the PS3 is a superior console when it isn't. In terms of hardware the PlayStation 3 is the greatest video game console. Keyword: hardware Overall the greatest video game console is the PlayStation 2.
February 12, 201312 yr The Wii U has a small HDD. And Nintendo like to use their own special Blu-rays while they are still better than HD DVDs. They don't have the capacity of normal Blu-rays. Wii U's built in HDD is small, only 32gb as you know. But it has the ability for expandable HDD via USB, so you can have 3 terabytes if you wanted. Also Wii U disc's have just as much disc space, 25gb per layer like blu-ray.

Also Wii U disc's have just as much disc space, 25gb per layer like blu-ray. That costs additional money and additional time. Exactly the Wii U's Blu-ray discs have 25GB per layer. But the normal Blu-ray Discs can have a lot more if needed.
February 12, 201312 yr That costs additional money and additional time. Exactly the Wii U's Blu-ray discs have 25GB per layer. But the normal Blu-ray Discs can have a lot more if needed. Yeah but basic blu-rays either come single-layered (25gb) or double-layered (50gb), I have never seen a game that requires 100-128gb of memory, they are mostly used for data storage and stuff. So they are basically equal in terms of disc storage for games.

February 12, 201312 yr You say the PS3 is the greatest in hardware yet you still say that PS2 is the best game console ever. What logic are you going by here/ Well I think he is saying the Ps3 just has the best hardware capabilities, but PS2 has overall better games and a better experience...I think.
February 12, 201312 yr You say the PS3 is the greatest in hardware yet you still say that PS2 is the best game console ever. What logic are you going by here/ Do you even know what hardware means? Dictionary.com states, hardware - "Computers. the mechanical, magnetic, electronic, and electrical devices comprising a computersystem, as the CPU, disk drives, keyboard, or screen." Therefore, hardware is referring to the physical system and it's capabilities. Now I'm not sure about you. but the last time I checked, the PS3 has better visual capabilities and processing power than the PS2. This is not to be confused with "software" which is the games and media.

But people disagreed with the obvious. PS3 dominates 2012 sales in Australia: http://au.playstation.com/ps3/news/articles/detail/item582244/PS3-dominates-2012-sales-in-Australia/ The YouTube app arrives on PS3: http://au.playstation.com/ps3/news/articles/detail/item536398/The-YouTube-app-arrives-on-PS3/ Some fantastic news. App is amazing, best YouTube app I've ever seen. Plays videos in the highest resolution available. Including the "Original"/4K resolution.
June 15, 201312 yr So I'm gonna replace my PS3's HDD because it doesn't work anymore but I'm scared that if I put the wrong HDD model in my ps3 it will lose it's backwards compatibility. I just wanted to know if any of you knew if changing my HDD will affect the PS3's backwards compatibility and how backwards compatibility works on PS3.
June 15, 201312 yr HDD, I believe, is pretty much storage space. I would imagine that backwards compatibility would be based around the disk scanner and the firmware that runs your PS3, so your HDD has nothing to do with it.
June 15, 201312 yr Author Changing your HDD won't affect your backwards compatibility. It just comes down to the disc drive.
June 15, 201312 yr I have my PS3 since December and I never tried Playstation Home because no one seem to talk about it,.What do you guy think of it? By the way,the Youtube app is indeed awesome.
July 15, 201312 yr I need some help, I installed the PS4 4.45 update today (the one which bricks) thinking that it had been fixed by now, however much to my dismay I discovered that it wasn't and infact my PS3 will not work, I know how to install the firmware, the problem is the HDMI cable is not working on my PS3, so I can not activate safe mode, no output is coming through, it's just saying no signal, does anyone know a fix? I'm getting worried now.
July 15, 201312 yr When you turn on your PS3, hold down the power button till it beeps a second time and it should reset it
