How long do you guys think it'll take to develop once it's announced? 2-3 years? Maybe even just 1?

 

I just can't wait for that amazing day that they announce KH3 to everyone with some teaser clips/pics of it then I could go play KH 2.5 while we wait. Still feels like LIGHTYEARS from now though, shit...

I think once it's announced it'll have already been worked on a good bit.

I think we'll probably recieve it within a year or so of it's announcement.

Maybe for the next year or so

It'll take 3 - 5 years to be developed. 

It really depends how exactly they're handling the Versus XIII engine, aka. will it be easy to take the Versus engine and implement KH3 on it, or will a lot of work need to be done for the change?

I like to think that at this point they're doing some preliminary stuff since all the KH games that expand the story are out and Versus has been in full swing development for sometime already. Once it's announced I think it'll have about two years of development left.

I'm still not sure of the idea of playing 2.5 in the wait though. Unless they're planning 1.5 filling in the waiting time for KH3 which seems kinda impossible.

I want and expect them to put some time into the game, so I'm guessing around 3-4 years. 

It'll take long enough to make the "WE W4NT KH3" fanboys/girls whine that it's taking too long.

What do you mean by you're "not sure of the idea"?KH 2.5 is definitely going to come out next year and I was saying I can't wait to play that while we wait for KH3.

I say let the Osaka team handle it. It'll come out in 1 year.

God, I don't know. I've lost the ability to judge when Square will release anything more than six months out.

 

I guess it depends on if they've already started developing it, which may in itself be good or bad. It's not going to come out on this generation of hardware, I think that's unlikely at this point, but if they've already started making it for the PS3 then will they need to start over development if the PS4 architecture is radically different? 

 

Either way it's gonna be a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if KH 3 is already being worked on by the Osaka team because I'm pretty sure it's coming out in 2015, the year after 2.5 is released.

I'm guessing it'll be a good 2 years for KH3 to globalize once it's been announced.  Perhaps longer, though I seriously hope not.
