I know little to nothing about Final Fantasy aside from some vague connections between it and the mobile console KH games. So I'd like your opinions on which ones are worth watching in "movie form" via YouTube or other sites. I'm speaking in terms of graphics, music, characters, storyline, etc.

I know that various chapters in the series have sub-series and spinoffs so if I can "watch" those similarly, let me know.

Also, if you have links to playlists or full collections or sites or whatever, please put them in your reply and you get a cookie.

THANKS ^_^

XIII because of the story, i personally like it, XII because its fun to watch gameplay, the story is meh, i loved it. X because its perfection, and IX because its also perfection. just do it.

VIII is my favorite, X is a good second.

XII is the original star wars trilogy gone awful.

Final Fantasy X. That game was designed for starters, as the main character is taken to a world he's never known and has the concepts explained to him. The others expect you to have more common knowledge than that. Plus, it was the last of the golden era and the story, characters, music, and gameplay are amazing. And there's no denying that Tidus and Yuna had one of the best romances in the games.

Also, FFX was the first to do a lot of things: have amazing graphics, voice acting, the ability to switch party members during battle, etc. X was also the first game to have a direct sequel, and in that sequel have the first girl main protagonist. X was amazing in many ways, and as it was my first FF, I say it's a great place to start. Gotta love the PS2 games:) I've played that game many times, and it never gets old. It's simply beautiful.

Final fantasy IX is more closer to the original concept to the saga, but if i should want to, I would go with FF VII too...

But most importantly

FF: FoM

To watch one, I'd say FFX. It's one of my favorites, and definitely my favorite of VII+. However, I highly recommend playing FFIV and FFVI. Both were excellent games that deserve the recognition, in my opinion. They don't have many ties to KH, but are still excellent games.

According to my information, VII was where they integrated CG stuff which makes it more suitable to watch and learn because I can't play all of them and I often left unentertained by playthroughs. So I couldn't include anything prior.

Well, I would recommend watching all of them at one point or another. ;) But for your purposes, I would recommend either XII or X first, as they both have motifs that seem to define the series. XII has the elements of medieval-meets-technology, more fleshed out characters, how magic and swords cope with the presence of airships and other advanced weapons, and has a plot that, if slightly convoluted in places, is easy enough to follow along with. X has more of the sci-fi-meets-anime feel to it, focuses more on personal journeys of a smaller group of protagonists (really, Tidus and Yuna are the only ones you need to pay attention to), deals with overarching themes that borderline philosophical (which is one of the main traits of all the games, perhaps more pronounced in this one than others), and gets you involved with some more of the exaggerated world elements, such as weapons and hair, which linger in a good many of the games.

While there are clips in VII, VIII, and IX, most of the game is still based around text, and there is no audio in the CG scenes. There's not much to really watch in the ways of a movie, though I recommend reading the game scripts and then using the clips to accent them.

I would also say watch XIII last, because it is so radically different from other FF games that it wouldn't really get you integrated into how the franchise generally works.

Well, if you're wanting one for a "movie" feel, go with FF13.

Final Fantasy VII-IX might not be very entertaining to watch cutscenes from, since there's no voice acting.  For the best story-lines and quality, I'd highly recommend watching (in order of greatest to least) Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy X.
