Ok, so I have just started playing this game.  I'm currently on Terra's story line, but it's really weird.  He's so monotone!  And Ventus and Aqua...there's some emotion in about every one of their lines!  Is Terra's dialogue supposed to be like this??  Is he really supposed to sound like this?  Maybe it's just me...

i thought this was going to  be something like "those voices, they keep telling me to kill them" xD

Not sure if it's supposed to be like that, but a lot of people say Jason Dohring, Terra's voice actor didn't really deliver the dialogue all too well. Personally I'm indifferent to it, but there are a couple times Terra's voice just doesn't sound right if that makes any sense.

At first I didn't think it was that great. but as the game went on I came to love it.

I like Terra's voice

The performance to begin with is not that great, but towards the end, it gets better.

Terra's VA only does well during angry/serious scenes.

And this.

It gets better towards end, but seriously after listening Japanese VA of Ven, Terra and Aqua I had hard time getting used to English ones. I really like KH's English voice acting, but these three xD... they are just so much worse than others

It's not that bad, just wait until you get to the ending owo

It's like none of the main characters can put out as much emotion as James Woods can for Hades, wtffff

I honestly thought Terra's voice actor did a pretty poor job.  Ven and Aqua were pretty decent--or at least I thought so.  I've no idea if Terra was really meant to sound the way he did in-game, though I also noticed his tone and dialogue didn't match up at times.

His voice is fine to me.

Imo among the main cast BbS didn't have the best voice acting in the series. Both Terra's(Jason Dohring) and Aqua's(Willa Holland) VA were lack luster though it should be noted that this was their first time voice acting. Ven's was the best out of TAV because Jesse McCartney has been doing it for the longest but there were still parts where his delivery was a little off. Vanitas's VA also did one of the better jobs but sounded bored at points. I'm not sure how to take Xehanort's(Leonard Nimoy) VA but he's hammy gold. Eraqus' is Mark Mother firetrucking Hamill, and Mickey(Bret Iwan) hadn't quite grown into his role yet since he was just assigned the role as Mickey's new official VA but he lacks the bite that Wayne Allwine did.

TL;DR, no, Terra isn't supposed to sound that way, it's the VA.

The only time I thought their voices sounded dull when the Jump Festa trailer and the other first few trailers came out. But they improve greatly in the actual game, and more so in the ending. Terra's and Aqua's VAs did best during touching and climatic moments.

I've always thought Terra's voice sounded fine xD He is supposed to be a serious character, so maybe that's why he sounds the way he does? I dunno. It'd be interesting to hear him speak and act like a deep-in-thought character then put emotion in his voice when something happened, such as Stitch taking the Lucky Charm Aqua gave him, causing Terra to panic and ask for it back because his friend made it. I dunno, I just like Terra's voice xD
