So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

Tsuna narrowed her eyebrows as she stared at the tooth he held in his hand. Well at least i'm less creeped out over it, she thought. "Actually, i do hear it." Tsuna said taking her eyes off the tooth and looked around. Nothing around looked like it could be causing the noise "Do you know where it could be coming from?" She asked Kilek

"Excuse me! Wait up!" Rasiel exclaimed, running after some really pretty girl.

"Can you help me find Karu? I need to find Karu. Please help me find my Karu!" Rasiel begged with a frown.

She asked this to Yumi Yuki Ai. The name meaning 'arrow'...'snow'...and 'love'. Rasiel was rather knowledge of this.

"He looks almost like me, he has blue eyes, and a black shirt with a tie, and black pants with white shoes." she explained.

"He has empathy so don't show any emotion around him unless you have too." she said.

 

 

"I am Karu Kasaragi..." Karu introduced to the rather annoying Robert.

He slowly stood up, locking his eyes on Robert.

"You are confused so soon? Wait until Rasiel gets here..." he sighed.

The gentle breeze rustled Ren's auburn locks across his cheek.  His whole body felt stiff, as though he'd been sleeping in one position far longer than natural.  Slowly he opened a clear blue eye.  He was looking out at an airstrip which, by its aged appearance, seemed to have been long abandoned.  He hadn't the slightest idea where he was, nor how he'd even gotten there.

 

"What, the...?" Ren thought mildly to himself, slowly bringing himself upright.  It was then that he noticed he wasn't alone.  He shot a swift glance towards Tsuna and Kilek, eyes narrowing slightly as he shot critically, "Who the heck are guys?  And where did you bring me?"

Yumi nodded slowly. "First show me your power. Then I'll show you mine,that way we know best how to use each others powers. Makes a team better. If your willing to do that then I will help you find your boyfriend." She said in a monotone voice .

Even if this went bad she could find another person to team up with. "Go on." She prompted.

Okay. Ember had woken on a beach with someone who had powers, like her. One boy had woken up and gone away by himself. Then Crazy here had woken in a panic about someone named Karu. Then the other two girls had started to walk off. One crazy day. "Wait up!" Ember called out. She ran over to Yumi and Rasiel. "Sorry, but I'm not going to stick around alone. Besides, strength in numbers, right?"

"HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND. HE IS MY BROTHER! YOU WILL SEE!" Rasiel snapped.

"As you wish...I am Rasiel Kasaragi..." She announced.

She snapped, her hair turning a platinum blonde and her eyes turning an unnatural silver. She had two small black wings and her dress color changed to a red.

"A demonic form of myself. And..." She sighed, grabbing a small rabbit stuffed animal.

She immedently changed into the rabbits unloving form.

"See..." She said, changing into her normal human form.

Tsuna heard someone shifting on the ground and she looked behind her. The last person that was alseep finally woke up. I guess that's everyone, she thought and stood up. "Good morning~" Tsuna said to Ren as friendly as she possibly can. "I'm Tsuna and that's Kilek over there." She said gesturing to Kilek, who was still on the ground. "And yeah, we have no idea where we are either...."

Ren raised a skeptical brow as he eyed Tsuna.  She seemed friendly enough, but you never could tell for sure.  He slowly rose to his feet, brushing off any debris from his fine black pants and copper overcoat.  "My apologies," he finally managed, "I'd assumed you were the one who brought me here.  Please call me Ren."  The auburn-haired teen shot a glance over at Kilek, who remained on the ground in a disheveled state.  "Say, what happened to him?"

Tsuna looked over at Kilek. "Oh, he got in a skirmish with someone that was here recently but he'll be fine in due time." Speaking of Sitoka, she thought, i wonder where he ran off to; probably in another fight or someting. Tsuna sighed and said "We should probably look for a way out of this place since everyone here is now awake. " She looked over at the trees lined up across the air strip. "What about going through there?" she said pointing in its direction
 

"I'm very sorry. I didn't know. I can't read minds. I can control water." Yumi said she gave a slight frown and looked over at the other girl.

"My name is Yumi Yuki Ai. Call me Yumi." She told them.

She tried to force all the emotion from her face. "Look,I'm very sorry. I'll remember he's your brother from now on." She said.

"It's okay. I am sorry. My fault." Rasiel said, rudely not agnolaging the other girl.

She rudely stated walking ahead, into the woods, begin to play on her PSP.

Kilek gingerly began to stand up, "I guess we should start looking around," Kilek suggested, the music still in the background. "Should we try to find where that music is comung from? Its most likely more people"

"Hello."

 

The voice buzzed in through the earpeices of every subject. The very same words. The very same voice.

 

"Welcome. Congratulations. You've been selected. Look around you, you see others. They've been selected for the very same reason you have. Don't worry, I already know. You have a power. Perhaps more than just one. You are not ordinary, and that makes you worthy of being part of The Experiment. You all have been placed on an island. Do not attempt to escape, there is no way off and only leagues upon leagues of ocean awaits you should you attempt to sail. Look around. Everyone around you has powers just like you. Some of them shall help you, some of them shall contest you. Befriend them, make them your foes, use them as tools, all of these are legitimate possibilities, and I encourage you to get creative, it shall only make my results more conclusive. With these people you shall overcome the tests of the Experiment, or should I say you shall try to overcome them. Your survival is not guaranteed, and this experiment shall test ever fiber of your being."

 

A pause.

 

"I am Xi. I am the master of this island. I am the god of this island. I am not a benevolent god. I am, however, a fair one. These tests will not be impossible, but I shall be sure they are close. If you pass these tests, if you prove what I wish you to prove in this experiment, your reward will be getting off this island, but it shall be so much more as well. You see, this island is very special, just like all of you. Through my tests you shall discover its secrets, and the secrets of your abilities and the abilities of those around you. I will say no more. It seems that your first test is beginning."

 

A last light cackle buzzed through the earpieces before the transmission cut off.

 

 

Close to the battling Sikota Urinakano, Hazimie Azhar, and Neisan a rumble came from within the jungle. Loud. Then Louder. The sound of treads. Suddenly three Panzer IV Tanks emerged from the forest. German World War II Era tanks, strangely fully-functioning, and fully mobile. The first two rumbled to a stop and suddenly their guns readjusted- aiming at the three. The third tank rumbled onto the airstrip and, while moving, adjusted its main gun towards the three in the center of the airstrip- Ren Cabret, Kilek North, and Tsuna Sasaki.

 

On the beach the sound of the wind and the waves was overtaken with something significantly more malevolent. From over the trees an Apache helicopter appeared and sailed over Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, and Rasiel Kasaragi, moving towards the water. Then it spun back around and without warning fired off a missile that cut through the air to explode several meters away from the group, kicking up quite a bit of sand in a loud explosion. It repositioned to face the group more accurately and its chain gun buzzed with movement, aiming towards the four.

 

Deep in the jungle, around the crumbling house where Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern were conversing, a pair of infantry ground drones took aim and began opening fire with installed machine guns. Suddenly the quiet house was filled with the roar of gunfire as the crumbling walls tore apart with ease as the blind fire of the drones shifted, moving closer to the group that lay within.

 

"Welcome to the first test. Be sure to try your best."

 

Behind his microphone Xi smiled.

Gunfire soon flew through the room Robert and the others were standing in, so he decided to finaly use his power. and become intangible.

 

He turned towards the others. "What do we do now!?"

"What the?!" Fulmen shouted, suddenly throwing himself onto the floor as one of the walls exploded with gunfire; the area filling with a great noise as guns-blazed, only moments after someone spoke through the earpieces.

Fulmen crawled to a safer edge of the house, looking at the others who had also ducked into cover. "What's shooting at us?!" Fulmen yelled, looking around to get a glance at the sudden opposition- a pair of Infantry Drones.

Our first test...is Military-grade Drones?! Fulmen shouted in his mind, the smell of ozone increasing as his stress level increased. Perhaps...maybe if I can get a lucky shot- I can hit one of them with lightning....

"Wait!" Tsuna yelled but the voice was already long gone. She felt rumbling under feet and saw a tank coming into view. "What the... is that a world war II tank?" she muttered. Whoever that Xi guy was, he's trying to kill us, she thought and looked towards the other two. "What do we do now??" she asked them. The gun of the tank was in their general direction now and looked like it was ready to fire. Without thinking, Tsuna grabbed Kilek and Ren by the wrists and pulled them out of the way

Gunfire!! I shouted as i looked around... taking refuge on a pillar on the old house. The bullets were crossing on all directions.. it was insane.... I looked around and I saw someone asking to us...

 

-What do we do now!?

For a moment... usually the right answer would be run for your life... however we were five on that room... If the voice no, Xi was right, then all of them had abilities like mine. that´s when i reacted to...

 

- My notebook!!

Quickly i looked to my bag... for a moment i though my belongs were gone...but no, my pen my notebook.. all of it were there. As fast as i could i began to draw something... a white canvas... if you want to see it like this... the bullets were faster... as the guys like drones were getting closer to... finally I ended to draw... I touched my drawing and then it began to materialize... in just a moment the paper became a machine gun. I looked once more and then i said to them...

 

-We need to fight! Use your power... if you can!! Said this I looked at fulmen... "Hope this would work"

-Hey! gimme a hand! 

Said this I ran crossing side to side... shooting at the droids... 

The Panzer tank facing the airstrip fired after a millisecond's hesitation. The explosion cause the pavement of the airstrip to erupt in blast of dust and concrete, barely missing the group that previously stood in what was now a blackened, ruined section of the airstrip. The tank began to advance on the airstrip towards Tsuna, Kilek, and Ren, while the other two moved in on the others on the outskirts of the base...

The first drone was hit by a few bullets from Locke's drawn machine gun. It adjusted its aim and began to fire at Locke while the other one moved closer to the house, spraying machine gun fire through the walls all the while.

"Why does bad stuff always happen to me when I am playing my games?" Rasiel growled, quickly shapeshifting into her small rabbit. That really didn't cause her to get hurt because of the shape shift.

"Oh, come and get the run away rabbit." she teased in a voice that sounded like her voice mixed with a robot, running.

The rabbit-Rasiel ran and hopped onto Yumi's shoulder.

"Good Luck. I am going to go get Karu if he doesn't get me first." by this time, Rasiel felt a tug on her neck, her collar.

"Oops. Too late. Bye Yumi, I hope ya survive." she sighed, immediately being dragged by her collar.

She was still in her stuffed rabbit form and at least she was going to Kuro by his hack.

 

 

Karu immediately ducked, guarding himself with anything possible. He was trapped by the fires.

"Dang it..." he snapped, closing his eyes, he suprisingly couldn't hack into the guns.

He finally had dragged Rasiel here by force.

"Karu why did you drag me here? Clearly I can't help you." she said, still discissed.

"Turn into your demon form." he snapped.

"Yes wise master!" she smiled, quickly changing into the demotic form of herself, turning to Robert.

"Hand me something. Anything." she snapped.

Neisan turned to face one of the tanks, ignoring the battle between the other two. "Just a tank? I know what to do with this." Neisan ran up under the tank's gun and climbed on top. Then, with a swift shot from his lasers, he blasted the top hatch off the tank. Inside he finds . . .

Fulmen began to concentrate, rolling into view of one of the Drones. With his left raised, he raised it and opened his palm to face the Drone several lengths away from him.

Come on... He thought, concentrate...

He put much of his mind into his 'power', the smell of ozone increasing- reaching a point where touching anything near Fulmen might cause static electricity. A bolt shot out from his outstretched hand, a bright white-hot bolt streaking towards the drone..

Yumi sighed. "Okay..guys get back unless your power can match the ocean." Suddenly a large wall of water spring forth from the ocean.

"Xi,huh." She laughed and sent the wall of water barreling to the helicopter.

She looked book to see Rasiel being dragged away by some force. "Oh well." She yawned.

Kilek stared at the explosive carnage the tank had let loose, "Thanks, that could of been uncomfortable," Kilek told Tsuna. Kilek first idea had been to catch the shell with his teeth, having done such feats before, but the explosion would of ended him no question.

 

Somethings operating t:hat thing, Kilek thought, it obviously has other nasty things loaded on there, but a tanktakes time to load, better make it count. Kilek's jaw shifted again and he ran at the tank

Dammit! I shouted as I tried to avoid the bullets coming at me... the droids were getting closer and closer... then a lightning bolt came across hitting the drone. 

-Whoa... what´s that... a lightning? 

I looked back fo a moment... looking for the source... "it looks like  Fulmen was more useful than I though" I though for a moment... then I starter to shooting again... I knew my drawing was temporal... around 30 seconds more and my drawing will become dust.... i needed to be precise.... one second of mistake.... and I´ll be disarmed and in danger... 

Inside he finds...

 

Nothing. Well, at least no person or people. The inside of the hatch was empty. But something was very wrong about the interior. It was changed. Heavily. Inside the hatch, where only technologies of the 30s or 40s were to be expected was in fact a criss-cross of modern wires and technologies. It was difficult to tell if the tank was being remotely controlled or if it was automated, but not a soul was inside. The main gun turret of the tank began to swivel at a very quick pace, seemingly trying to throw Neisan off.

 

The tank on the airstrip began to move backward after firing, attempting to stay out of Kilek's range, but unable to move at a quick pace.

The Apache helicopter spun out of control as the wave barreled into it. It seemed to nearly re-stabilize, but the water still clung to it, and it spiraled to the side...

towards the group on the beach.

The first drone was struck by the electricity of Fulmen's bolt. Internal wiring went unhinged and the machine gun began to fire in random directions, continuing to shoot off rounds at a frightening rate, but without direction. The other drone continued to concentrate fire on the house, with the last boards keeping the roof on the house beginning to splinter and crack.
