So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

"I'm not sure how much I can tell you,but from what I know we're on an island. The voice is a person named Xi. He's runs this place.. I think it was some kind testing grounds and from what I know it has something to do with WW2. That's it really. As for the test Xi trapped me down here for something. That something is a test. He likes to hurt your body and your soul." Yumi looked at the floor and her voice darkened.

"He's a killer,he killed someone I knew. Don't trust him he likes to play games. Test bonds,hurt you,kill you inside. It's like some little sick game and your the new pawn." She said and look him in the eyes.

"I'm sorry,but welcome to the WW2 games." She looked away again and sighed,rather loudly.

Simon chuckled. "I love games." He said. "But I doubt this guy can break my will." He slammed hs hand into the ground, small tendrils of plants grew out of his bracelet into the ground and almost instantly, an oak tree sprouted from the ground taking up space in at least half of the room from the center out. "See this big bundle of life?" He said. "I wanted it here." He walked around and faced Yumi. "Follow your dreams. They will take you places." He chuckled at his cliché. "Tell me, Yumi, what do you want?"

"Ah,my name,yes." Yumi said, but shook her head.

"No,no. Your wrong..not something..someone! I'm in love with someone I met here. Buut~ it seems like he's half dead and Xi doesn't want our happiness. As for dreams I just had one to be 'seen'. It's funny how when you are your every need is taken care of. I never got that at two I had to take care of myself. I never had a mother. I was always alone people know when your different I was always just shunned. The first time a person saw me..I was shot at." She gave a bitter laugh.

"I gave up on wishes long ago..." She sighed.

Tsuna wanted to stay and help but her flames would probably make the situation worse. She stared up at the upcoming missiles then started to take off towards the woods. We better meet up again, she thought as she took a good look at the three of them then started making her way around the trees as fast as she could, getting a few scrapes on her legs along the way. After what seemed like forever, Tsuna slowed down to a stop and leaned against a tree trying to catch her breath. A small ball of fire came to her palm so she can see better. Is there even a way out of here, she thought and looked around.

"You shouldn't have!" Simon shouted. He cleared his throat. "If you gave up on wishes, then what do you want with you and this lover of yours?" He placed his hand against his tree. "Maybe I need to show you the strength of ideals a little more." A branch shot out from the trunk and curved towards Yumi at an absurd speed.

Yumi jumped back. "I don't know! Maybe it's not a dream with I plan on finding him again!" She cried.

"Now let's just play this safe. Put your branch away from me! Besides why dream if you can do!?!" She asked rather angerly. 

"If I can do it I should that's what life has made me understand,maybe it's better not to be seen.." She sighed rather annoyed.

Rasiel looked up at Xander, giving him a sharp glare before switching her glare to Xi.

"What do you mean not do anything right now...not attack the one behind killing three people today?" she said through telepathy.

"Xi...I could have sworn this was a trap..." she said bluntly.

Simon halted his assault. "Fair enough..." He retracted his branch and had the tree sink into the ground. "Xi!" He shouted. "What do you want us to do?"

{This could still be a trap, Rasiel. That's why I need you to hold back.. for now} He replied through tele

 

He continued looking at Xi, anticipating his answers..

"It does work like that." Yumi said and sighed after.

"Or maybe..it..does.." She tilted her head.

"I never tired it." She told him.

Ember was standing on the tram, waiting for it to stop. She wasn't quite sure what to expect, so she conjured a bowstaff. When the doors opened, Ember could see a guy out there. Admittedly cute, but awfully odd looking as well. She walked out, and went over to where the guy was sitting. "Hey. Name's Ember. Who are you?" She asked, and offered her hand. She was going to trust him for now, but hopefully he wouldn't be psychotic like Isaac.

Neisan set Kilek on the ground. "Gonna need both arms for this." He stood next to Ren, his arms raised. "I could use my sniper to take them down, but it would be too slow. Ren, I want you to accelerate my lasers with your wind. They should be able to reach the missiles if we do that, and the quantity and speed of them should be enough to take down most of the missiles. What say you?" Neisan turned to Ren.

"I say it's a better plan than I've managed to come up with!" Ren replied, shifting slightly to get a better view of the missiles.  They were coming in an abundance all around them.  He didn't admit this, but he wondered if they would be able to catch all of them before they landed and ignited everything they touched.  "Here goes nothing!"

 

Outstretching his palms, Ren sent powerful straight winds in the direction of Neisan's lasers.  At first it looked as though it would do no good, yet the wind succeeded in accelerating the lasers.  Things were starting to look up.  If they could just keep this up until the missiles were done spiraling towards them...

 

Just as Ren got his hopes up, a missile slipped past them and hit the nearby shack.  As a result, the shack exploded, sending bits of debris--sharp and benign alike--everywhere.  The impact of this explosion sent Ren off his feet, hurling into the air before landing harshly on his side.  His whole right side burned intensely, and he felt something cool and liquid stream down his cheek.  The world felt foggy and distant; all he could make out was Neisan's incoherent shape and the orange glow of ember around them before his heavy lids closed.

Xi smirked a bit. Not the most useful questions, they had limited time....

 

"Well," he faced Robert, "the whole point of the experiment is that your survival is not guaranteed. However, while I shall not divulge any information on my reasons for the moment, understand that this is more than just a research project. There is now way for you to know if I'm lying, but understand when I say this that I have not lied to you before. You will not be killed if you complete the experiment. It is your completion of the experiment that is the point."

 

Xi then turned to face Humm, and his response was terse and unfeeling.

 

"You are a failed experimental recreation of a dead man. You are a replica, you were created by me and released onto the island."

 

Xi made his final turn towards Rasiel.

 

"This was not a trap, though you are reasonable for suspecting such. I simply wanted to talk. You didn't ask, but I see your other question behind your eyes. You are wondering why, you are wondering what made me do it. Most of all, your wondering if you can make it to the other side of this glass easy enough and kill me. Those feelings are good, hold on to them. Unfortunately the answer to your last question is no, there is no way you can kill me. Now, only a few more questions before the next test begins, what would you like to make them?"

As Lira ventured into the forest a large part of the ground infront of her suddenly burst upward. A small elevator like device protruded through the surface, beckoning her.

"I apologize for the delay." Simon and Yumi heard Xi's voice clearly. "Your fate is so close to being decided. Tell me, what do you think Rasiel, Xander, Humm, and Robert will pick?"

Lira was most certainly and clearly surprised by the portruding surface, rising suddenly but still smoothly. Lira jumped onto it, standing on it without any fears or hesitation. (I'm going to need to see some memories first. I'll have to make sure I don't burst right in front of this group, but rather sneak up on them a bit. And THEN, screw with them finally.) Lira thought to herself, planning ahead. (Karu...Karu....) she repeated in her head. Who was this Karu?

"Don't suppose you'd tell me who are, huh Xi??" Xander finally spoke up

 

[Guh, what a wasted question..] He thought [He'd never tell us, not directly anyway]

Fulmen stood up. "Fulmen." He responded, looking over the girl before him. He gave an exasperated smile, showing a bit off the wear and tear he had been suffering recently. "Nice to meet you." He put out his own hand, shaking Ember's once. "It's nice to see another person for a change. I've uh..been a bit own my own for some time now." Fulmen explained. He didn't want to divulge the full details, as he didn't exactly trust this Ember person yet. For all he knew she could be in league with Xi, or maybe even worse than that.

I'll just have to at least put some trust in her..and hope she does the same..

As Kijiya waiting for his next assignment that Xi will give him later on,he look towards Hazimie's corpse."Heh,look at you.....you're smiling while in death....i don't get this people..."Kijiya said as he mock the humans."Well,i have a right to mock them....since i'm not one of them,even though my normal form are similar to them.But.....for what purpose that humans do their silly actions?is it their arrogance?is it for their own disposal since there is no survival?Or..."Kijiya said as he then touch at his chest."Is it that they have something.....that i don't have.....the heart?"Kijiya said as he then think about Human's actions...

"Xi," Robert said, "how did you find us? After all, I never told anyone about my powers before." The answer may not help him survive the island, but he was curious.

Xi turned to Xander.

 

"You should have known the moment you asked how foolish such a question is. It would jeapardize the timing of the experiment to explain it to you entirely. No, you see the question is more than just what, or who I am, it is why. And that question will be answered in due time if your have the endurance to get to it."

 

Then Robert's question....

 

"If you have not already, soon enough you should be able to begin to piece it together. For now I shall only tell you this; I did not find you."

 

Xi sighed softly.

 

"One more question, hopefully you make it worth my time."

[Great, more vague answers.] he thought. He wanted to ask more questions, but decided to give the others a chance. [Who ever asks the next question, I hope they make it a good one.]
