So it begins.

 

I have gathered them here. They know nothing yet. That will change soon. I wonder how they will take to each other. Time will tell. Regardless, no more time can be wasted. The Experiment must now begin. Time to wake them up...

 

"Good morning. Welcome to the next part of your life."

 

The voice rang out in all of their ears. Earpieces, firmly attached in the ears of all of them. Inside came the unnerving and unnaturally changed voice on the other end. One by one, after hearing the voice, each of the subjects began to wake. Lying on the shore of a short beach was Yumi Yuki Ai, Ember Mors, Luce Angelo, Hazimie Azhar, and Rasiel Kasaragi. The wind blew over them as they lay sprawled over the sand in close proximity to each other. Just as they had been placed. Next to the beach was a mix of jungle and swamp that went deeper into the mainland. Besides that the beach was mostly barren. A wrecked fishing boat was rusted and decaying within walking distance, but nothing more. The waves lapped up on the shore softly...

 

Miles away lay an abandoned collection of bunkers and buildings. They surrounded an airstrip. Rusted machine parts lay strewn about, and any sign of activity at the airstrip had long since faded. On the ground in the middle of the airstrip lay several more people. Ren Cabret, Neisan, Kilek North, Tsuna Sasaki, and Sikota Urinakano. Two desolate bunkers flanked the airstrip they were on, with a control tower at the end of the strip. Forest flanked the airstrip on all sides, with a single winding road leading out. The wind cut through the trees and sliced past the bunkers onto the airstrip. Only the wind and the trees provided any sound to the desolate military installation...

 

Deep in the jungle was a pair of rusted jeeps parked next to a crumbling house. The jeeps were long past functioning, and their engines were removed recently as well. The house sat surrounded by the trees with a single road leading somewhere further into the jungle. Inside the house were the four other subjects; Robert Evans, Karu Kasaragi, Fulmen Aizen, Xander Steel, and Locke Stern. Part of the roof of the house had caved in, and most of the belongings and furniture were gone. Remaining in the house were a few pots and pans, and single picture in an imaculate frame on a table in the room where the four people were laying. Silence pervaded the house...

 

On this island the Experiment is to be conducted. The island itself is only a few miles across, but its jungles, beaches, and bunkers hold long-kept secrets. These people now find themselves as part of a deadly game. They will have to get to know each other, and work together to discover what is sought from them, and in the process they must learn what they seek themselves.

 

The voice buzzed through their earpeices once more.

 

"Time to wake up. The Experiment has begun. You won't want to be asleep for this... Wake up and meet your new friends... and enemies. Wake up...

 

...the game has begun."

Sylar's arms hurriedly were covered with darkness, protecting him from Isaac's spinal blade. He reached out, and grabbed the blade, and snapped it. "Sorry, did I break one of your toys?" He spoke, mockingly. His telekinesis lifted Joshua way from Isaac, then propped him against a nearby tree. Then, Sylar took a darkness blade, and thrust it into the crazed scientist's stomach. "Perish." He said, twisting the blade. Then he realized he had made a horrible mistake. Isaac's bloodokinesis would come into effect, totally screwing him over.

I think a better word would be biokinesis

Rasiel soon stood at Xander's side again after he pushed the button that maybe would kill both of them. If Fulmen figured out that Rasiel had the oh so wonderful idea to push the button that would cause maybe the slowest death, then surely she would be hurt or killed.

"Xander...what if Yumi dies...and Fulmen finds out...and then he lets his anger out on the one who came up with the idea to push that button..." she said through telepathy.

Ren drew in a breath as Sikota's wings draped over him.  In only a matter of a few moments, he felt his burns ease, and even the deep gash in his arm mended near to what it had been before.  After Sikota finished Ren sat up, extending his arms and giving himself a thorough examination.  His clothes were still charred and tattered; that couldn't not be remedied.  But at least he was no longer dying.  Even if he was still a little lightheaded from his sudden loss of blood.  Finally the redhead brought his gaze to Sikota, who stood before him grinning.

 

"You're the real deal, aren't you?" he managed, his lips curving in a gentle smile.  "Thank you, Sikota.  I am forever in your debt."

Tsuna watched as Ren was healed. She was happy for him to be okay but she stood there a bit confused. But that's impossible, she thought, only the real Sikota could do that but...i saw him die right in front of me. what the hell is going on? Tsuna stayed silent for a moment then turned around towards the direction of the radio tower. "Well...we should get going now, whenever you guys are ready." she said 

{If Yumi does.. perish.. and Fulmen found out why, you would not be singled out. We all picked this, we agree that this is the best one to pick. We had to make a choice, just like Karu had to make a choice.. all we can do is what he did.. choose what we think is best.

 

And I know that's what we've done.. You can't live with the guilt of something that's not your fault. This is not on us..

 

This is on Xi, he's the one who made the rules. All we can do is play his stupid game until.... until we win!!} Xander said to Rasiel through telepathy, a tear forming in his eye

 

{We have to trust in the decisin, and in Yumi.. and whoever she's with. Fulmen will understand. Besides.. he could be watching US right now.. with the decision of our fate in his hands.. }

 

"Xi, what happens now??" He said struggling a little to keep his voice from sounding shaky

"That's alright, I become slightly liquid when I get stressed." Ember spoke, waving away Silver's comment. She smiled a little bit, becoming more relaxed. "Anyway, we should probably get going. Whatever Xi has in store, sooner we get done, sooner we can go home." Ember said, beginning to start walking away.

Sylar stepped backwards. "Dang it..." he muttered under his breath. He placed his hand to his chest, and activated Joshua's healing light. Not quite as efficient as some sort of cellular regeneration, but it would work. Sylar scowled, and blades of darkness spun around him. He floated slightly above the ground, his wings propelling him. "I promised this boy I would protect his friends after killing him. If I can't even protect a dead body, then I will gladly let you dissect me."

Fulmen nodded. There wasn't anything else to do but follow Ember, and so he did. Everything seemed eerily quiet now; it had all become far too calm, when moments earlier Fulmen was racing for his life, then he had to launch missiles at a hopefully-vacant shack.

Fulmen got the feeling that the people there were more or less safe, but has passed it off as being too hopeful.

"So..uh, Ember.." Fulmen finally said, trying to break a bit of the ice so to speak.

Xi faced the group silently for a moment. Then...

 

"What's going to happen now? Exactly what you chose would happen. Watch the screen...."

 

The screen showed the room that Simon and Yumi were now trapped in. Without any warning it suddenly began to feel warmer. At first it was barely noticeable, then it became fairly warm, and within 30 seconds it was beginning to get a bit hot, with little sign of slowing down. The only door out was the blast door that Fulmen had left through, and that was well secured. The photo-booth in the center of the room was also not functioning, and wouldn't act as an elevator again. It was only Simon and Yumi, trapped in a continually hotter room. There were a variety of vents and heating coils from which the hotter enviornment seemed to be coming from, far to many to dismantle in due time. Xi never chimed in to explain the situation, it was only Yumi and Simon, the room they resided in, and an ever smaller amount of time to find out what to do...

Rasiel looked up at Xander, and unconvincing, small smile formed on her face.

"What makes you so sure that we'll win Xander? she asked through telepathy.

Rasiel went serious again, looking up to Xi.

"Are we aloud to move on...or do you have another challenge for us?" She asked.

"Phew." Simon wiped some sweat off his forehead. "It's... It's getting hot in here." He stumbled backward. "Heheh, I was never the best with excessive heat." He was getting woozy. He was getting woozy fast.

Ren hoisted himself up, surprised by his returned strength.  The redhead brushed off his trenchcoat before scanning his surroundings.  The shack was no where in sight; Neisan must've taken him to the retreat of the woods.  He traced Tsuna's (I almost said Gumi; can you believe that?!) gaze to the radio tower, its tiny light blinking in the far distance.

 

"Is that where we're going?" he asked the party.  "Do you think perhaps we could send a signal to those outside the island?  Call for some help?"

Xi smirked slightly.

 

"A new challenge? No. No, you made a choice Rasiel, you and your friends. For that I shall give you a sort of reward. You will decide just how rewarding it is, though."

 

The elevator from which the group had come from suddenly opened once more. But there was someone in it. Lira stepped out. But it wasn't Lira, not from appearance, it actually looked exactly like....

 

Karu.

Onto some other matters, Xi made a quick comment to Kijiya. "Please step inside your elevator, it shall take you to the surface, you have other matters I wish you to attend to."

(Oh no is Kijiya coming up to fight us!?)

 

Neisan eyed Sikota's healing with distrust. "I suppose if everyone else is going to call you Sikota, I will too. Let's get going before something finds us here." With that, Neisan picked up Kilek and began walking through the trees towards the radio tower.

Lira stepped out as Karu. he smiled and ran to Rasiel, embracing her in a tight hug. "Rasiel! You're okay! I'm sorry I had to do that back there...." Karu said to Rasiel. Lira spoke it in a perfect Karu voice.

 

"I don't have to touch you to kill you anymore." Isaac jumped back and moved the body of Sylar with just his blood that coursed through his body. It traveled all throughout his body and then solidified, blocking Sylar's blood from flowing in certain places. The blood would then turn back liquid and into a solid to force down the limbs and organs to do as Isaac pleased. Sylar's right hand began twitching, and Isaac forced down the hand to the spinning blades of shadow Sylar had made.

(lol...perfect Karu voice...*SIGH*)

 

Rasiel didn't move, Karu/Lira controlling her like a rag doll. No...this couldn't have been her brother...Her brother died and died in front of her eyes, there was no way he could have survived.

"And that is all you would have said..." she said quietly, breaking out of Karu/Lira's grip.

She switched herself to hide behind Xander so she was on the complete opposite side of Karu/Lira.

"Xander....that isn't him...that isn't Karu. That person isn't my brother." Rasiel said quietly.

In a burst of flame, Lira/Karu was sent flying against the wall, her guise annihilated by the sacred flames.

 

"Not again, milady!" The shadowy figure said to himself. "My reach is slowly expanding. I'll be out of here soon enough."

"It seems there have been complication, Lira. Well, I expect you to handle them." Xi's voice lacked any sort of surprise.

 

But something had surprised him.

(Stop Sikota. Sikota. Sikoootaaaa. Sikota. Stahp.)

 

Lira/Karu was halted and sent flying back from the 'sacred' flames. Her form as Karu was still intact, but severely burned down to the flesh. A blue spark transformed her again. "Damn it. I'll send you all to Hell." Lira grumbled. She was in Lira's normal, younger form. She took her scarf and sent a red spark through it, changing it into a sword. The burn marks were fixed with a simple change in feature back to normal, unburned skin. "Fine then. Rasiel...Xander...give me all you've got." Meanwhile, the memories of the shadowy man flowed through Lira's mind.

'She impersonated my brother...and Xi was expecting this...she works for Xi....those who work for Xi...killed Karu!' Rasiel thought.

Without a single word, Rasiel transformed into her demon form behind Xander's back.

"Do you work for Xi too?" she asked, making about three new daggers from darkness.

"I'm guessing you do...because you impersonated my Karu..." she said, stepping out from behind Xander, she stood in front of him.

"Of course you do!" Rasiel said, her insanity driven by her brothers death took over her again.

"Maybe If I fight you, I'll be able to kill Xi..." her voice having a slight change in tone.

Rasiel lept off her feet, running at a fast speed over to Lira before kicking her back. Rasiel was ready to fight now.

"Ya.. I know Ras.." Interrupted again (4 Times??) as fire erupted out of nowhere, throwing the Karu lookalike

 

"Ugh" Xander grunted because the fire had come pretty close to him and Rasiel

 

And then felt Rasiel transform behind him, and eventually step out in front of him

 

[Crud.. what is this, Xi??] He thought [There's no way I'll be able to calm Rasiel now.. so I might as well help her!!]

 

As Rasiel ran towards Lira, Xander stayed behind, he could help better from a little distance probably

(Goshdarnit, Yuffie. Forget what I posted before.)

 

Isaac's blood was drawm back towards him from Sylar, draining back through Isaac's veins. (The light can seal her wounds slowly... and then she has that darkness. How troublesome.) Isaac thought. He walked straighy forward towards Sylar, who was flying in the air. Taunting with his claws, he eventually just got to Joshua as Sylar still flew. He grabbed the kid and dug his claw into the ground, burrowing himself in alongside Joshua.

 

Lira scoffed at Rasiel. She was clearly surrounded in terms of quantity, but she could take them all. Lira began transforming as she walked closer to Rasiel. "I don't know who the Hell this Xi is really!" Lira spoke in her actual voice. "But I DO know that Karu had killed HIMSELF for you!" Lira's hair grew out longer as her face and voice finally changed. She spoke in a much calmer voice. "His and your father's suicide must be truly hard for you." Lira said. She was in the form and voice of Rasiel's mother.

Rasiel stopped in her tracks, biting her lip she looked to the ground, her eyes were covered by the shadow of her bangs.

"Shut up...just shut up!!" she yelled, breaking out in tears again.

"Why do you never go away!!!" Rasiel yelled once more,

"Xander...this is driving me insane...make her stop Xander..." she said though telepathy.

"Rasiel!!" He called out her, throwing out an arm and grabbing her with his tele and pulling her back to himself and putting his arm around her

 

{It's not really her, Rasiel. It's ok..} He said to her through tele

 

"Why don't you just leave her alone??!! You monster!!" Xander said angrily to Lira as he threw out his other arm toward her sending a telekinetic wall in her direction, it hit her, smashing her into the wall

 

"Leave Rasiel alone.."
