Even if you didn't like the first one, give this one a chance, it will be much better than the first one waaaay more loyal to the book

 

Pleez folks, I REALLY wanna c the whole series turned into movies, spread the word, etc. would be greatly appreciated!  

 

Just imagine how you would feel in Kingdom Hearts' place, and ask urselves, what would Aqua n Sora do?

Just watched the trailer a second time, paying more attention.

 

Yeah it's gonna be a piece of shit, probably. It looks like it's making an honest effort to fix the damage of the first film, which is good, but while simultaneously wrecking the second book... I guess you have to break something to fix something else. Kinda like covering up shit with another pile of shit... yeah, the other pile of shit is gone now, but now you just have more shit to deal with.

 

Granted, some things do look good... Annabeths hair is nice... Percy's hair has been destroyed... is it not supposed to be long? Why did they cut it short? Really? Why?

Tyson looks terrible. The fates themselves look pretty good, but it looks like the Taxi sequence is just gonna be pure crap. Apparently a chariot race was to tame.

 

The oracle, what little we see of her, looks nice. The voice itself is perfect, but her dialogue is shit. She's supposed to speak in prophecies, not carry on a conversation... the voice actress did a Quarian in Mass Effect though so that's awesome.

 

Nathan Fillion as the actor for Hermes is a pretty good choice. But only on the merit that it's Nathan effing Fillion. He could be playing Percy and I wouldn't care. But no, he isn't like how I pictured him in the book. Also, it doesn't look like he's going to help Percy solo like he did in the book, but rather help the trio after they have already left the camp, which is wrong.

 

It would appear that the entire plot point with Grover and the cyclops has been dropped, and it's based solely on the Golden Fleece. Not quite sure how I feel about that... Grovers search for Pan was a pretty important point for Grovers development, BUT it didn't have any impact on the main narrative, so it being trashed is actually something I can justify, and am okay with. Go figure.

 

Jury is still out on whether Circe is gonna show up... if she doesn't, then they've trashed a big part of Reyna's development if they ever get so far as to make a Heroes of Olympus series. I know that's thinking way to far ahead, but hey... I did want to see Percy turned into a guinea pig on film though... sad face.

 

But the Kronos plot point looks to be fixed, which is good. The Luke plot point seems to be fixed, which is good. Annabeth is blonde, good.

 

But yeah. It's gonna suck the big one.

What is ur problem? I mean its good to have opinions and all of that, but why be so negative and ruin it for other people? Keep an open mind, don't extort to negativity saying its gonna be shit, when i can guarantee you, having seen the movie in rough form myself, that it is not! Just give it a chance relax and keep ur optimism. You do no that by talking about it being shit, you sound like an idiot right? I knew this (excuse my language but he deserves it, if u only knew him) fat firetrucker in high school who always kept complaining about how movies n such were a "pile of dog shit"; all this negativity being spoiled and complaining, and guess what? He failed grade 12, and is currently going nowhere doing nothing with his life, even though he said he "found Jesus", he still went around being an ass and complaining and manipulating people

I respect and honour u for going by ur own opinion, however, You do realize that by calling it shit, you sound like a smart ass or a stupid bum right? I mean why do you wanna think that way? Does our World have not too much darkness and negativity in it to think about things like this? The most legit part of this is the effect they used for Thalia turning into a tree. (Unless it's in reverse, and it's actually her reverting from tree form.) I mean, that's firetrucking awesome looking. Hermes looks to be legit, but Nathan Fillion has that effect... I am disappointed that they pulled the 50 story robot card for S.O.M, since that was kind of Titans Curse thing. I mean it's not like that's what killed an important character in a major turning point or anything. That last seen with the slow motion Anaklusmos transformation... I am split down the middle. One part thinks it's awesome, the other thinks that it takes away a bit of the mystery of Riptide, seeing a detailed transformation like that. Makes it seem mechanical, not magical, and me no likey that part of it.

Reviews for Sea of Monsters have become very postive indeed. According to twitter reactions, within the first 30 minutes it easily sets up the story and makes up for the first film in a great way! Its a great action adventure and fans of the book will be VERY pleased! 

Any news on when it's actually coming to theaters yet? I'm hoping it really does make up for the first movie's mistakes...

I'm so excited it's getting good reviews I can't wait for the movie!! It's good to know that they haven't butchered it like they did before. I can't wait to see Tyson he's such a cutie
