I don't give a shit about playing in my computer as upgrading it everytime I need to play a new game just to update the specs is an expensive chore in itself.  Anyway,I think I know which video game devices I'm gonna have for the next 3 or 4 years Next generation my ass

A well-built PC dosen't need upgrading for at least three years, at most five, if you know how to care for one.

It is a future generation, but I don't think it is the "next" generation. It needs to take time for people to make such a huge transition like that. Personally, I prefer hard retail copies of games, it just feels natural. There's a certain pride that comes along with owning both the game and the case it comes in, as if to remind you "Hey, I got this game, and I'm damn glad I did!". Digital downloadable games are cool, but lately I've only found them useful for re-releases and remasters. In my opinion, they should just stick to that, create digital backups and databases of all the old games before they start disappearing into the void of time, because eventually nobody will know where to find Pong anymore.

Maybe, but I'm just not comfortable playing on a PC

When I play a video game I prefer playing them on a handheld like the DS3DS or on a home console

Just for the record, Sony decided to get rid of DRM long before the Xbox One said they would have it. Sony WAS considering it and had patents for it that were granted and published back in the summer-late fall of 2012. Fans and gamers were already starting to say they didn't want it to happen. The difference is that Sony listened and decided around the time of the original announcement for the PS4 that they would not include DRM. They didn't see a need to announce it though at the time, and instead simply took advantage of Microsoft's PR blunders at the initial Xbox One announcement, all the comments afterwards, and then even more at E3. Sony had already decided to get rid of DRM, for the benefit of the gamers, while Microsoft did it to save their system.

Well, more for the benefit of the Playstation brand first and foremost not only because of the whole we're here for gamers thing.

information has been leaked about that last year and there was a sort of backlash so I guess they decided to get rid of it back then.Alpha Omega Sin has talked about that in one of his previous videos.

Regardless of such, both should've never thought of DRM in the first place regardless if they got rid of it for the gamers or not

I am sure it has been confirmed Sony had already decided to not add DRM way before the Xbone reveal so it doesn't really count for anything. It is something that will be developed on in the future but the upcoming gen is much to early.

Gotta love how playstation fanboys finally shut up about "free online" when it turns out they not only have to pay for an online service, but one that costs more than Xbox Live.

I will never understand why a person calls another certain person a fanboy since they are a fanboy themselves. I never understood why people have this nonsense console war....Well anyways that is interesting that Sony was once planning DRM but they seemed like they listened to people to take it off. Microsoft did it because they saw how many people were going from xBox to the Playstation.

Well, this is getting really confusing. And instead of getting ourselves into the idiotic console war comments.Let's just wait until launch.

Then everything will be revealed whether all of what we've heard is fake or True

They didn't come up with DRM, it's been around for years. Steam, iOS App Store, Google Play, PSN, XBLA, Nintendo eShop. DRM isn't exactly a new thing, it was just going to be a first for disc based games on consoles.

When did I say DRM is a new thing dude???

Besides, buying a game from a digital store is different from being forced to be online on games that doesn't need online in the first place like a Final Fantasy game

Anyway, let's wait until launch because the argument now won't go anywhere because we don't have full information yet

So today I went to gamestop and there was a ps4 that was screaming "HEY, CUM PLAY WID MII"  so naturally i did. I didn't have to wait in a line because surprisingly most people were waiting for the wii u demo. The first thing I have to say- The controller is wonderful. It fits in your hand almost as comfortably as a gamecube controller and the buttons are all very nice and clicky. The d-pad also doesnt suck balls this time. The analog sticks weren't half as loose as the ps3 sticks which was pretty great. The menu layout was similar to the wii u demo layout were you scroll to the left to choose a game. But you could also press down to demo ps3 games, and there were a lot of them too, including 1.5. This leads me to believe that the gaikai service will support most, if not all, ps3 games. The two ps4 games I played were knack, and a puzzle psn platformer titled "contrast" . Knack was a pretty generic platformer and contrast was really creative and seems to be a very, very fun game. The graphics are nothing special, and look like pretty basic ps3 games if you ask me. They don't look as good as in the trailers, but these are just launch games so i'll let it pass. If I had to list one problem with my experience it would be the load times. sony claimed that there would be little to no load times.bull.shit. I had to wait 30-45 seconds for each game to load and to exit the game.i even checked to see if the thing was broken or not. It was really terrible and is something I hope they fix in the future because I ain't buying that shit if it has those load times. Overall my time was just ok, nothing spectacular and the load times really just got to me.

I'm going to get one now.

Not even a minute is great enough for me. This is what's wrong with our gaming generation; picky gamers who think too highly of something and expect way too much of one thing to only be disappointed in the actual product. Load times are different things from start up and shut downs.

I'll probably wonder where the wrongs people see in the PS4 are when I get my hands on it just like I did with Proud Mode in KHFM (which was 10x easier than my original KH playthrough on beginner... >.>).

What do you mean by Not even a minute is great enough for me. I honestly dont know what you mean. But yeah, the ps4 has been really overhyped

So does most gamestops have htat as a playable PS4 demo? Also, 1.5 HAS A DEMO? Since when? there's not a demo on psn.

As in load times that are from less than a minute to none at all. That's great!  Overhyped? It's the best thing to ever happen to home console gaming! :P

well it was in the demo section along with tales of xilia and the like. I didn't click on it. Yeah, most do

When I say overhyped i mean this. We don't know all of its errors and to say a console thats not even out yet is the best thing ever is kind of dumb

Edited by Death the Kid

Well if its like the WiiU they will most likely have an update when it comes to load times if enough people complain to them about it.Anyways, its good to hear a persons hands on experience was good. All I need is a passable console for KH3 anyway so its good to hear that its at the very least ok

Of course there're always errors, but that doesn't change the appeal, the games, etc. PlayStation controllers have always been great. The best so far being the PS3 controller that according to your words isn't so nice.  However, when it comes to me and my luck with systems, I'll probably never have an error with the PS4 which for me, makes it the best. (I'm known for having great luck with damaged consoles working perfectly fine.)

Ever played Sonic 06 where load times are over 30 seconds for every load screen??? and that game had hundreds of load screen....do the math.

Of course he's gonna be annoyed by load times if he had to experience them again

It still can be fixed with updates, but I'd rather wait

Anyway,I'm gonna wait for the inevitable Ps4 Slim model.....it's gonna happen...trust me

It's a rule I established since the 360.....never buy any console at launch....wait for the upgraded model that will fix every problem the previous model had

I'm gonna assume that this is sarcasm

Never had a problem like that with any game I've ever played. Plus, why would I play a game that's competing with E.T. for the worst video game ever?

As for me on the console buying. I'm waiting for an official release date for FFXV before I get myself one.

A bit of sarcasm for fun. Sometimes Jimmies just deserve to be rustled.

Well,I knew it's sarcasm but some people might not see it that way especially in sites like vg247 where PS fans and Xbox fans are murdering each other....no seriously go to the comment section there and see for yourself

As for me,I'll get the Ps4 once FFXV is released because as of now I have no reason to get the system since MGS 5 is also gonna be released on PS3 and Xbox 360

Dun give me ideas to rustle mor jimmies! xD

Yeah, right now my main interest is FFXV, KH3, and of course being able to play my FFXIV account on a higher quality system so I have less problems to run into.
