the PS4 was announced yesterday and will be seen today in New York. but it will be released sometime by Christmas, and i don't know about you but I'm excited for it. it could be the system for KH4 and up. and I'm not sure but this could be the controller for it:

It figures that as soon as I finally get a PS3 that they announce the PS4 about two months later.

I think it's nice. Controller looks cool, the social features are sweet, and Killzone: Shadow Fall and Media Molecule's new game seem pretty awesome. Could be a real solid console. Of course, I need to see more titles for it and the price before I deem whether I should forsake my wallet for it, but at the moment, I'm fine with just picking up a PS3 during the summer.

Well I was going to start saving money for a PS3, but now I guess I will wait for the PS4. Does anyone know if it will have backwards capability for PS3? Games that would be awesome! ^_^

Looks cool but not sure if i'm going to buy it...

the confrence just completely undersold it for me as a PC gamer. yes obveously games can be better on a PC but there are console exclusives that i would consider buying a console for.

 

the one thing that ticked me off was how the guys said "like computer CPU's super charged for gaming" do you even understand how hardware works, or the fact that such CPU's already exist? you don't super charge a CPU its faster or its not, theres no gaming specific qualitys.(kinda a weird personall nitpick but thats just me)

 

and there were a few other things. the ammount of ram was impressive but its going to be restricted to probobly 6 GB or less because the PS4 would need 2GB running in the background for games.

 

the streaming also i dont think should have been focused on as much. i want to play  games, with freinds too, but everything they are talking about with it being so fast you can join freinds in an instant just isnt feasable on an average internet data plan in my eyes. and you shouldnt make a big selling point something a minority of the  fanbase will have acces to, especially since the fanbase is already pretty limited.

 

EDIT: i will give them credit though for letting the PSvita be a controller, thats something i've always been thinking since the WiiU has been announced that nintendo should have done with the 3DS, though they would need to release a model with a second joystick built in.(which many people would love)

 

i think i'll just stick with PC gaming regardless of what KHor other title gets released, if sqare is smart they will port it to PC eventually

yeah, I know. that's what I did I just could see that coming though lol

*sigh* I just don't know what to think about the PS4... After all those years of waiting for a PS3, I finally get one and they go and announce the PS4. Well I guess there's no use moping. I'll just hold out for the slimmer/cheaper model. I hope KH3 is on the PS3 though!

They're not going to show all their cards early in the game. We probably won't get any more spec info until E3. I'm sure that's why they are announcing this now to build up interest until the big convention.

 

True, but I'm still a little disappointed. Sony usually does all of the innovative stuff when it comes to gaming tech. Sure the graphics upgrade and new controller is nice and all, but Sony is usually the company in the industry that tries out something new, even if they aren't sure how well it's going to do. There is nothing really exciting here though, they might as well call it the Playstation 3 Ultra or something. 

 

Hopefully E3 shows some more promising things for this generation of consoles. And no, I don't think the Wii U and PS4 look like bad consoles. They are great, fantastic even, but neither are trying anything new, which the industry desperately needs, something new. 

The PS4 isn't to early. It's been 7 years since the PS3 came out.

 

It's just coming to fast for me. I've only had my PS3 a year, and I'm realizing that I'm still enjoying that and that I'm completely prepared.for this particular party.

The depending factor I think on which console will be more successful will probably be based on early exclusive titles and online interactions. It has been shown that console architecture doesn't mean as much as people want to believe it is. Also now that Sony has alliances with Blizzard, and Bungie is giving exclusive content to Playstation users for their game Destiny, they seem to be in a pretty good standing.
