So, I've been thinking about buying the game to get myself hyped for XIII-3 since the gameplay actually interests me and looks tons better than XIII and XIII-2's gameplay from what I've seen. And before anyone says anything there is no way I'm picking up XIII since that game is a waste of money with its crappy gameplay and junk. I'm asking about XIII-2 because it's slightly more improved than XIII and looks a bit more interesting.

Fool. No, the game sucks. 13 was way better. but if you are set on buying it and you have an ebay account, I can sell you 13-2 or both for a reasonable price.

it was a lot better than 13. although both ere good enough in my opinion.

XIII-2 is great but it'll be hard to understand what's going on without playing XIII but it's your choice and also XIII-3 isn't a direct sequel so knowledge of the prior games isn't really required

I haven't completed XIII-2 yet, but so far I don't really care for it.  It's not a bad game by any means, but the story and characters feel a little generic to me.  But then again, I really liked XIII, so if you didn't care for the 1st game you might find yourself liking its sequel.  It just didn't continue XIII very well--not like I'd been anticipating, at any rate.  They seemed to take the story and turn in unrealistic, but perhaps that's just my opinion.  But again, bear in mind that I haven't completed XIII-2 yet, so my opinion may not be the most reliable.

XIII-2 is better in lots of ways. The only thing is that the story isn't as focused on the characters as in XIII-1, but its still kinda complicated like any FF game, and it is non-linear like most FF games, with tons of extra stuff to find. I love it, and its easier to PLatinum than XIII, since it doesn't have a bullshit trophy like Treasure Hunter was in FF XIII.

The ending kinda sucks though, but its only setting up the story for XIII-3.

I think XIII is great personally. XIII-2 is good too. I am probably less picky than most people, but still I think they are both great games. Also, i think the XIII battle system is cool! It's different than a lot of systems and it definitely makes the player think and plan ahead, requiring more strategy than other systems and especially more than your typical button mashing rpg.

I liked XIII more but still recommend for XIII-2, it is really worth to buy.

I thought it was fun...and only $20 so yeah buy it

How can you judge a game without playing at least a portion of it??? This is like I say Sonic Generations is a piece of shit without trying it.How do you know that XIII sucks without even playing the first chapter of the game

 

Get XIII used or borrow it from a friend for free instead of throwing judgement without proofs.

 

Then try 13-2 because the story of XIII is connected to it.
