What happened to this once great company? They use to take so many risks, and succeeded very well (except with the Sega Saturn). They had tons of great franchises, and made fantastic consoles (the Dreamcast is one of the best consoles EVER). Now they are just rehashing games and constantly releasing classics. They also re-release Sonic games like crazy, it's not that bad, but come on.  The newer games are decent, but I feel like they just don't deliver as well.

Altered Beast

Chu Chu Rocket

CRAZY TAXI

Ecco

Gunstar Heroes

Headhunter

House of the Dead

JET SET RADIO

Nights

Panzer Dragoon

SHENMUE

Space Channel 5

Virtua Cop

VECTORMAN

Some games from these franchises have been re-released in HD, but that doesn't count because it's not a new game entirely. They still have new stuff coming out, yes. But I really think the company has gone downhill ever since the dreamcast failed. Just to let you know, I'm not attacking Sega I'm just saying they are nowhere near as great as they once were...

Microsoft/Xbox went omnomnom on them. Sega is now Microsoft/Xbox's biznich.

Sega was so much better back in the dreamcast and some of the saturn years imo. They still make some good games but they have a lot of meh titles now. Like that soccer game they made an announcment site for. 

I kinda liked Vectorman... Hope they bring him (and the music) back.

Yeah agreed, and it's even sadder that Dreamcast had a fantastic library of games but was overlooked. It was ahead of it's time even.

A lot of companies choose to play it safe.  Considering they did have some flops, in this current economy releasing a classic game that was popular to begin with and so will most likely generate good sales compared to a new risky venture that could result in massive losses. Also, the console wars are so fierce between Nintendo/Sony/Micosoft they probably don't see any benefit in joining, when they literally are selling the high end most expensive pieces and the cheaper family friendly pieces already.

Bleh, I think SEGA (I always type it in all caps, since that's how they stylize it,) is doing okay right now game-wise. Sonic is FINALLY decent again after Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations, and they've released a bunch of new great games last year like Rhythm Thief and Hell Yeah. But I do agree on the whole franchise part. SEGA's main problem right now is variety, they need to branch out in better ways.

Hopefully Nintendo won't suffer the same fate, but with Mario instead of Sonic.

I want them to come back. I say, out with Microsoft and in with Sega.
