Have You Ever Been Forced to Buying a Digital Copy Of A Game?

Posted

So, pretty much what the title says. Was there a time where there was no more physical copies of a certain game and you had no other choice but to get the digital version of that game? Has that happened to you before?

Final Fantasy 7,8,9, and Tactics...stil waiting for Tales of Eternia to be put on PSN

I only buy digital copys if the physical is hard to get or really expensive.

No.

I generally buy games used anyway, so they have to be used physical copies (unless you count the Zelda Four Swords that came preinstalled on my used (and awesome) 3DS I bought).  The few games I buy/will buy on release (KH series is really the only one, though I would happily preorder Majora's Mask if it was released on the 3DS) aren't popular enough to run out of copies.  I've got all of them without preordering, I'm only preordering KH1.5 now because I have the money to do so.

Never with games. But I've had to do this with movies a couple of times...

hmm... I only bought 80ms indie games for xbox and trails HD game in Digital download. (400ms on sale, it was a steal)

But other than that, I havent been forced to resort to digital copies yet.

Nope, but I was forced to buy(for free) inFamous and LBP digitally when PSN was hacked.

Only if there's a game that's only available through digital distribution (e.g. Corpse Party), or the price of a physical copy just doesn't have a good resale value or I can get a better deal on a digital copy copy (e.g. when Psychonauts went on sale on Steam).

Had to buy Fire Emblem Awakening as a digital copy. I wasnt sure when they would get more physical ones and I wanted the free DLC, so I went ahead and bought it to be safe.

Yep.  Had to get the Sims 3 Generations that way because no store I went to had it.

No, I've always downloaded my games so that I could have then wherever I go

You make it seem like a bad thing

Why would you be forced to purchase a video game? Lol?

Well, I meant as in if you had to buy a digital copy of a game if there were no more retail copies lol.
