Kingdom Hearts III is going to come after two other games that have yet to be announced, both of which were confirmed to not have Sora as a main character. (one of them is possibly a Riku game, the other is possibly about young Xehanort..but that's for another topic.)

 

For Reconnect to be a game, we'd need for Sora to be the main character. "Reconnect" was most likely just a term they used.

 

Point me into the direction of the KH game titled "Kingdom Hearts: Deep Dive"....wait, there isn't one.

I was one of those idiots who started thinking that Reconnect was going to be one of the new games, until you pointed out that Sora wouldn't be the main character in them. I forgot about that.... >.>; *head/desk*

if there is a riku game, even though it's not THAT important, they could have it where you experience the riku's story from kh 1, but skip re com since we already know what happened there, and even though this is off topic, isn't the letter that sora recieve from the king at the end of kh2 the letter the king sent to sora at the end of kh coded, and him deciding what he is going to do is at the end of kh bbs?

My guess was that KHIII would be reconnect as reconnect would be pretty major. However, it would not be called reconnect because it is technically the 3rd major game, so they would probably leave it at KHIII. Personally i really don't see how the next game with sora can't be reconnect, and since KHIII will definitely have sora as the main character, then well, yeah. Or maybe KHIII will actually be called, Kingdom Hearts III Reconnect. or maybe i am completely wrong and this post was a waste of time.

 

So, in short i believe that KHIII=Reconnect.

Kingdom Hearts: Deep Dive is referring to KH: Days because it has Roxas has the main character. The title will be Kingdom Hearts III but not before 2 other games are released. I'm thinking that 1 game will cover the 10 year gap between BBS and KH1 showing how Xehanort and ATW worked together to uncover the "heart of the world" theories they have and possibly show all the apprentices losing their hearts and becoming nobody's. Game 2 will most likely feature Riku as the main character since he is an important character, but doesn't really have a game featured around him (Com:RR doesn't really count) and his connection with the past (having seen Terra and the Keyblade when he was young)

It will not be a riku story sadly. It will be one, of mickey's time as a apprentice and growing with the keyblade, and xanehorts story. How do I know this? On khwiki, there is a interview from nomura, and in it normua says that there are four main storys in kingdom hearts series. Soras story (kh1,kh2,kh com,kh coded), rikus missing story (kh re:com after you beat soras story) xanehorts missing story, and mickeys time as an apprentice. We have played soras and rikus story, but not xanehorts or mickeys story.

all i know is that if the next game is the last that sora will be main character nomura said that sora will be the hero until the end coz did u notice that all the gams that sora doesnt star in he somehow becomes the theme of the game at the end like 358 xion goes back into him birth by sleep everyone is saying his name

Keep in mind Nomura said you can look forward to Soras adventures soon. So while the next games might tell anotehr story, they could well star Sora.

A Riku game wouldn't be bad, certainly alot of untold story, plus he plays similar to Sora, but with enough unique twists of his own. Personally I think that they're going to develope Mickey. Stop and think about it. You barely see him. He keeps running around in KH2, he only appears once in KH1 and 358/2 Days. He's not really there during CoM. And then the whole Apprentice part.

And what was he doing during the time he was wearing a cloak?

Xehanort has a sort of mixed possibility, he should in theory have a keyblade (Unless you mean young Xehanort from before BBS?) but i really can't see them telling a story from his perspective.

You know what would catch everybody completely off guard? A Kairi game.

And it's not like an aqua game is out of the completely ou of the question.

But hey, Nomura is a crazy guy, who knows what might happen.

I think if you guys read Nomuras Ultamania Interview you would understand more about the two other games besides KH3

Nomura's said that both of the two games to come before KH3 [meaning KH3 will probably not exist until 2013] will not star Sora. One of them will be about someone we don't think is very important to the story, but is. The other one, we don't know.
