Dio Brando 5,810 Posted May 1, 2013 Do you think that the next Zelda game would need voice acting or not??? While I know lots of you guys will bring the"EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME PRINCESS" meme whenever someone talks about voice acting in Zelda, but honestly I don't mind VA in Zelda as long as it doesn't mean "Cutscenes over gameplay". If Kid Icarus Uprising got a fantastic voice acting,I think Zelda can do it too. But at the same time I don't mind no VA as long as the game has high-quality gameplay and great story
xxClouDxxmoon 901 Posted May 1, 2013 Idunno, I think Zeldas done alright without it. Although it would be nice to see them do one game with it.
griann 59 Posted May 1, 2013 I never felt like they really needed it. But if they want to do it, I won't mind as long as it doesn't become more of a movie than a game. I highly doubt they will do it for The new Zelda game they announed, though. I don't know why, but for some reason I can see VA rather happening on a console Zelda game than a handheld one. But anyway, there are some Zelda games to look forward to!
Britipinojeff 95 Posted May 1, 2013 zelda doesnt really need any voice acting. and i feel like if they did add voice acting then something might happen to kill the game like some crappy voice acting or too many cutscenes.
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted May 1, 2013 I dunno it would just feel too weird since i'm used to the classic non-voiced Zelda. It just doesn't need it imo. 1 Demyx. reacted to this
Demyx. 10,064 Posted May 1, 2013 They've already killed Zelda for me. They might as well kill it some more.

That is what's worrying me the most,I'm afraid that if they included voice acting they might add alot of cutscenes which is something I really don't want to happen because I got sick of games this gen that has more cutscenes than Gameplay(Except MGS4 even thought 90% of MGS4 are cutscenes). Now that I think of it.I don't think Zelda would need any voice acting,it can be a nice addition only if it's done right without overflowing the game with cutscenes
Zola 3,038 Posted May 1, 2013 I'd prefer it if they stuck to saying stuff like "Ah!" like they usually do when there's dialogue.

Weiss 8,279 Posted May 1, 2013 Zelda is better without voice acting. Don't fix what already works. 1 Dio Brando reacted to this
WakelessDream 2,297 Posted May 1, 2013 "Hey! Listen!" is enough voice acting for me!~ Actually as much as I love voice acting in video games, I think Zelda's done just fine without it, aside from the occasional gibberish from Midna, Fi, or even Zelda herself (when she was singing) I don't think the Zelda games really need voice acting. Isaix 924 Posted May 1, 2013 I don't mind whether or not they add voice acting on Zelda Wii U.As long as they have good voice actors there's nothing wrong with it,I don't understand why it seem to be a problem for so many people.

Because sometimes it means long tedious cutscenes.Just look at MGS4 and FFXIII Both of those two are almost 80% cutscenes
Hei 3,233 Posted May 1, 2013 I'm conflicted with them not having voices like usual, or trying something new with the series. At the very least, have like some kinda of trailer or something to see what it'd be like, and let the community decide.

Hei 3,233 Posted May 1, 2013 Or Do an anime-style trailer like Pokemon Black and White to see how things would go Any sort of promotional thing would be awesome, just to gives us an idea. And seeing an anime Zelda trailer would be sweet
Ghost 1,857 Posted May 1, 2013 I can tell you one thing, and that's whoever's voicing Link, whether he's a beautiful young man or an elderly one, will have a crapton of fangirls and fanboys after him, IF he voices it well, that is. I'm open to the idea, but in a way I think it would take away from the LoZ..."feel". I don't know, maybe it's just me. I didn't care for the chat options in Skyward Sword, because I feel like Link pretty much does anything and everything he can to help people out, and it kind of leaves his personalities (depending on the game) up to the players. There should be a topic saying, "Who do you think would be the best voice actor for Link?" Crap. Now I'm tempted to write it on ZeldaDungeon.
Dave 5,715 Posted May 2, 2013 I will always prefer a mute Link and a non-voiced game. The wonderful thing about Link is that he is whoever you want him to be, and I believe that's why the games have such longevity: the main character's lack of personality gives the player a chance to impose their own ideas on the story, and makes it feel more personal. To script Link would take away that. Also, I think half the charm of Zelda is communicating in those quick sound bites. Seriously, you can just yell out "Tyaaaaaaa!" and people will know exactly what you're talking about. 2 Ghost and Dio Brando reacted to this
RoxSox 3,593 Posted May 2, 2013 It will be jarring, I imagine. But not necessarily bad.
