I haven't seen anything about this during my usual lurking about on Siliconera and GameFAQs (usually I get news pretty fast between the two), so I'm leaning towards it not being true. I do agree that it's exciting, though. Personally, I would like some new stages as DLC.

I'll be joining you in owning a Ness amiibo May 29. I mean, assuming Gamestop doesn't cancel my pre-order last minute...

 

I'm also hoping to import a Shulk amiibo soon. I just need to find one at a good price.

Oh, so am I. I'd much rather be able to go down to Gamestop (Or some other, closer store like Walmart) and pick up Shulk, Captain Falcon, and others for normal price. I'm considering taking a risk and holding off until May 1 to see if I can pick up a Shulk when they restock, but I'm worried that a lot of other people will have the same idea. After seeing the line for my Ness amiibo, I'm not sure that I could pick up a Shulk.

Funny enough, Gamestop didn't have a record of my pre-order for Ness on my account. It was only for me still having the receipt on hand (a really faded one at that) that I was like "nope here it is!" ..... So it wasn't too bad. I tried to find the Lucina amiibo but it seemed that if you hadn't pre-ordered then tough luck.

 

As for Shulk, if you cannot find him at a reasonable price anywhere near you then I'd highly recommend importing him. There are plenty of sites that stock a lot of Japanese products (think PlayAsia or something) and the amiibos are region free and function the same. Shulk sadly is still rather pricey in places, I saw him the other day for like $30 on a site, but I guess it's cheaper than eBay. Honestly, I hope Shulk is gets another print for when Xenoblade Chronicles X comes out. It sucks that he was pretty much gone before he hit the shelf.

That's why I'm keeping my receipt. I've heard too many stories about them screwing up in their records to not have a backup plan.

 

Yeah, I'm planning on doing that. They used to be $30 on Amazon and eBay, but now they've gone up to $40 on both. Playasia's out of stock, so I'll be searching around on some other sites. I'm hoping for another restock soon, too. There's one May 1, but I have no clue if it's just for pre-orders or not.

Same here... I heard Japan's getting a restock soon, though, so hopefully other regions will get more as well.

My problem is that Wave 3, I had plenty of time to preorder, including Shulk. Wave 4 is just bullshit Nintendo refuses to acknowledge.

Speaking of restocks, I guess that NoE responded to the stock issues.

Hopefully NoA will also focus on more restocks. We've got Mega Man, Sonic, Sheik, and Toon Link a lot more common now. Hopefully more can follow them.

Hey, something came in the mail today!

 

I finally got one! Told you I'd get it before you, Spider.

 

The box is kinda beat up (As you can probably see in the image), but since I'd consider it a waste to leave this thing sitting in its plastic prison, that's not a big deal. It's already level 41! It's definitely not bad, but I think I'll need to spot train it to use Monado Arts better. It's kinda weird about how it chooses them. It cycles through all of the arts five times before settling to one, which is usually Speed, Jump, or Buster. I've been trying to train him to battle other characters, but I might need to stick to Shulk for these last few levels. It uses Up Smash a lot, too. I think I can definitely train it to be a powerful amiibo, though!

 

Also, before anyone asks, I named it Alvis in the game. Went with the Riki coloring (Only one with purple).

 

Also, just throwing this out there, but Japanese amiibo boxes are kinda strange. The backs of the boxes are totally different from the American boxes (and I'd imagine the European boxes are similar to those). I might add a comparison picture if anyone asks (I keep the cardboard part of the boxes for some weird reason. ) It's still nice to finally have Shulk, though!

It's awesome you finally got your hands on one! Shulk is a neat amiibo and it's good that you didn't end up missing out on it (I hope it wasn't too pricey!).

The layout on the top half of the back of the box is really different. I'll post a comparison, but that might take a while since I'm busy at the moment.

My cousin picked up Shulk and was actually pretty good with him even though he only does everything for shits and giggles. I let him name and train the Shulk amiibo. I never will be the strongest Shulk amiibo.

Punch-Out!- Uh... Doc Louis would be cool to see, but since he's in Little Mac's victory poses, I doubt he'd get in. Any of the boxers could take a spot and I'd be fine with that.

 

Yoshi- Kamek. I do consider Yoshi to not just be part of Mario's franchise in Smash, and he's been alone since the N64 game. Kamek is the best choice I can think of.

 

F-Zero- I haven't played any of the F-Zero games past X, so I don't know a whole lot about who could be included. I've seen Black Shadow brought up often, so I guess I'll just go with him.

 

Animal Crossing- If he wasn't in the background on Smashville, I'd say K.K. Slider. Maybe they could work around that, like what they did with Link on the Spirit Tracks stage.

 

Xenoblade- I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Seven is my #1 most wanted character for Smash DLC. If, despite their trophy in the Wii U version of the game, they're still considered too much of a spoiler, I'd say Reyn. Elma would be interesting to see, but I'll hold off on X characters until Smash 5 comes around.

 

Wario- Jimmy P would be pretty cool to see in the game. Or they could include 9-Volt, and let him use attacks based off of retro Nintendo games that aren't included in Smash.

I'm about to get this thread back on track, here's something interesting.:

 

I doubt it means anything. Sakurai wouldn't want anyone from WayForward to casually say on a public website that Shantae was going to be in Smash. I think it's just their way of getting more support for her to be in Smash.
