Back during the days of the PS1 we needed 2 or 3 disks just to complete one game. And now in the future we have discs that come with 2 or 3 games in them. Like as if everything's been switched around. it's ironically funny, don't you think?

Strange isn't it

Aha yeah it's pretty ironic if you ask me and i see what you did there.

they still do that, halo 4 and battlefiled 3 on the xbox(dvds not blu ray) both have 2 disks plus you need to download the multiplayer....

Not really. It's called technology.

PlayStation One used CD-Roms

PlayStation 2 used DVDs

Xbox 360 used HD DVDs

Nintendo Wii & Wii U use Nintendo's special Blu-ray Discs

PlayStation 3 & 4 use normal Blu-ray Discs.

PlayStation 4 will be able to use 250 GB Blu-ray Discs.

That's just called the old 360. Microsoft firetrucked up and used HD DVDs instead of Blu-ray Discs.

Fool. No, it is not ironically funny.

Everyone else here thinks it is.

Always felt like the more discs always called for a great and long game, love multi-disc games

Everyone else here thinks it is.

Well it really isn't, it's just technology evolving lol

at the time it made sense though because Blu-ray was expensive and new. The PS3 was the cheapest bluray player on the market at $600. It cost over $800 to make each PS3 and took like 6 years for the company to make a profit again. Now bluray is a reasonable cost and not something big and new and it has become the standard disc format, but HD DVD seemed like it was the next thing until Sony helped pioneer bluray and put it in the PS3 and it destroyed HD DVD.

Newer and more advanced discs have more capacity.

Also nowadays we have discs that have On-Disc DLC in which devevlopers locks already completed content within the game and sell it as DLC

Back in the old days we had all the content inside the DiscCartridge and we never needed a thing like DLC.....Good times

That is a extremely exaggerated.

Nah it's not. 250 GB Blu-ray Discs are available. And Sony can use it for a game if they need too.

Don't forget the 360.

Microsoft is always stuck back one step.

Considering I learnt about the capacity of different discs when I was at KS3 I don't really find it surprising, I expected it.

Everyone else here thinks it is.

Fool. I'm still allowed an opinion. He asked us what we thought.

The PS4 won't be able to play all types of Blu-ray discs though. Quad-layer 100GB ones won't work but dual-layer 50GB ones will.

Just because a Blu-ray disc exists doesn't mean it'll instantly work on the PS4, if the type isn't compatible that is.

I'm sure it does, and if not yet they can when needed. They added Blu-ray 3D via an update and that would be harder than different sizes of space.

Good point.
