KH3D Why is it that in this game, we only have ONE SECRET BOSS?

Recommended Posts

What is up with that? If the 3DS can handle PS2 games, it could easily have as many secret bosses as in KH2 and KH1, right? Most KH titles(Save for COM, Coded and 358/2 Days, but those were for GBA and DS which probably didn't have enough space) have at least 2 or 3 extra bosses, if not more. KH3D should've had more. Re fighting previous bosses DOES NOT COUNT. I expected Nomura to actually give us a couple new bosses that are stronger then refighting the old ones, but nope. He cheats us out of it this game, even though the 3DS probably could handle it. The question is, WHYYYYYYYYYYYY?

Probably because of what you said, they probably counted the secret portals as secret bosses and thought throwing in a load would just give players too much to do where it'd seem tedious.  I think there should have been more secret bosses, I would have hoped for one that actually hint towards some of the 13 darknesses we haven't seen at all, even small hints like a completely cloaked figure that has familiar moves or patterns in their fight just, to where it would be open to change.

I remember Nomura said they put so much stuff in KH3D, that there was only enough space for two save files. Taking this statement into account, I think they didn't have enough room for more secret bosses.

That's so true. Maybe they were out of good ideas. Most of the previous secret bosses were usually foreshadowing a new antagonist character to be shown in the following game, Like Xemnas on KH FM, Lingering Will on KH2 FM, and the ones on BBS (Who everyone on this site should know). It seemed BBS had a plethora of. Secret bosses. But i'm guessing that means we won't really see any new original KH characters in KH3. But that's probably not true. It's just speculation.

O_O WHAT? THEY COUNTED THOSE PORTALS AS SECRET BOSSES? BULL S**T. THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TO DO IN KH3D EVEN WITH THOSE AND JULIUS. ITS TOO F***ING SHORT, BUT NOMURA COULDN'T SEE THAT? What kinda bull crap is that? Seriously. *facepalm* I hoped for one to hint towards the XIII darknesses too, but instead we got Julius, who probably won't have anything to do with KH3, unless its Pete.

He always doesn't have a space....

You expected anything more then that from me? xD

lol the 3ds cannot handle ps2 games xD its more like a psp/ps1.

It can, ask Weiss, she knows.

O_O REALLY? KH3D WAS SO SHORT!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY. And they said they put too much stuff in KH3D? They put too much stuff in BBSFM. KH3D has so much less stuff compared to BBSFM. Pfft. Fricking Nomura trolling us again.

My guess is that Nomura ended up having too much unused content in the game, and that took up alot of data that could've easily gone to putting extra stuff in the game. Which is why KH3D is way too short.

Yes i agree. Also, Xehanort was not in KHFM, the secret boss was Xemnas.

Im thinking maybe Julius might be Pete, and thats why he was a secret boss in KH3D. I mean, Maleficient said she had "big plans" for Pete, so maybe she turned him into this crazy monster. They share a strong resemblance.

I'm not saying they did, just that they might have seen them as small secret bosses because they're secret portals with bosses.

I doubt they're that far into development in KH3 (in terms of actual enemies) where they could have made a secret boss that hints at the games enemies (least I'd rather think they didn't include a secret boss like that because of those reasons instead of pure developer laziness and sloppiness) , I feel like Julius was pointless and just a filler since they didn't have another person lined up, I really can't see Pete being a major threat in KH3

Actually, for everyone saying Julius might be Pete, he was from an old Disney cartoon called "Runaway Brain". There are actually theories for what he'd do in KHIII, also. Very interesting ones at that...

BBS has two secret bosses but those aren't actually secret more than optional bosses as they get unlocked by simply progressing through the game without too much requirements(Not counting Final Mix or the multiplayer arena bosses)...I count only regular versions)

KH2 has only Sephiroth ( it wasn't until KH2FM that we got rematches with Org.XIII members and the fight with the Lingering Will)

KH1 probably has the most:Kurt Zisa,Phantom,Ice Titan,Sephiroth(Xemnas was only in Final Mix)

and just like KH2, KH3D has only one additional boss which is Julius(Which is really easy in my opinion)

So to be honest I don't feel cheated in terms of additional bosses(I call them that because they're not secret enough to make you do additional requirements)

The only thing I feel being cheated about is that....all Final Mixes(except KH1FM which is with the collection) are all Japan exclusive

Well, I meant that Nomura always doesn't have a space for extra things in his games

Oh, i thought you meant that i didn't put anything seperating the lines i wrote into paragraphs. Nevermind. xD

I feel cheated, since the Final Mixes prove that Nomura could EASILY add more bosses into the game. But he didn't this time, for some stupid reason.

At least we're finally getting the Final Mixes now. With DLC nowadays, the days of making Final Mixes are over, as Nomura could just make Final Mix DLC that EVERYONE CAN GET.

have you heard of Tales of the Abyss.  seriously.

I guess its pretty predicable that this forum would not understand how technology works... oh well i dont mind explaining.

You may think that the 3ds can can handle ps2 games because ps2 era games have been ported to it, but there are huge differences between the two if you compare them.

ps2 native resolution: 640 x 480

3ds native resolution: 256 x 192

not only are the games scaled down to a lower pixel ratio but they have less polygons which is not as noticeable on the smaller resolution screen. the 3ds also has less RAM which means that it can handle scaled down versions of linear games but if you tried to port GTA San Anderas your 3ds would probably melt in your hands.....

Also

KH3D isn't short

The game took me 25-30 hours on Proud Mode

While BBS took me 15-20 hours to beat on Critical and proud mode

Besides, they didn't put too much in BBS other than Multiplayer, the (mario party-esque) mini game, which is boring, the mini games in Disney Town isn't that much.and the game suffer from repitition as we visit the same worlds 3 times with little to no differences with mostly the same bosses(except for some bosses),also the bosses are the easiest in the series(Main bosses not optional ones).....so yeah, for me I like DDD waaaay more than Birth by Sleep

Also, chill down dude, you're angering yourself over one boss while KH2 has one too. Also,we'll get thw 2,5 HD collection sooner or later

What are some of the theories saying what Pete will do in KH3?

Julius, not Pete. Basically, in the cartoon, Julius was a laboratory experiment that switched bodies with Mickey and caused a lot of mischief. So, the theory pretty much states that this'll happen in KHIII, only probably more than just a few pranks...

the ps2 needs a larger resolution to a larger screen, the resolution on the 3ds screen compared to size works just fine.  technically, melting down wouldn't occur, but considering what nintendo apparently did with Wind Waker on the GC, your car might run a little slower to take care of any load times at the most, but it could probably take it.  i wouldn't suggest automatically assuming that people know nothing next time.

grrrr..... your still wrong lol, more pixes means harder for it to load and it requires more processing power, if you tried to run a ps2 game with the same polygons and resolution on a 3ds you wouldn't be able to.....

if you want to see for yourself just find a computer game you play and change the resolution from its highest to lowest to see different performance you get, on low you will get high fps and on high you will get low fps :)

and that's why there is a lower resolution.  yes, it requires more power to run a higher resolution.  however, native resolution also depends on screen size, which is incomparable between 3ds and ps2.  however, there are ways to deal with processing power that it appears you don't know about.  i'd suggest you try to figure out the entire topic with every possibility before you determine that anyone is wrong.

lol it took me way less than that for each side. 3D is short if we count all 3 stories in BBS.

I do feel like there should have been another secret/optional boss in 3D, or at least something that leaves us guessing like MF. Julius wasn't exactly a "wowing" boss imo.

Alright fine. I still feel cheated.

At least in BBS, you go to the worlds multiple times, and the playing styles between characters and mostly different, while Sora and Riku are almost the same, except they can use different types of commands and link styles, and thats it.
