Not necessarily. In Japan MLP:FIM is called an anime, because  in Japan all cartoons are Anime. So I see no problem with calling things that look like anime by that name no matter where thy come from. I just call it an "American Anime"

Also. I explained why it is coming out the 18th; they work on multiple episodes. Hell, Episode 2 isn't even finished! It has more editing to do!

 

Plus, weekly. THe two weeks is so they can polish up as many episodes as humanely possible so they are not working on a deadline. So calm yourselves. There's a reason, and it's a reason you should STOP GETTING PISSED AT ROOSTERTEETH FOR.

Anime is just the shortening of the word 'animation'.  So, yeah, it is an animation

Personally, I think if it has the anime style of animation it can be called an anime.  I don't think it's so important that it comes from Japan.  Anime is so globalized anymore that it's art style has become its own genre.

 

I will wait until the 18th then.  I still wonder if I'll like the show at all so I'm not really waiting with abated breathe.
