SEGA of Japan has just purchased a new domain. What does that mean? Nothing in itself, but when taking a look at the URL...
http://www.soniclostworld.com
It leads to a blank page, of course... for now.
We discovered this through some paperwork that is under the name of SEGA of Japan that has been floating around, which I guess is some sort of sheet they had to fill out in order to buy the domain.. The paper work says nothing about the game, except the paperwork also mentions, in detail, how game programmers, game software, and disks along with cartridges and digital device usage are all included as part of this trademark.
Here is the "Paper work"

What do you think? Is this paper work real, or fake? Is the next sonic title JUST around the corner?

Gameplay looks cool, but I can't tell if it's just more "run straight in a giant tube" gameplay or not

Luv the graphics, luv the 2d parts. 3d parts are okay and the new features are awesome.

It looks... Okay. In my opinion, anyways.

One of the badniks looks like the scrapped snail from Sonic 2.

Woooooooooooooooow

This is so awesome.I'm officially hyped for it.

Also,I get a Sonic X-Treme( a canceled game on the Saturn) vibe out of it.....maybe they finally put the concept into a good use

Is that... a Wisp?

Yes! The 3DS version is what I was going to get and I'm glad it looks just as amazing as the trailer.

Hard to tell but that doesn't look like a wisp to me. It seems to short and the main wisp capsules only had red on the bottom if I remember right. Could be a new design for one though.

If it really is a wisp in that screenshot you can color me surprised.

Here's some new information about me and Sonic's next game:

Online gaming publication IGN has received the chance to take a look at three levels of Wii U and Nintendo 3DS exclusive, Sonic Lost World. The developers over at Sonic Team say that they have created an all-new design for 3D Sonic games with Sonic: Lost World and that they hope to use this design for future titles. Here’s a roundup of what wasshown to the team over at IGN.

  • Levels include ‘Wind Hill’ & ‘Desert Ruins’
  • Desert Ruins consists of a Cake, Candy and sweet themed environment.
  • Sonic builds up speed slowly, the player decides when he wants to go faster and then with another button decides when he wants to unleash the next level of speed.
  • Parkor system, designed to allow players to navigate objects at speed without coming to a dead stop.
  • Wisp’s are back, as are the wisp powers.
  • 2 player “support” mode confirmed.
  • Sonic is the only playable character.
  • Tails, Knuckles & Amy appear in the story, they are not playable.
  • The planet is called ‘Lost Hex.’
  • Rescuing animals will influence various unlockable content.
  • Red Rings are back.
  • Gold cannons are used to unlock secret/alternative paths.

Hey guys, 3DS version news revealed here, along with some screenies that haven't been on this topic yet:
http://gengame.net/2013/05/sonic-lost-world-will-feature-fully-3d-levels-on-3ds-brings-back-colors-style-powers/

and Story details revealed (note, this is from a news facebook page, so It may be false, as no source is given):

-Story-

Sonic was giving chase after the evil Dr. 'Eggman' Robotnik when he
suddenly comes to discover a new planet called 'Lost Hex' and discovers a
gang of monsters calling themselves the 'Deadly Six' and attacking
animals.

The story is going to be 'Remarkably Simple' and the new 'Deadly Six' gang will bring 'Danger and Humor' to the game.

-Gameplay-

The game will feature 'Both' 2D and 3D sections, and this time, to
control Sonic's speed, pressing the 'Control Stick' in any direction
will make him 'Walk' and to make Sonic 'Run' you must hold 'One' of the
'Trigger Buttons' at the top of your gamepad. To sprint at Sonic's full
speed, you must hold 'Both' trigger buttons at the top of your gamepad,
which will cause Sonic to 'Spindash' and uncurl into his classic 'Figure
8 Sprint' and launch ahead.

Boost will 'Not' be in this game, however the 'Spindash' and Sonic's classic 'Figure 8 sprint' will 'Simulate' it instead.

The handheld version will also feature 'Both' 2D and 3D sections.

'Colored Powers' will be returning and it is said the 'Whisps' will return in this game as well to provide these powers.

-Characters So Far-

Sonic The Hedgehog - 'Only' playable character in the game.

Miles 'Tails' prower - Makes appearances.

Knuckles The Echidna - Makes appearances.

Amy Rose - Makes appearances.

-Worlds So Far-

The first world will be 'Wind Hill' featured in the trailer, and the
second, or future world, will be called 'Desert Ruins' containing sweets
like cakes, cookies, donuts, and a variety of candy in it's first
stage, with it's second dropping the food and sweets theme entirely.

-Enemies, Unlockables, Secrets-

The enemies in this game asides the 'Deadly Six Gang' will consist of
"Badnik' style robots containing 'Animals' needing to be saved.

Every 'Animal' you save in a stage will be 'Added' to the 'Total' you
have saved in the game, playing a factor in unlocking content.

'Red Rings' will return also in each stage allowing you to unlock content by collecting them.

'Gold Canons' will be waiting for you to find which will launch you to secret passages.

-Takashi Iizuka (Sonic Team Head) Comments-

He stated controls were of the utmost importance in this game, being
taken as seriously and detailed as the rest of the game itself for best
playability.

He stated he wished to create an all new gameplay
and stage design for 3D titles in the Sonic series. This could mean we
will see this type of Sonic game again, or he plans to create new
gameplay styles for each game or every now and then in the future.

Sucks there's only one playable character but it does give them more time to refine the game. Having both 2D and 3D is also a pretty neat feature.

This is similar to the above info but with a few new bits such as the multiplayer mode

Nintendo and SEGA has announced today the ‘Rise of the Deadly Six’ after a silhouette image was teased to fans last week for Sonic Lost World. We saw a few clips of the Deadly Six in the latest Sonic trailer, but this time we’ve got new details of what to expect from these menacing creatures.

Known collectively as the Deadly Six, Dr. Eggman has recruited each of the fell creatures to make Sonic’s life miserable, but when the Deadly Six turn against their master, Sonic must join forces with his arch-nemesis to prevent the fall of the world. With his new moves to jump from platform to platform without losing speed, as well as his improved Colour powers, Sonic must defeat the Deadly Six through ever-changing landscapes.

In addition to single player mode, both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions will feature multiplayer modes and utilise the unique aspects of each of the consoles capabilities. Colour Powers on the Wii U are controlled through the console’s GamePad by tilting, touching and aiming in different directions, plus Sonic Lost World can be played entirely through the GamePad screen with two player support mode. But if you’re looking to purchase the 3DS version then you can look forward to fully realised 3D levels, exclusive special stages and unique colour powers. What are your reactions to the Deadly Six? Let us know in the comments below.
