Whenever I hear people refer to Donald and Goofy in Kingdom Hearts, at one point there's always Someone who jokes about how weak they are... Why is that? I don't remember their AI's being all THAT bad. What do you guys think of the duo???

Donald wouldn't heal you when you needed it, and Goofy didn't really do much from what I remember...

In my opinion they were pretty usefull in KH1, but in KH2 they were pretty useless!!! Their attacks do like 0 damage to the enemy and Dolan NEVER actually heals you(with some exceptions of course)!!!!!

They're meat shields, you hide behind them while you set up.

They where more useful in KH1 IIRC. Donald will heal you, and Goofy was good for distracting enemies and keeping them from gang-banging you.

 

In KH2 however, they BARELY do damage. They are just kinda there for more supportive roles, limit breaks, drive forms, etc. They don't really get too involved in the battle.

In Re:COM, Donald had a bad habit of using Thunder on Larxene and Fire on Axel. Goofy was okay.

In KH2 they were both pretty meh.

I think they're great has long has you customize them the way you want too.

I thought they were useful, I set their item usage at the start so they only used them in need and didn't waste them, I've also be saved a few times by Donald's timely healing.

This is what I always thought! I just don't understand why some people act as the two were invaluable. I can't speak for KH1(as its the only KH game I haven't played, but they were awesome in KH2, and meh in re:coded. But they made things a lot easier IMO. Rechain I rarely even used em.

Lol, I agree, sometimes donald doesn't heal you in time and goofy is actually the most useful. But when they seem useless, I use them as shields and heal myself X)

Believe me, if you play KH1 where they were really useful and  then play KH2 you will realise that they are there only to assist you with drive forms!!!

I think people didn't customize their attack strategy right and that's what made them look bad.

Nah, they were just firetrucked up in KH2, but really useful in KH1!!!

Its just something people experienced and made a joke out of it.

I didn't even give them potions or ethers or whatever at all because they would never use them on Sora!
