i completely agree with you

I was hoping they remade some fights in HD, so we know what went on. After school, i'll probably watch snips of kingdom hearts 365/2 so I could see what it looks like..

For people who have played the actual game, yes, it feels like there are things missing. But for people who haven't, it will be fine.

I'm not so sure, the ending doesn't make any sense anymore. The scene before and after the fight against Xion is shown, but there is absolutely no transition, just a fade to black.

That sucks. Days was the first Kingdom Hearts game I bought and played all the way through.

To me, the HD collection didn't have what made 358/2 days so enjoyable for me.  Probably the only advantage to the cutscenes is to allow people to watch them in HD without slogging through the gameplay if they hate it.  But, even then, while the graphics are pretty, most of the cutscenes are 1) centered on nothing but the clock tower or the Castle That Never Was (even the original had a few cutscenes in the Disney worlds), so it didn't take complete advantage of the spiffy new look, 2) the voice acting to me was below mediocre, and this is coming from someone who gives plenty of leeway to such matters; Xion sounded odd, Roxas sounded way too soft, and Axel sounded like Quinton Flynn just doesn't care about this role anymore, and 3) the near complete omission of Disney worlds where, as you mentioned, had some of Roxas's development take place the clock tower scenes don't show.

The HD cutscenes seem more like a summary than an actual story.  It's understandable, since they had to cram a 30+ hour game into two hours of high-def cutscenes, but there are lots of subtleties and stronger writing with the script the HD cutscenes don't have.  Seriously, they had to change a lot of the lines I guess for lip syncing or length restraints, but the dialogue seemed more sharper to me in the original.

I can honestly write a more detailed explanation about the difference between the original and the HD cutscenes, which I was going to after the official English release anyway, but I'll do it later.

Good, since that's exactly what it's meant to be. It's not really meant to replace the actual game, it's meant to give casual fans the important parts of the story.

I agree completely, I would have been fine waiting for an actual playable game than just watching cutscenes that fade to black everytime there's a battle. I feel that's really not fair to newcomers to the series, but hopefully they will be able to make up for it in 2.5.
