Shana09 5,769 Posted September 18, 2013 I'm having trouble fighting him, he just hurts me so hard. Just incase anyone doesn't know which battle, its the one right after you beat Darkside and you have to fight him again with the guardian except by yourself. I picked Rod and gave up the sword. I'm also level 52. Can someone tell me how to survive well enough?
StarCharm 54 Posted September 18, 2013 It's a matter of learning the patterns. You gotta recognize each attack he does to be ready to avoid it, also aero and dodge roll are your best friends. When attacking him don't do combos for too long or he'll get you back. When he goes to the middle and his shadow pops up from the floor just dodge roll until it's over. Just find openings for attacking him, at level 52 you should be fine. But just to be sure, put on good abilities, items, armor and keyblade. Good luck! Moochieh32 676 Posted September 18, 2013 Well... there's a few tips that could lead you to success 1) When he says "Take this" guard immediately. Then attack him non stop until he does something else. Usually when he back away, there's a 60% chance he's going to use that damn Dash attack 2) When he's using his ultimate attack, dodge roll repeatedly. When he's done with it, run up to him and attack non stop 3) If he gets you with that SUBMIT attack, just dodge roll, and if the Guardian hits you, just cure. Hopefully you got Leaf Bracer 4) Er.. thats pretty much it. Casting Aero alot will help you too so stock up on lots of MP items. Also air combo abilities. Good luck 2 Shana09 and The Transcendent Key reacted to this

Hei 3,233 Posted September 19, 2013 I'm thinking I should get Aeroga now. Whats the benefit from Aeroga? I think it's able to deflect certain attacks in addition to halving damage and dealing damage when touching the enemy.

Fierce Deity Link 926 Posted September 19, 2013 Eesh, he was one of the easiest bosses for me on Standard in the original, but hearing about how much trouble you're having on Proud frightens me ._. Anyway, what Keyblade are you using?

Fierce Deity Link 926 Posted September 19, 2013 Ah. Well, I used Oblivion and I had almost no problem, but I chose the Sword, so that might be why. I don't think I can help you, sorry. ;^;

Sora96 17,256 Posted September 19, 2013 Aeroga is very useful. It will defect some attacks. If memory serves me it stops his dash attack. 1 Shana09 reacted to this
Reyn 1,755 Posted September 19, 2013 Olympus, I have Oathkeeper and Oblivion but the MP loss in Oblivion and Oathkeeper strength wasn't that good. Ok first off, here is the best thing to do. Head to the library in Hollow Bastion, talk to Belle and get Divine Rose. It has as high if not higher critical hit ratio as Oblivion and has higher attack boost, plus no MP drawback. Also get Curaga from Aerith if you havent already. Make sure to get Aerora at least from Neverland with the yellow trinity, that deals damage to Ansem and protects you, it works SO MUCH BETTER if you bother to get all 99 dalamtions to get Aeroga though. Keep Aero on as often as possible when fighitng Ansem and stock up on Ethers for when you run low on MP. Im fighting him at level 56 with these advantages and im doing just fine. Im also on proud. 1 Shana09 reacted to this

Aerora doesn't do damage to the enemy. It just lowers damage dealt to the person with it on. Only Aeroga damages the enemy.
Reyn 1,755 Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) Aerora doesn't do damage to the enemy. It just lowers damage dealt to the person with it on. Only Aeroga damages the enemy. Actually, that's not true. In Final MIx, i have Aerora, and ive used it on Sora and i see that it does damage to the enemy and forces them away from Sora. I've tried it on normal Heartless in "End of the World" and on Ansem, and i can tell you 100% sure that it definitely does damage to do, albeit not that much. I havent gotten all the dalamtions yet(as you can tell from my trophy list) so i only have Aerora from doing the yellow trinity in Neverland. In FM, they must've made it so Aerora deals damage to the enemy. If you don't believe me, try it out for yourself in 1.5.
