that the dialogue in the days movie thing is a bit different? i was watching it and there where lines that i was really hoping to hear that were from the dialogue said between the sprites in the game that were either replaced or just plain cut out.

 

im not very far into the movie thing but the ones that i can think of the most are:

 

when roxas gives xion the ice cream for the first time, and calls it the icing on the cake.

 

in the game xion says, 'a little something extra' - she doesnt say that in the cutscenes.

 

when roxas confronts saix  about axel maybe being dead, rather than saix saying 'he may be among the lost', he says, 'Gone, not coming back." something like that. 

 

WHHHAAAAAT!!

 

that sets a completly different tone!! i dont like it one bit movie!! rather than leaving it open like in the game ( due to the fact that they dont really know or are telling roxas this in the game, and are still investigating it,) they jump straight to yep theyre all dead! which comes later in the game! what the heck ma?!

 

Then, this one. i dont remember the dialogue from the game exactly but its when roxas collapses and wont wake up, and saix and xemnas are standing over him in his room.

 

when saix leaves, in the game, xemnas says something along the lines of,

 

' it appears that sleep has taken you once again" or something.

 

i loved that! cause it set up and proves that indeed yes, xemnas does know more about his past and stuff than hes letting on. its a direct referance to bbs and it was a great line! why did they drop it?!?

 

my god, say what you want abbout the sprite dialogue being anoying to read and not as cool as cutscenes, but the dialogue was still great!! Why now that theyre cutscenes is the dialogue being shortened and changed when it really was great before!! 

 

it kinda makes me wanna stop watching the cutscenes and go back and play the game again. didnt think id miss the dialogue so much but these are some of my favorite lines! is anyone else annoyed by this? or is it just crazy me!!

 

and if this is old news and in a thread somewhere else... my bad.

It's apparently due to laziness on SEoA's part. From what I've read elsewhere, the speech is still synched to the Japanese voices, therefore some of the lines needed to be cut to fit them in the allotted time of the scene.

"Why do you always have to stare at me like I just drowned your goldfish?" That line didn't even show Xigbar and he could have said that. I tried it out myself (at a good pace) in my head and it worked. Also, "So then, we just sweep it up, huh? As if." Too rushed.

 

Well, what can you do? If only they just altered the lip sync a bit... (They had all that extra time too.)

Makes u appreciate the game just a tiny bit more...

 

which begs the question, if this was originally not of the ds and was made into the full blown, ps2 what ever game, u think this is what it woulda turned out to be cutscene wise?

 

in that case ill take the ds game and its great dialogue.

Exactly. It looks like they didn't even bother doing anything in detail for this collection. The german Version of KHFM doesn't even have the original german Voice Over... The Statement of 'SquareEnixGermany' was, that the german Dub couldn't be re-used, because of the fact that there are new cutscenes. Also the collection has "3 complete Games in it" and it would burst the memory capacity ...First of all, the new Cutscenes don't even have voice over in the japanese Version, if I remember correctly.And second, there are only 2 complete games on this... I don't know if it would have been really too much for the memory capacity, but I doubt it, because they said "3 complete games" ... They didn't even inform themselves about their own product.Sorry for comlaining, it just really bugs me ... destroys the whole nostalgic feeling for me. The only thing I have to be happy is that Re:CoM is finally in Europe.

I agree, the Xemnas line was rather important. Clearly shows he knows more than he's letting on to the other members. Like his meetings with Aqua's armor in KHIIFM.

ok, i officially cant stand xions new voice. it lacks any kinda emotion its redicilous. like i was watching the scene where theyre telling what they did on their day off, and the line i always read in the game as being a bit more sarcastic and playful, 'did you guys go somewhere with out me?" is read by her voice actor to be completely void of emotion. at first i liked the tone of the voice more than who voiced her in days, but no emotion makes the character totally unbelievable! it sounds like a person trying to read a script every line! give the character some emotion!!! jesus!

 

although i am finding my self to like some of the extra dialogue between some of the characters. like with saix and axel, it develops their relationship quite well where it was not in the game.

I think the days movie was boring... they should of just made it into a standard film
