September 20, 201312 yr Author I think so too, but how do you know for sure? Well, I actually got this from Information on Vanitas from this website. In a Birth By Sleep Novel, it says that before Ventus' heart connected with Sora's, (Beginning of the Game) Vanitas didn't have a face, just "RED EYES." Vanitas then got a face when Ventus' heart connected with Sora's. This is why Vanitas looks like Sora.

Also yellow eyes have not really a real connection to heartless or darkness, but to Xehanort. Maybe Xehanort had put part of his heart in Vanitas. That's a possibility.
