Let's be honest...the main reason bronies are so reviled (and therefore easy troll bait) is because you all keep taking it too far and basically attention whore about it ALL THE BLOODY TIME. For all I know there are probably adult Dora the Explorer fans (or some similar product/show/whatever), but nobody targets them any more often than usual because they don't scream about it obnoxiously.

This is only 75% of it. I have tons of brony friends who despise that percentage that ruins their appearance.

I myself am not a brony, and none of my friends are bronies. However, I can see why people like the show, and I don't really hate anyone that are bronies...

I have friends in my high school that are Bronies, and they're alright.

It's easy to say kids now play stupid games like CoD and stuff, but many kids (like me) play KH or other games that would be easy recognized by more grown up people (like most people of this page)

If I had a quarter for every time I heard that, I would have bought this site by now. The Brony community is just as loud and obnoxious as every other fan community, people only pay extra attention to them because the idea of anyone other than a little girl liking My Little Pony is still weird or strange to them. To say that Bronies are attention whores is like saying that ALL Sonic fans are crazy, it's a fallacy.

 

Bronies aren't going around shouting "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYY WORLD!!!! I LOVE MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC AND I'M PROUD OF IT!!!!!! I LOVE TO MAKE PONY VERSIONS OF OTHER SHOWS CHARACTERS WHETHER YOU LIKE THEM OR NOT!!!! LOVE AND TOLERATE!!!! I DON'T CARE ABOUT NO HATERS!!!! COME ON TROLLS, DO YOUR WORST!!!!! RAINBOW DASH IS BEST PONY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

 

A more accurate example would be "Hey, so I like My Little Pony Friendship is magic, and I love the fact that I do. Please don't hate me, let's be friends instead."

 

I don't know where this whole "Those goddamn Bronies are so loud and annoying, I wish they would just leave me alone" thing came from, but it's a rather dismissive and intolerable excuse to write off an entire fanbase. It's the kind of statement that comes from fans of other series who for some reason can't stand the idea of other fans of other series making any fan labor of the thing that the fan in question is a fan of, whether those other fans are a fan of his series or not. An example would be if a God of War fan felt threatened that a Brony who also happened to be a God of War fan made a piece of fan art about a pony version of Kratos (not a fan myself, so is that how you spell his name?), even though no real harm was done. These sort of ideas are just dogmas created by territorial fans who don't like the idea of sharing a franchise with other fans from different franchises, least of all from something as "girly" as MLP.

 

While the video itself is meant to be satirical and I enjoyed a fair bit, I still find ideas like yours to be rather dismissive and presumptuous. We're loud and proud, sure, but no more so than any other fanbase. The idea that we boast some kind of egotistical sense of superiority is just ridiculous. If it seems impossible to escape any news of anything Brony, that is because it is the latest "fad" as it where, so in time some new thing will come out that EVERYONE will obsess over and become just as "annoying" and "loud" as everybody considers us now. The Bronies won't go away, but less people will be staring at them to see what they will do next, because those new insert-new-anime-name-here kids down the block look and sound soooooooo crazy.

Most of my cousins are younger than me and are into My Little Pony as well, so it's nice to have something to relate to them with. Now if I could only get them into Sonic the Hedgehog and Kingdom Hearts....
