Can Sora and Riku be regarded as being rivals anymore? I believe that the two of them could be given the term in KHI, but since then, I do not think that the term remains to be applicable. I believe that a good example that shows this is when Riku was deemed a Keyblade Master, with Sora not being even slightly jealous after this had happened.

Nope, they aren't rivals anymore.

They are probably still both. Best frenemies for life. Their rivalry isn't as strong because of all the stuff they've been through but it's still there.

Nah,the rivalry ended pretty much the moment Riku got possessed by Ansem Seeker of Darkness

 

the rivalry thing started as friendly-rivalry first but thanks to Maleficent Riku was blinded by Jealousy thinking that Sora replaced him with Donald and Goofy.

I see it this way. Sort of like a friendly rivalry. 

No, they weren't really rivals at all for most of it, just competitive friends and they were exploited to actually become rivals for a time period, but there's no hint of that anymore (though I'm surprised we haven't seen some brain washing scenes or whatever with MX or a nort trying to turn them against each other again e.g. to Sora "He fell to darkness yet he's the master and you're not, does that seem fair?  It was always meant to be his keyblade afterall, you really were just a substitute"

They aren't really now because Sora kinda ruins it with his friendliness.

After KH3 they'll probably go back to competing with each other and being rivals

I think at this point they really just still want to be like each other but not to the point where it would get negative. They have put too much on the line to save each other in the recent past to let petty jealousies tear them apart again and have almost lost each other so they have learned from all that.

Nah Rivalry is over now it's just a duo that works off each others strengths and weaknesses
