Would kingdom hearts be a good live action movie?

Posted

My friend and I were talking about this (in the midst of me studying for a test trmw...>_<) and she thinks it would and I say absolutely not. Why? For one, I think the plot to KH is too complicated to transfer into movie form. While I find they can cut out a lot from the games but if they do too much, it might also take away from the spirit of them. Also, as much as I love the series,I find that one of the biggest flaws with them is sometimes I just have no idea what's going on.Like, I've had a few moments where I've had to rewatch a sequence b/c I had NO idea what the game was trying to tell me. I don't know if this is just me but from what I've heard from a few other people, this isn't something too unusual. If they were to make a live-action movie, they would probably have to dumb down the ideas and let's face it, live-action mickey mouse? Omg, I see him being some weirdly realistic cgi...thing xD. I find this idea weird.

PS-If this thread was all ready made...I'm sorry, I didn't see it.

This sums up my opinion right there.

A movie would be too short to capture the essence of KH. Even if it did, there would be many cuts, unless they made it a 9 hour movie.

Ok, exaggeration, but you know what I mean.

I dare say an anime/series could do better.

Personally, I do not think that it is a good idea. The result would probably be some sort of awkward mess, which would be as looked down upon as the Avatar (The Last Airbender) film. However, if the story originally came in the form of a series of books instead of a video game series, perhaps I would disapprove of the idea slightly less.

No, i have to say no, i just dont think video games should be made into movies its never a good idea, they will never be able to live up to the expectations of the fans especially a series with a following like KH, kinda like DBZ Evolution and The Last Airbender fan base wise and those movies are Satin's favorites

I would prefer it as an anime if they didn't ruin it

No, for one simple reason. The hair. Hollywood Magic can only go so far. While some characters, like Riku, could be portrayed accurately, characters like Sora would have to be severely dumbed down in terms of design. Even the best cosplay wigs are still a far cry for how the hair looks in-game.Now a CGI movie on the other hand, maybe but I think an anime would be the best video format for KH

*Ponders at the thought of a live action KH1 Kairi*

Using Avatar The Last Airbender as an example... well...

I would say the same about Ratchet & Clank but that movie is actually happening.... :/

I'm gonna answer this question like this:

Look at the Super Mario Bros live action movie, the Tomb Raider movies, the Hitman movie, the Prince of Persia movie...and tell me if any of these movies were a good live action adaptation of their source material......NONE OF THEM

Not to mention that,99% of Disney's characters and worlds are from Disney's animated movies not live action movies

Unless you want Donald to look like the ducks from that Horrible Howard the Duck movie.......a KH live action movie will be way more insulting than how Dragon Ball Evolution was shitting on DBZ's legacy

Would a cardboard box make a nice moonlit dinner?

The firetruck does that even mean Tery?

Unless you want Donald to look like the ducks from that Horrible Howard the Duck movie

I would not want him to look like that, but when it comes to animatronics, Howard the Duck's appearance was probably as good as was possible at the time.

what happened to the filter? Lol

Now, a CGI movie that basically recreates the games would be interesting...but I still wouldn't like it.

If there should be any kind of Kingdom Hearts movie, it should be CG and focus on the Keyblade War. Get that history out of the way so we can stop speculating and focus on the future.

I DIDNT DO IT THIS TIME!!!!!

May I suggest an Anime or OVA?

His appearance was the creepiest duck cosplay I've ever seen in my life

Heck, there is a female duck in the movie that has human nipples......uhhh

While I agree with you here,I just don't wanna see a live action version of Donald after that nightmare of a movie Howard the duck

a CGI movie I'm okay with that, but live action?Heeeell no

Fool. No.

Answer the question Mister X.

Back onto the topic train....I agree that I think the best medium for KH to be in besides games would be an anime. In fact, it has a manga. T_T Why is there no anime? This is still shocking too me. Will Disney not let them use their characters or something? xD

Btw, I showed this topic to my friend who does think KH would be a great action movie...and apparently she said this, "Dragon ball evolution and the last airbender movies were OKAY and I find people overrate how bad they are. They were kinda enjoyable and it was cool seeing my favorite characters being portrayed by real people. Although I will admit that while I personally find these movies somewhat enjoyable, I see why people hate them so much. Yet, these supposedly "horrible" movies didn't really affect the franchises or fanbases. Therefore, I see no reason why a live KH movie would be any different. It would just be other opportunity too see a story and characters I like on the big screen."  (Just a reminder--These are not my thoughts. Go to the first post if you want too see mine).

Only if Riku isn't played by an actual teenager DX

j/k, a kh live action could still be uhhh interesting for non-RIKU! reasons....
