Why do/don't you SPECIFICALLY like Harry Potter?

Posted

Hi

As part of a research project i am doing, if you all could tell me SPECIFICALLY why you like/don't like Hp (NOTHING to do with KH) specifically the movies, but it could b in general, or also say why some people do not like it. If you say it sucks, PLEASE say why! I HATE it when people just say that or say they HATE it with out a reason.

I love Harry Potter series without a reason, but i hate that Harry Potter would be on KH,since that would be not Disney's style if you want a reason...

I really enjoy the Harry Potter movies :)

It's hard to put a finger on what makes Harry Potter so fantastic... whether it's the beautifully crafted story, or the relatable and fun characters, or how much weight it carries emotionally...

This is going to sound terribly corny, but there's something magical about it.

The Harry Potter series is awesome, film and book.

Not to be an ass, but some of you are really missing the point. They asked for a specific reason which means "i love da movies"/ "it awesome" does not qualify as an answer.Anyways for me harry potter was the first time i became interested in reading novels(though i've read a novel in the 4th grade). The writing style was quite entertaining and they made it easy for me to imagine the scenarios perfectly, everything was described well, the entire idea that there are wizards among us and they go to such an amazing place that's a hell of a lot different from the uneventful, shitty muggle life we are cursed with.I also admire the way the novels were slowly built up in terms of maturity.( I noticed the series getting more and more dark as the story proceeded)And of course, the storyline, the concepts of the wizarding world and the character building is amazing.Lastly, i don't like Harry Potter.I LOVE IT

Well its a series I grew up watching as a young child. Movies like that always hold a special place in my heart.

I don't like or hate Harry Potter.  I watched the first ones (I think I got up to the Prisoner one) then I just didn't care enough to see it's sequels when they came out, and now I missed so much I would have to start at the first and it'd basically would be a marathon which I mentally don't feel able for

Fool. It sucks.

fool. You need to be specific. I said so, and you are rude for being blunt

I really enjoy the Harry Potter movies :)

WHY though, BE specific please!

i LIKE THE MOVIES BECAUSE I LOVE THE BOOKS AND I LOVE THE BOOKS BECAUSE AS FAR A LITERATURE AND LITERARY TECHNIQUES GO, IT'S A FREAKING MASTERPIECE.  IT'S THE KIND OF BOOK THAT REALS YOU IN AND KEEPS YOU INTERESTED TILL THE LAST PAGE.

Neither, because I was never interested in it enough to ever watch/read it.

There's no "rude" here. It's the internet.

Hmm. Well what I really enjoy about the Harry Potter series is its ability to pull you into the world of Hogwarts. Though the series is about magic and mythical events it is still relatable somehow; it's about 3 kids who go to school over a period of 7 years. There's the modest student, the know-it-all, the goof, the bullies, the nice teachers, the bad teachers, the adventures, etc. that we all experience in our lives except this is taken to the next level being set in a magical realm. Sure there are stories written and filmed about such things but this particular series explores quirks in the magic world we never gave much thought about. For example, the people in the paintings are moving and conversing with other art pieces, students, and teachers. Heck, the idea of flying brooms evolved into a sport called Quidditch.

Even though I'm not an uber fan of the series after the 4th movie/book (it became very dark), both the books and movies are very enjoyable, which is hard to maintain balance of.

It feels like you are a part of Harry's world when you crack open that book or watch the first few minutes of the movie. That's how it is for me anyway.

so we're automatically supposed to be rude on the internet? Because we have the power? Gotcha……

You also said that "i'm not one to be rude": http://kh13.com/forum/topic/62553-harry-potter-in-kingdom-hearts/

I love Harry Potter. It was the first chapter book I've ever read, and I still re-read them :)
