Final Fantasy sure is a hell of a franchise! It's older than me! All games are amazing, I gotta admit. The characters, graphics and stories! Even the spin-offs and movies are great!

I always thought that all Final Fantasy games were connected like Kingdom Hearts, but they aren't that connected. Each game tells a different story with different character on different worlds and years.

I got to know mroe about the Final Fantasy Universe and Characters by playing Disiddia Final Fantasy and Duodecim. That game proved that Square Enix can make great fighting games!

I once bought FF12, the cutscenes and stuff looked great! I was tsarting to enjoy it... but when I started to play it.... OMG I never got so bored in my life! The gameplay mechanics of the FFs Games are, for me, terrible! I want a game like KH's style or any other game, where you click X, Square or Circle to attack... and not to wait a couple of seconds to the charatcer do everything by itself!

I always wanted to play FF7, because it's far one of the most amazing Final Fantasy games, but I can't... the blokcy comumn graphics and gameplay mechanics avoid me...

I wish to play Final Fantasy XIII, but I'm afraid that the gameplay mechanics are the same as the others...

You can waste 1 hour to kill a mere enemy... And you take that time to defeat countless of enemeis and bosses on Kingdom Hearts!

Gladly, KH15 will be more liek Kingdom Hearts (That's what I heard)...

Lightnign Returns looks more like normal games then the old RPG style.

Just tell me... is there any Final Fantasy game with Dissidia or Kingdom Hearts's gameplay mechanics. A game that does not make me to wait a couple of seconds to see the character attacking, one by one... I can't even explain, but you get the ideia!

(Kingdom Hearts CoM was good, but the card system was rough and boring. So many tatics that you had to make, and I know that FF games get harder and harder with progress...)

12's gameplay is entirely different from everything else in the series. The first ten games all had similar gameplay systems that were much more fun than 12's.

Also, if you won't play any of the older ones because of graphics... You're the one missing out on great games, I guess.

Old games also take TIME, which I don't... Well, I could play all of them, the problem is SMPLE: Gameplay.

Older games end to be shorter. And their gameplay is more traditional, unlike 12's.

FF is a turn based game, and for some people they like that, to plan out their strategy and all and see the effects of their plans, I personally prefer real time fighting for the same reasons as you say, I don't like just watching them do stuff.  I like having more input, being able to actually dodge instead of waiting for a turn to dodge.  I have Crisis Core, Dissidia, FFX-2, FFXII, FFXIII and FFXIII-2, but since I'm not incredibly into it I'm not in a dire rush to buy all the others games.

Regardless, if you don't like it, so what.  You don't have to play it just 'cause it's popular.

Well Final fantasy 15 will be my first FF ever and one of the main reasons is about the gameplay

You started with the wrong game son

FF12 is awful and it's battle system bored me to death despite me being a fan of the series

If you wanna start with with a bit of a fast paced FF experience.....start with Final Fantasy IV

It's good for beginners and it's one of the best games in the series and my favorite FF game

I guess you could play Dirge of Cerberus if you just don't like the turn based stuff?

If you are more into button mashing than strategy and can't stand to wait for your turns, then Final Fantasy probably just isn't for you.  Enjoy Kingdom Hearts.  Enjoy other games.  There are plenty of options for you out there.

12 has this some sort of weird offline MMORPG vibe that just blocked me from ever finishing it

I hate 12's battle system with a passion....I just can't stand it.......the irony is that Xenoblade, one of my favorite RPGS of all time, has a similar battle system to 12 but it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than 12 and more accessible and the AI was very good unlike 12's rock stupid AI that you need to spend 30 minutes of Gambit combinations in order for it to work

I know what you mean, you want to play it so bad cause it's beautiful and shiny and the stories awesome, but it's not as action packed as KH. Don't force yourself to like anything :)

Same here. I hate 12, definitely my least favorite game I've played, but I love Xenoblade Chronicles. I think that with FF12, another issue was that they had high levelled aggressive enemies in low level areas. I can't count how many times a random level 90 character came and ruined my day...

Exactly THIS

I reached a mission where you have to save Penello.....Good God the the entire dungeon was filled with high level enemies that can wreck your team in seconds which forces you to backtrack to a previous area, grind for 30 minutes or an hour....then come back and be able to do something

The grinding in 12 isn't streamlined or fun at all

When I grind in FFIV or FFIX it doesn't feel like that much of a chore to do

If I can praise 12 for one thing......is that you don't waste your life drawing and junctioning magic like FF8......I hate 8 more than 12 if only for the boring ass junction system alongside the whoreshit story

All of this hate on FFXII -_-

Final Fantasy is a completely different type of series from Kingdom Hearts. If you're into Action RPGs, it can be hard to make the switch to a turn-based system and less involvement in the gameplay. It was flipped for me when I played KH for the first time - I wasn't accustomed to the gameplay, and I was used to turn-based movement. Final Fantasy games might feel "boring" if you're used to more active games. It just takes getting used to.

Short answer to your question: No.

Long answer: the only real-time combat FF games are (from what I hear) Dirge of Cerberus, the latest entry in the FFVII story, though I think it's a TPS, FFXV. And LR:FFXIII

If you can't stand turn-based combat. FF is not for you. I would've suggesten starting with FFX, great story, amazing graphics for it's time, but still turn based. If you can look past the turn based battle system and want to give FF another try, I'd say get FFX HD in when it comes out in March.Warning: Although I enjoyed it FFX-2s story isn't as deep or touching. It has more of a light, bubblegum pop/Charlies Angels feel to it. The battle system is still turn based and Summons have been replaced with a new battle mechanic which I won't go into 'cause spoilers. Both the PS3 and Vita versions include both games, to the Vita's is in a twin pack as one card can't hold both games But If you don't like the lighter stories and lots of singing, don't play X-2

8's just barely above 12 for me. The only thing I can see that's remotely good about either one is that Gilgamesh is in them, but even that won't save em.

What, we can't dislike a game?

That's not what I'm implying. I don't disrespect other's opinions.

Well crisis core and lightning returns have a similar gameplay like kh.I wouldnt start with 12 cause its very different due to its gameplay.

P.S I frickin love ff12 to death .

I understand what you're talking about. I've played FFVII, and the gameplay completely aggravated me. But when I played FFXI, I loved it. The gameplay felt much easier to use, and all of the characters being based on certain classes made it easier to judge their strengths and weaknesses. You see, each of the numbered FF games, as far as I can tell, plays differently, and thus you may prefer some more than others. Of course, if you still don't want to play any of those games, I recommend you try Chrisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP. It's a prequel to Final Fantasy VII, and involves combat relatively similar to the Kingdom Hearts games. However, I recommend you do your research on the game first before you purchase it.  Also, I don't believe you can purchase the game over the PSN, so you'd have to order it from somewhere such as Ebay or Amazon.

I didn't like XII's gameplay but it did get perfect scores.

And I loved XIII's story and graphics.

If you can't stand turn-based-combat then I feel sorry for you. You're really missing out.

Last I checked, 7.7/10 and 92/100 aren't perfect scores.

Eurogamer gave it 10/10, Famitsu gave it 40/40 and Official PlayStation Magazine (UK) gave it 10/10 as well. Won plenty of awards too.

That's three perfect scores. The overall look shows that the average score is much less.

Well opinions vary. I never said I thought it was perfect, that just some of the major reviewers did call it perfect including the biggest one in Japan.

I know, I was just pointing out that not all of its scores were perfect, since I thought that's what you meant.

You will like FFXV, just make sure you can afford a PS4. Also from what you describe you wont like any of the other titles. Though as you realised all entries in the series have different stories, so it is completely ok for you to start at XV.

I suggest that you play Crisis Core: FINAL FANTASY VII, the gameplay may fits to you and the story is also cool.
