Aaagghh I get so jealous from other people doing well in art which is unreasonable, I know. But ggaaahhh! I just I just! *hyper ventalating* BREATHE! BREATHE! I cant breathe! Does anybody else feel like this when it comes to their art? I feel like Im having a panic attack. Im gonna cry, im so frustrated!

What type of artist?

seeing others do better art than me is nothing more than a motivation for me to get better. there's no need to get jealous just put that energy into practicing and maybe you can surpass them one day

There's always going to be someone better than you. Just use that as motivation to get better.

Fool. You just need lots of practice. I myself am a film maker. I can see myself get better with every project.

I feel like that too! I hate when people are better than me at drawing, doing music and singing! I guess it's because I wanna be the best in what I do! What really saddens me is that I learned everything I know of art by myself and I know that if I had a professional formation I would be better! GAH! I KNOW I CAN DO BETTER! But it motivates me too that people do better than me...Anyway I can never be as good as Asians They are good at everything! I'll never catch up.

I feel that same way sometimes... But just remember you have to practice. Some people learn it faster then other's. Some people draw EVERYDAY just to learn!

So be patient and draw a little bit everyday and you'll become better.

Practice and patience. It may not be what you want to hear but it helps. Besides, finding other art you feel is better than yours could serve as a motivator. However, what I find is that the harder I try doing what someone else does, the less it becomes my art. Find what you enjoy drawing, sketching, painting, sculpting, whatever, and be a boss at it. I'm good at quick comic sketches and constantly do those.....I can't draw still life to save my butt though.

For me personally, I dislike my art each time I finished a posterboard. You know instead of getting mad at other artists you should use that anger as motivation, tell yourself you can do 10x better than those, and I promise it'll pay off in the long run. I went from crappy doodles to doing sketchbooks, moving on to huge poster board and doing grid alike art, and now doing my own personal art.

I am often really jelly. I know it sounds stupid, but I am jelly that other artist who have been working for less time than I have have better artwork than me often enough... I'm jealous of people who can draw really well, I can't draw realistic or human-like, or anything really great, I'm lucky if I get one good piece every so often... But I'm not letting that stop me. Practice practice practice is all I do sometimes, and one day I will get there, so yeah...

Well its not that Im mad at them. Im mad at ME for not being as good as them. And I think I get really jealous when people have their own unique style because they have it going so well for them I feel I cant compete. I just have to find my own style one day! Some day!

sometimes im really jealous as well. i'm an avid manga/anime style artist and the progress i've made has been tremendous. it's because i draw so much. but come to think of it...i only draw people.. 0__0 i really need to work on drawing backgrounds and perspectives.

 

don't be discouraged or angry if you see other people way better than you. there always will be (as belittling as it sounds). but take that as advice to make yourself even better. that's how i take it. 

 

and don't be discouraged if you think all the asians are good at everything. i'm asian. and i've still got a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyys to go.

 

not to mention that ALL artists have their downs. I always  sometimes stare at my giant sketchbook and draw, and erase it. draw. and erase it. over and over again. so don't think that all of those good artists out there are good all the time. some of the best artists out there may be the ones that hate their work the most.

I used to feel like that, but I don't anymore. I used to copy off of my favorite artists, and although that did produce some results over time, I still felt like my work was inferior (Which it probably was), and I got really frustrated at times. It even lead me to quit altogether after a while. 

 

Eventually though, I went my own way and developed my own style of art. This actually happens to most artists at some point in their life once they're ready for it, if they were not already doing so before. Not to say piggybacking off of professional work is bad - it's helpful. But if you feel like can move on your own, that's the better option when it becomes available.

I used to feel like that too but rather than being jealous i threw away that emotion and practices whenever i see drawing/art that is better than mine.Every time i see greater art/drawing i will practice until it become great and stuff ,Nya!
