LETTERSE7EN 54 Posted December 17, 2013 Ok, I understand the reasoning for almost every keyblade wielder introduced to the series. In KH1, Sora gets his keyblade on destiny islands which makes a lot of sense. World in trouble, great kid, strong heart, keyblade chooses him. Not a lot to figure out. Leon then gets introduced and called Sora the chosen "one". which i took as, there is only one keyblade in circulation and it chose him. Then way later on in the game, Riku takes the keyblade from sora and we find out that he was the wielder that the keyblade was originally intended for and thats why he can wield it. once again, fair enough, that makes perfect sense. but then, Mickey has a keyblade. What!? ok maybe the rule for the chosen "ONE" is that there is one for the realm of light, and one for the realm of darkness. We see mickey behind the doors of KH so maybe thats what thats about. but then, Roxas has one. What!? ok, hes the other side of sora, that kind of makes sense. we'll let this one slide too. but then, Kairi gets one from riku and is able to weild it. WHAT!?!? ok, maybe bc she is a PoH, her heart is strong enough and some sort of ancient princess council she is part of if actually dictates who holds one or not. but then, Terra, Aqua, Ventus, Eraqus, Master Xehanort, Vanitas, Xion, Lea, Pinocchio , Sebastian, Tommy Pickles, Gilbert Grape, Ben Affleck, and Homer Simpson get one its its just like WTFFF!?? what ever happend to the chosen one!? The chosen one comments were made in KH1. Obviously at this point in the series, the creators didnt know how far it was going to go. They do a decent job at explaining how the keyblades work and how it all happens but am i the only one whose starting to see sora as less and less significant? In the begining of the series. he was the ish. HE was the CHOSEN ONE..and now hes just another dude with another keyblade. he's just like the rest of the people he hangs out with, and just like everybody he's fighting against. at this point. if they introduce a character with a slingshot, that person will stand out against all 50 of our "unique" keyblade wielders. idk..jsut a thought..rant over 5 Ultima Weapon, LeYenrz, Cucco and 2 others reacted to this

Demyx. 10,064 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Even though they say chosen one. It's sort of just a myth within the characters in the story. Myths aren't exactly true. But even since the first game they have hinted at there being more keyblade weilders. Even in the secret movie in kh1 roxas has keyblades. KH2 secret movie has a ton ass of keyblades. So it's sort of always been that there are more than one keyblade weilder...Also sora is still the chosen one of that particular keyblade. RoxSox 3,593 Posted December 17, 2013 Back in my day, there could only be one Keyblade Master Back in my day, we must have been playing very different games. In the very first game, the very game that people laud as their evidence for the whole "can only be one" thing, it had both Mickey and Sora/Riku wielding keyblades. Just sayinnngggg. The only real line of dialogue or bit of evidence that explicitly said there could only be one was a line said by Riku where he said there can only be one... and he was a 15 year old kid with a complex and an ego, who thought he was the true wielder of the only Keyblade he had seen. Unless Riku is some kind of authority on the subject, which he isn't, I'd hardly use that as a evidence... It's Kingdom Hearts, not Highlander.

The Rocky Shoe 169 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Donald and Goofy are the oldest and maybe only main characters that don't have a Keyblade. I'll give D&G the title: The Originals Edited December 17, 2013 by The Rocky Shoe
Dracozombie 4,554 Posted December 17, 2013 Roughly ten keyblade wielders is still a micro fraction of a micro fraction of the total world(s) population. Even with the Keyblade Graveyard showing how many there used to be, their actions still caused an apocalypse. I say being a keyblade wielder is special. Even if Homer Simpson gets a keyblade, Sora will still be considered exceptional among them all. 2 HarLea Quinn and LeYenrz reacted to this
Kaweebo 3,617 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) I agree with you and your logic, except for the last part. Since they're basically giving Keyblades out as party favors, now, they had to up Sora's significance. So, now, because of the events in BBS, Sora can dual-wield Keyblades. Because he turned into a Heartless, he has an overwhelming dark side creeping around inside of him that he can use. Because of his magical clothes, he can use any power form he wishes. Not to mention the several, SEVERAL connections to literally every character in the series he has. Sora is NOT the same as everyone else. Plus, you missed a Keyblade. Ansem SOD had the Keyblade to People's Hearts in KH1, as well. Edited December 17, 2013 by Kaweebo 1 Roxas Awakening reacted to this

LETTERSE7EN 54 Posted December 17, 2013 i just read the script. I always thought that Leon mentioned Sora being the Chosen One but i guess those words never actually came out of his mouth. Yuffie: I think you might've overdone it, Squall.Leon: That's Leon.Yuffie: The Keyblade... Yeah, we had to get it away from you to shakeoff those creatures. It turns out that's how they were tracking you.Leon: It was the only way to conceal your heart from them. But it won'twork for long. Still hard to believe that you of all people are thechosen one.Leon picks up the Keyblade and it disappears in his hand and thenreappeared in Sora's possession.Leon: Well, I suppose beggars can't be choosers.Sora: Why don't you start making sense! What's going on here? The screen switches to the room with Aerith, Donald Duck, and Goofy.Aerith: Okay, you know there are many other worlds out there besidesyour castle and this town, right?Donald: Yeah.Goofy: But they're supposed to be a secret.Aerith: They've been secret because they've never been connected. Untilnow. When the Heartless came, everything changed. The screen switches to the room with Sora, Leon, and Yuffie.Sora: The Heartless?Yuffie: The ones who attacked you, you remember?Leon: Those without hearts. The darkness in people's hearts-that's whatattracts them. And there is darkness within every heart.Yuffie: (to Sora) Hey, have you heard of someone named Ansem? The screen switches to the room with Aerith, Donald Duck, and Goofy.Goofy: Ansem?Aerith: He was studying the Heartless. He recorded all of his findingsin a very detailed report.Goofy: Gawrsh, uh, can we see it?Aerith: Its pages are scattered everywhere.Donald: Scattered?Aerith: Too many worlds.Goofy: Oh, then maybe the king went to find 'em.Aerith: Yes, those were my thoughts exactly.Goofy: We've gotta find him quick!Donald: Wait! First, we need that "key"!Aerith: That's right. The Keyblade. The screen switches to the room with Sora, Leon, and Yuffie.Sora: So...this is the key?Yuffie: Exactly!Leon: The Heartless have great fear of the Keyblade. Caity 3,946 Posted December 17, 2013 The phrase "Keyblade master" the Princesses use to address Sora in KH1 was a translation error. Sora was chosen by the Realm of Light to wield the keyblade. He technically is a chosen one. Mickey was chosen by the Realm of Darkness to wield it's keyblade. You can think of it in terms of Star Wars. Luke is the "Chosen One" but he's not the only one who can use a Light Saber. They're both just destined to do greater things than your average one. Riku and Kairi both inherited their keyblades, from Terra and Aqua respectively. Can be assumed they inherited theirs too from their master and so on. Roxas can wield because his somebody wields (Namine and Xemnas probably can too), Xion wields a replica keyblade. I see nothing wrong with many people having a keyblade. There wouldn't have been a keyblade war in the past if only chosen ones had it. ~~~~~~~ Additionally you have to remember when KH1 was made (which has the most errors in canon now since there's loads of references to "Keyblade master", "There can only be one" etc there was no intention of a sequel. The minor details weren't ironed out and "laws" of the KH universe weren't set in stone. They make it up as they go along. 4 Mystics Apprentice, PillowHead, Handsome_the_Wise and 1 other reacted to this
LETTERSE7EN 54 Posted December 18, 2013 And ? This doesn't negate the fact there were others even in the first game itself - the game this convo takes place in . No, it doesnt. But as i said in the original post, I was mentally making excuses for the other characters along the way. When Riku got his, it made sense because he was the one who was originaly supposed to have it. So he took it from sora but then sora proved that his heart was stronger so it came back to him. The very same keyblade. As if there is only one, and only one person can wield it. Then when Mickey showed up with his, i thought alright, then there's two. One for each side of the door to kingdom hearts. The dark and the light. Makes perfect sense. Then when roxas got his, It didnt make any sense until we find out that he's Sora's nobody. So at this point I was sort of just making excuses as to why there is more than one. Until BBS came out and then it just got kind of ridiculous. Anyway, the point of me putting the script up was just saying that i was wrong. I was under the impression that Leon told Sora he was the Keyblade's Chose One. When those words never actually came out of his mouth. still. they kept refering to the keyblade as just that, THE Keyblade. Always made it seem like there was only supposed to be one. Dont get me wrong. Terra Aqua and Ventus are alright by me. but i just feel that Xion should have never existed (nor her keyblade), Lea should have just had his Chakram's and helped on the sidelines. Kairi, I mean wtf is this? No way should she have one. It's just getting out of hand at this point. the seven Keyblade Weilders should have been. Sora, Riku, Mickey, Terra, Aqua, Ventus, and a somehow revived Roxas. throwing lea in was the final straw. I liked axels character a lot. But that's just too much. They hand keyblades out to anybody with a voice actor. 1 Ultima Weapon reacted to this
