A question for all you hardcore Frozen fans

Posted

I watched this movie for the first time last night and well I just thought it was okay. It was a Disney movie so you can guarantee that it's going to animate really nicely but apart from that I didn't really see anything special about it. Apart from Let it Go and Do you wanna build a Snowman I thought all of the other songs were forgettable, the story was kinda bland (the true love thing didn't help either, it made me wince a bit) and I didn't like the main focus was in Anna when Elsa was probably the more interesting sister with the dealing with the powers and all. Anna's character didn't go much past "I'M SOCIALLY AWKWARD LOL"

But enough of that, I did like this film and probably would watch it again. But a question for all you hardcore fans of the film why do you love it so much? Is there something I'm not getting or missing? Please let me know because although I enjoyed this film I don't get 'BEST FILM OF ALL TIME' from it.

Frozen is a very solid movie, maybe even slightly better than Tangled, but...

It has become a fashion to "love" it and people go with the mass.

Sanmuri pretty much nailed it. People really just want to be part of the next "big thing", the next "big movement", when it really has nothing to be praised about. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you have a solid view of the movie: it's okay, but certainly not this generation's Lion King or any nonsense like that.

I thought it was a good movie. Would watch again/10. But I wouldn't rave on about it like it's the best thing ever. But would recommend it to people who haven't seen it and enjoy animated films.

Frozen has affected me more personally than anything I've ever watched. I too notice the problems that I was going to make a thread over, mainly the film focusing on Anna more, the areshole trolls and parents and the villain. I love Frozen because it has connected to me on a more spiritual level, and this is the first film I opened my blackened heart to in a long time. It'll take too long for me to explain why I love the movie that much, but in a summarization: there has never been a film that has connected to me this emotionally.

I liked Frozen for its great visuals and character dialogue.  When people enjoy something and see a gazillion other people feel the same way, of course it's gonna get overhyped, but it'll die down.  Eventually.  Maybe.

I thought everything was way too fast paced, too many songs at the beginning of the film, and the Hans is evil twist seemed to have been pull out of the writers ass and didn't feel natural. It had a lot of fun and good characters, although a lot more could have been done with them. Most of the songs were good, with the exception of the ones with the trolls/goblins/stone-people/whatever they were song. But there were too many songs at the start of the film. They should have been balanced more out. The movie is decent and introduced a new concept within Disney movies: "You can't marry somebody you just met". I think the movie is overrated and everybody has jumped on its bandwagon.

I thought it was pretty good.  It wasn't the best movie ever - Finding Nemo still hokds on to that one for me.
