April 24, 201411 yr Technology is getting ever so closer to this kind of virtual reality . I'm so happy I hope that they only allow this in very big houses that are big enough to handle this. I take a class in cyber science 1 and my cyber teacher always said that when are we ever going to break the barrier. The barrier i'm talking about is the screen that we always look at everyday. April 24, 201411 yr Author I don't want the real world as a video game. I recently was a test subject in a Games Dev Students master paper which was testing Virtual Reality, and while it's neat, it's not something I would ever go out of my way to buy Fool. I think this is bad. It probably won't be nearly as cool as they're making it out to be. Unless I can somehow speak to my favorite video game characters, I'm not interested. like it or not this is the future of gaming, the oculus rift was just like this, and now everyone is making one. so pretty soon this will be standard and we will have to buy it.

April 24, 201411 yr Author Fool. Not if it doesn't do well. people say that about mostly every thing like the oculus and now main companies like sony and Microsoft are making one.
April 24, 201411 yr like it or not this is the future of gaming, the oculus rift was just like this, and now everyone is making one. so pretty soon this will be standard and we will have to buy it. The future of gaming is pretty much 99p app like games like Candy Crush and such. If they're popular even for just a week or 2, the amount of people who download gives incredible sales for less work. And I doubt it, Google Glass is meant to be futuristic and change our way of life but fact is many people feel like a twat with that thing on their head. A lot of people also find gaming a relaxing experience and want to actually sit down with it instead of working out on it having to walk around their house. There's people who already feel stupid playing a game that uses the Wii remote where you have to raise it around to lift you sword in the front living room embarassing. Virtual Reality ideas have been attempted back in the 1980s. Back then it was thought that it would be the future of gaming too and had millions of funding in research but still flopped. Just 'cause someone's developed it with improved technology doesn't mean the entire gaming market would want to have such a thing on their head. Also who wants to just play a game where you're in your own home with things popping out? And I doubt a lot of people even interested in this are physically fit enough for the likes of a Zelda game on it, additionally large exploring games, I doubt people have the floor space do such games and walking in a circle in your house to move forward in a straight line in the game kinda detracts from the experience. Additionally such a weight on your face would cause head aches and face pain. The headset will get sweaty and uncomfortably gross if you actually get active in the game. Only "trendsetters" would be likely to pick this up who just want the latest gadget. Maybe when the technology is a much smaller, light, non-bulky pair of goggles that are basically sunglasses like this, sure. But this is just a gimmick. Another crack at trying to make the concept work, which has failed countless times in the past.

I'm not against the idea itself, it could be really cool. But I doubt hardly anybody is going to really push it's potential. Just look at the Kinect. The idea was promising, but it wasn't really as cool as we thought it would be and now Microsoft only uses it for gimmicky crap. Prove me wrong, game industry.

Another crack at trying to make the concept work, which has failed countless times in the pa if they think its embarrassing to play with the wii or the wiiu then why do people play it, no one i talk to or heard has ever said that once. and you can play sitting down we will always be able to. but time will past before you know it and this will become standard like i said. 30 years ago could any of you guess we would have what we have now, glassesless 3d games on the go, hd games, and stuff like this and if VR was dying why is it still around when i should have died with the V-boy, i mean the fate of VR was set once xbox and sony was making it for the main stream, next gen consoles theres going to be more and more of this maybe not as fast and the camera things but it will happen. and you still use a controller for this thing like the wii or those app games with gun add-ons and zelda fan would love it like Zeldablade7 it would just be like skyward sword but just in VR which isn't to far fetched. i would love KH or even sonic on this, but in the end the world will become I'm not against the idea itself, it could be really cool. But I doubt hardly anybody is going to really push it's potential. Just look at the Kinect. I dun think very many gamers want anything to do with virtual reality... people who play ouculus say they love it like i robot because(and i know i'm going to regret saying this) the government already has the tech now

How is this the "future of gaming"? That's been said often in the past, and those ideas lost popularity quickly (Remember when motion games were everywhere for a few years? Now games rarely focus on motion controls). Also, we won't "have" to buy it. People will have a choice as to whether or not they'll want to.

April 30, 201411 yr Is this like a cycle? It sometimes can repeat. I mean, Nintendo tried motion controls with the Power Glove or whatever, and that failed too. These things don't always fail, of course, but a lot of these extreme ideas have in the past. I'm personally interested in virtual reality depending on how its used, and I feel like it has a decent chance at success, but I feel like its current iteration isn't what will make it a huge success if it ever becomes one.

To tell the truth when I first looked at the video I though they where lying. I even doubted this was actually happening. I checked the website that the video had and it didn't look right to me. I still like what people are trying to do now. http://sulontechnologies.com/cortex/ Edited April 30, 201411 yr by Zeldablade7
