Have you ever noticed something similar about Eraqus and Yen Sid?Both are keyblade masters who claimed to have a sea of knowledge and wisdom,yet they make the stupidest mistakes that not even their own trainees did

 

Terra,even though he didn't lost control of the darkness and go balls to the walls against Aqua and wrecked her up,he literally dismissed Terra all because Eraqus is waaay to afraid of the darkness,heck Eraqus admitted that himself later but a little too late after he tried to MURDER BOTH OF HIS STUDENTS(Terra and Ventus the pointlesstus).Literally he did exactly what Xehanort's plan acquired him to do.

 

But oooh wait Yen Sid here takes the cake.

 

The dude knows and is FULLY AWARE that Master Xehanort was ressurected and is running loose,yet he sit an exam in which he strips both Sora and Riku of all their powers,leaving them absolutely vulnerable against Xehanort and Organization XIII

 

The result of the whole Mark of Mastery test here(which ironically is the exact same mentality of Eraqus with Terra and Aqua) makes absolutely no sense in terms of what he asked them to do and the fact it was HIS FAULT THAT HE SENT SORA RIGHT INTO ORGANIZATION XIII'S TRAP

 

The test (as stated by Yen Sid himself) is to go to the sleeping worlds,seal all the keyholes,acquire the power to unlock hearts from said keyholes and come back.Both Sora and Riku did this by the book step by step and the next portal which was supposed to lead them back to Yen Sid's tower led them to the Organization's headquarter instead

 

and before the statement of "Sora failed because he lost himself to the darkness"....BULLFREAKINSHIT!!

 

Yen Sid threw him right into Xehanort's trap as the organization planned to separate Riku from him as much as possible so they can f*** with Sora's mind and turn him into the thirteenth vessel,what exactly was Sora supposed to do in this situation(in which all the odds were against him) other than defending himself?And before you say "oh you Sora fanboy" please gimme a break I'm talking in terms of plot in general.It's Yen Sid's fault that Sora got captured by Organization XIII not Sora's fault

 

Y'know what Yen Sid and Eraqus reminds me of?the two elders of the leaf village from Naruto

 

 

Both make some of the stupidest decisions ever and other people pay the price for their dumbassery

 

Sora and Terra pretty much paid the price of their masters's mistake even though their masters were the ones who threw them into this mess in the first place

 

This is like if after Metroid Prime 3 Samus got demoted to the lowest rank possible only because of the existence of her dark dopelganger Dark Samus

 

if being a master requires the character to be absolutely stubborn and stupid.Then please Sora doesn't need this rank at all

 

He pretty much did in one year what those masters couldn't do throughout their entire life.....saving the universe(alongside almost 20 worlds).....TWICE and defeated two incarnations of the most dangerous keyblade master(Xehanort) in the universe.

 

I would've talked a little bit about Aqua here but this thread would've become more longer than it needs to be

Well that certainly backfired as it wasn't shocking but rather felt stupid to me even though I love KH3D

Well Nomura says that but then also stated Sora was always destined to wield and Aqua even sensed that when she almost gave him the ceremony but decided not to when she sensed someone gave it to Riku and didn't want this to come between the two like it did with her and Terra.Yet he still ended up wielding which just proves it was his destiny and is the only wielder to wield without the ceremony . He also, as a newborn heart, was able to rescue Ven and then did it again 4 years later . Let's face it, Metal Snake. The Mark of Mastery Exams is pretty much the Kingdom Hearts version of the Chonin Exams. Sora is pretty much the Naruto Uzumaki of the series. Because they both participated and failed their exams for stupid reasons (Naruto "failed" his exam all because of Orochimaru's attack on the villaige as well as stopping Gaara from going crazy and Sora failed his all because he fell to darkness). Heck, I don't understand why Naruto still isn't a chonin when he saved the world from Pain's wrath and the fact that he he's fighting off Madara along with Sasuke. Same about Sora.

 Actually yes he did state that they must return safely . Sora didn't even return on his own . He had to be rescued .Better go watch those cut scenes again my friend. As for it being a flaw, not really, considering that Yen Sid said they both did a great job and that Riku was chosen simply bc he could only choose one ( why that is was never stated )and Riku was the one that went above and beyond as I stated previously .He never said he failed per se.

Now that you mention it; the Mark of Mastery does seem to incite and promote a competitive nature; which I feel is a little unnecessary.

 Agreed .There is little point to it in this point in time and upcoming crisis .They really need as much skill and teamwork as possible .
