So, we've all seen the KH3 teaser trailer by now and an interview over at Kotaku confirmed that the teaser is part of the opening to Kingdom Hearts 3. We know for sure that one of the voices in that teaser is Young Master Xehanort as the voice matches up and the other voice is speculated to be Young Master Eraqus. Does this mean Kingdom Hearts 3 will start with us playing as one of the two like Kingdom Hearts 2 started with us playing as Roxas? I feel as if this would be a great way to feature the "Dive into the heart" sequence too.

 

What do you think about this theory? I personally would love to see this happen, heck - maybe Young Master Yensid could make an appearance  

That would be pretty cool. I do hope that it happens, just so I can play as YX.

I personally think YX would be playable over ME. It would be a cool Roxa's type tutorial thing for KH3 (Hopefully  shorter though!)

I think its just one of those opening quotes/monologues thing they put at the begging of stuff to get a feel of or some knowledge of the story

Starting with young Xehanort and Eraqus could help fill in back story and give a good reason to start at level one in the game. *Shrugs* not sure if that is what Square is gonna do, but it might work out if they did.

I have no problem with playing as a boy at all in fact I like playing as guys, but it's likely that some gamers will be upset. Especially Kairi fans. They would riot. Yeah. I agree. To add, I would expect Eraqus and Xehanort to be more powerful than a trainee as they already were training, and time-skipping in gameplay would be a bit complicated

 

To start of playing years before the current events would be confusing, especially for new fans. But maybe after KH3 is released, we can have more side games, and one of them could explore that time in the story. 

Inb4 Debate between the playables of Kairi or Young Xehanort/Eraqus...

I like that idea; it gives me chills. That would be so awesome. It could be like a Live Trigger or Roxas's Prelude in KH2: a recap and an excuse for level 1.

 

And for all you people saying Kairi should be instead of Xehanort: Knowing about the Keyblade war and YX and ME pasts is more important right now than what is she is doing. She is training. Great. I would rather them fill this part of the story on important things than waste time on things that are obvious. Not saying she is not important. But, just because she has a keyblade now doesn't mean," Omg let's play as her!". Plus, we can play as her later in the game when it is relevant or the right time. 

I would like to see more development for Lea and Kairi as Keyblade Wielders than to play as Erauqs and MX. It would be neat if it was in a KH2 Roxas time frame at the beginning though to be introduced to their master, but I would just really like to see Kairi and Lea have a bit more background.

Nah, they will be in some flashback during the entire game, but I don't think they will playable...

Um no thank you! Just because they're going to be in the beginning of the game doesn't mean they're going to be playable! Or even that they should be. The playable part should start where Kingdom Hearts 3D left off!
