At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear.And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going.It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

Iron

Sanya slammed into Vaefrius, who's white hot eyes glanced down then at the fiery tear in his torso. He fell to the ground, and for a moment his eyes returned to normal.

"Ha...haha....ha..." His laughing was interrupted by huge spouts of blood. "You fools.... heh.... you don't even know.... you think they are gods.... you think that some special magic you all have.... hahaha.... there's so much you don't understand.... couldn't... hahhahaha... couldn't understand."

He stared with cold, hateful eyes towards Vortimer, Griver, Emert, Sanya, Cathos, Alice, Morgan and the Doctor.

"It doesn't matter though.... because you'll all be dead!"

He raised his fist and pounded it into the ground with ridiculous force, tearing himself apart in the process, but also bursting the entire area of ground the group stood on, forcing them to tumble deep below....

When they finally hit something far below the surface the group found themselves in a eerily lit chamber with torches, somehow still lit, hanging on all the walls. There was nothing in the room besides several barren altars and a single sword set into a stone as well as a gigantic stone door on the other side of the chamber.

"Griver, Vortimer." Adriev's voice sounded within the minds of the two Kamyn. "Make your way back to the main base. We shall consult more there. I will handle this group for now."

Then in the silence of the underground chamber, where The Doctor, Alice, Cathos, Emert, Sanya, Morgan all now lay, Adriev's voice entered their mind.

"This is unexpected. I do apologize for Vaefrius's intrusion, but in the end it seems no harm was done. Welcome to the ceremonial chamber. Long ago this place was used for religious purposes of a belief system long lost... but." The hole by which they had all fallen in suddenly seemed to seal above them, leaving nothing but the ominous torchlight. "This room shall be very useful indeed. You see the only door the remains you must be opened by the ancient rite of blood sacrifice. That sword must be used on someone in this room. It need not kill, but the wound will be severe beyond repair. To progress you must  pick someone..."

Adriev left a thick silence in the room before offering his final bit of information.

"I'm here to help though, so let me give you some information. You all are well aware you endeavor has been infiltrated by spies, yes? They seek to kill you all and still my people's power. Let me be so kind as to give you the information that may prove so useful...."

"Morgan.... or The Doctor...or Cathos. One or more of these three is the spy you seek. Perhaps there in lies the answer as to who to sacrifice. Either way, I'll leave you to some talking and a very important decision...."

Silver

As the giant mechanical spider fell to the ground, defeated, the door at the end of the room finally opened.

"Counter-measures failed. High-level status confirmed. Entry allowed." The familiar voice intoned throughout the room again.

The room beyond the door was filled with newly-made bandages, fresh food including various fruits, pies, and meats of various types. The room was all white like before. There were three doors in the room; the one that connected the Silver team's room to it, another door very similar to that one, and a huge metallic door with strange symbols written on it.

It seemed safe enough and it was probably worth discovering what they might find in the room ahead.

...or who.

Gold

Taking a huge amount of damage from Cornelius's attack, and then the follow up from Amber's punch, the light figure exploded in super-headed waves, which struck anyone in the nearby area, searing them.

But as the explosion faded the exit to the cave became more clear, and now nothing stood between gold team and their destination.

Right beyond the exit to the cave lay an open grove. A good place to resupply and possibly talk a little bit after such an ordeal. In the center of the grove was a single pedestal with a button on it, waiting to be pressed after the team had perhaps relaxed a bit.

Platinum

"Ryu," Adriev's voice reached his subordinate. "For now I must ask you to retreat. You will get a chance to battle fools like this very very soon, but there is something for more interesting for them to encounter and time is of the essence."

Behind Ryu the door to the underground area opened up to the Platinum team.

Apollo, Lance, Varion, Fairy, Aya, and Sairi now faced their newest challenge.

The room beyond was all white, and was stocked with needed supplies; fresh foods like fruits or meats, and bandages and medical supplies. Besides the supplies, the room had two doors. One was a huge metal door that had symbols all over it.

The other was a now open door... to another room where three people were coming in from... Kinzoku, Tristan, and Jasper... the Silver team.

After the explosion had finished, Sandrew reverted back to his normal form and colapsed from exaustion. The fight had been too much on him, with all the last uses of his transformations and exausting it all in emotional responses and the like.

Varion:

Things just continued to get worse for them. Now they were in some different chamber, and apparently were being approached by....another one of the teams. What was this? Why this team? Varion scowled as he stumbled back up and glared at the Silver Team. He didn't know the team members that well--but at least hoped they wouldn't be an unexpected challenge. Varion glanced to his left; seeing the mass amount of supplies.

"Okay, good." He said, but then frowned. If these Kamyn were against them, then why provide these materials for them?

Emert:

The Doctor, Morgan, and the newcomer Cathos. Any one of those three could be a spy. Emert Berger was already aware of the spies' presence. It was part of the briefing he had been given. That it was possible for a few spies to sneak into the organized teams. No way of knowing who is who. No time for background checks when another hellstorm could rain down at any time. Emert held a firm belief that he could easily take them.

His first thought was Morgan. She was the least trustworthy out of the entire Iron Team. Her depsicable attitude and demeanor spoke loudly about her true alliances. But even with that, Emert wasn't so sure. Cathos was mysterious and not known to any of them, and the Doctor....well, the Judge wasn't sure what to think of him. Surely if he was such a famous scientist, his allegiance would be well-known.

Fairy was confused."All of this...is happening too fast.My head is hurting...maybe I was hit by a rock...." She looked around."At least we lived.Varion,you seem tense."She walked over to him."It's okay.Anyway,I'm going to check on the other team since I am a healer,is everyone okay with that?" She asked and opened her bag."I hope I packed it...."She muttered looking for her med kit.

Ryu heard Adreiv's voice. Now was his chance to make an important decision.

He looked to the sky and waved. "Sorry Adreiv," Ryu said. "But I'm not going anywhere," Ryu smiled at these words.

He knew it was a crime of treason, but he didn't care. "I'm joining these humans. I believe that they have a right to know what 'happened'," Ryu's voice was sharp and loud enough to reach the heavens. "So, consider this as treason punishable by death!" He shouted. The thunders roared more violent that they had been before.

Before the Platinum group continued, Ryu turned to the group. "Go ahead and don't worry about me. I'll protect you from the other Kaymn. I have my reasons and you will know them soon," Ryu said. With that, he turned away from the group and flew off.

(Plot twist~)

A single boulder fragment had smashed into the side of Apollo's head and knocked him unconscious and blown back his hood. It wasn't until he heard the sound of the opening door that he started to come to.

"Uh" He had been on sprawled out on his stomach. He used his arms to push his body up. "How.. could I let that hit me??" He spoke to himself out loud as he stood to his feet.

[Hm, probably thanks to this] He thought as he lifted his right hand to feel the enchanted blindfold. When his hand reached, his fingers met with a surprise.

"Tch!!" He let out. [A rip?? Must have been one heck of a boulder. Keyros has the highest quality items.] He thought as he felt the rip that had been made. [Guess there's no point in hiding it now..] He hooked all four fingers onto the blindfold. He was about to rip it off when he noticed the Silver Team just beyond the open door. He removed his hand and threw his hood back on.

He stepped back checking around to make sure everyone in Platinum Team was ok.

Listening to Adriev, Griver nods his head and thinks:  Understood.  Letting out a whistle and wry smile, Griver says:  "Well I must be leaving now.  If you want answers, human, you have work to do.  But I assure you they will not be easy."  Snapping his fingers, Griver starts levitating and floats up, all the way above the clouds.  Done with that, he turns to the direction of the main base and starts heading back.  While heading there, he thinks:  So much for Vaefrius.  I wanted to destroy the traitor, but oh well.

He stepped back checking around to make sure everyone in Platinum Team was ok.

"Sigh... first bowlders, now this." Lance, replied as he checked around, he then saw the corridor leading to the underground.  "Are u alright everyone? huh?" suddenly his attention changed to a new group of people, of course he had seen them before, near the door gates. "Mmm probably another team. These gods have nothing else to do but to play with us huh?" he thought while walking next to them. "Hey, so now we are together into this, huh? Name´s Lance. Nice to meet you... "

Cathos~~~~~

Cathos stared after Griver as he left. You will give me answers, he thought. Cathos had teleported to the ground during the fall, and was hardly bruised. He felt it was safe to lower his mental shield, and besides, it was beginning to strain. Anything worked by the kind could not be maintained forever. He brushed himself off with a quick mental flick and spoke. "I come seeking no power, only knowledge." He stared at the sword. He had seen this, too. Only the most prominent parts of the vision remained.

Ferro~~~~~

Ferro was almost pushed off his feet by the wave of heat the light being released, but he remained unscathed. Chips had absorbed the heat. Stowing Vell, Ferro held out his hand as Birgitte flew through the air and into his hand. "Let's go rest." he said, walking toward the grove of trees. He did not question how they could be there, inside a mountain. An explorer only saw, and accepted.

"Sigh... first bowlders, now this." Lance, replied as he checked around, he then saw the corridor leading to the underground. "

Aya nodded to Lance, a smile on her face.

"I am fine!" she said with a smile.

Sairi let himself appear from being invisible, looking at Lance and nodding.

Aya however turned to Ryu who was flying off, smiling slightly.

"Thanks Ryu." she thought.

"So, you will not be needing my aid in future?" Cornelius shot back at Amber.

The voice said he should get along better, but he ignored it. With the enemy's destruction and the way made clear, the Young Research walked over to Sandrew. He waved a hand and a gurny formed under Sandrew, raising him up.

"Well done." He said, taking the handles of the gurny and pushing it towards the exit.

"Anyone else needs a lift?" He asked.

Kinzoku walked forward, into the supply room. When she heard footsteps and people talking, she looked around. It was the Platinum Team. Instantly, Kinzoku paled. This had been the team that the curse had activated the trap on. However, they were rather cordial and polite. Did they not know? Kinzoku was slightly confused. Well, she might as well pretend to be normal. "Hey guys!" She said, her fake cheer rather convincing. "Name's Kinzoku! Pretty sweet that we're doing this together right?" She continued, her jovial energy back in action. "For the record, if you see me acting funky and with yellow eyes, you should probably knock me unconscious. You don't want to know." She said, describing her curse in a brief summary.

~~~~
The Doctor stepped next to Cathos. He had descended atop his Ciful, as opposed to falling rather ungracefully. "The question is whether you would be willing to betray others for that knowledge." The Doctor challenged Cathos. He glanced over at the girl who had just proudly volunteered her body to be sacrificed. It reminded him of the tribes in the far north. Anthropophagi lived in that area, and it was considered a great honor for a young girl to sacrifice her body to the creatures so that the rest of people could live in peace for a short time. It was tragic, but it was their culture. It was not his place to interfere. The Doctor held Cathos' eyes. "And I understand that the newcomer girl is willing to kill herself for the good of us all, but right now, I must clarify this matter. I am not the spy. Any self-respecting member of the scientific community would tell you that Doctor Pellinore Warthrop is a strange man, but one that has a sole passion. His work. The bitter squabbles of countries and their leaders do not concern me." The Doctor defended himself in a way he found adequate. The others would too, if they were sane. He glanced towards Morgan. Could she be a spy? No.... The premise was at fault from the beginning. If he were to compile his, ahem, large number of observations of the woman, they would show that she was impassioned as himself, but caught up instead in religious fervor. The fact that a faithful woman like herself might find it in herself to betray people and seek to kill them was flawed in it's very existence. That left one person. Cathos. The Doctor went back to staring the newcomer in the eye.
Jasper
"Well that was... intense." Jasper said as the door to a room full of supplise opened up. Jasper summoned his blade, stepped inside, and grabbed a tasty looking peach. He then noticed the Platinum team waking in, followed by Kinzuko's cheery introduction of herself. She was keeping her composure pretty well, but Jasper knew she was nervous. How could she not be? The strange part was, even after what she'd done to this group of people, Jasper honestly believed she only did what she did because of the curse, and he hopped the Platinum team wouldn't find out the truth. Fortunetly, there were still six of them, which meant they all survived. For now, he dicided to ignore that the whole thing had happened. "Hey there. I'm Jasper, and we're the Silver team. Well, what's left of it that is. We lost one of our team mates not too long ago." he said, glancing at Sanya's bag still slung across his shoulder. [sanya, if only we could save you...] he thought, and bit into his peach.
Amber
Even at point blank range, Amber wasn't even burnt by the figures heat waves. However, resisting the powerful blasts of heat reverted Amber back into her normal form, sent her flying backwards, causing her to twist her ankle on the way down. As she got up, she heard Cornelius's harsh comment, "I'm sorry, I just... I'm sorry." she said, regretting what she'd said. Amber then limped over to the grove, gritting her teeth to avoid crying out in pain and seeming weaker than Sandrew, and sat down in in the grove, her back against a tree.
As Vortimer heard the orders from Adriev,the one handed knight disappears with the help of his Saber that have the power of illusions that makes him as an illusion in front of the Iron Team and appears at the main base. He put his saber on his right waist and approach to the other Kamyns including Adriev." I'm sorry that I couldn't kill him..."Vortimer apologize to Adriev as he kneel down before him,even though that he knew that he was in a deep pain because of his right arm that he lost...
Cathos~~~~~
Cathos met the Doctor's gaze with a serene intensity. "I have no country or leader. But I do have this." As he spoke, his gaze became inward as a tendril of greymatter appeared and bridged the gap between his head and the Doctor's. The moment it touched, just for that moment, the Doctor could feel infinity of the Being's intelligence coming through Cathos. Just for a moment, and the tendril disappeared. Cathos's mind returned, and he spoke again. "And as for the knowledge I seek, you are all already involved in finding it. I put you in no danger by seeking it with you. And I call myself Cathos. A long time ago, in another life, I had a different name, but Cathos is the one I use now."
Slowly standing up while holding his right shoulder that was in extreme pain after using his strengthening magic Tristan noticed the platinum team "(what the, the platinum team, why do i get the really the kamyn might be plotting something again)" Slowly walking towards the Platinum team Tristan smiled "Hey names Tristan and if you excuse me I'm going to walk over to that room of supplies and pass out from extreme pain and possibly some internal bleeding actually never mind i think i'll do it here" Just then Tristan fell flat on his face out cold from an intense sensation of pain
Kamyn
Adriev frowned as he heard Ryu's words, but his expression softened when he looked towards Griver and Vortimer.
"Think nothing of your failure to eliminate Vaefrius. He was strong enough to challenge even me, and he is dead now anyway." Adriev focused on Vortimer's arm, and a swirl of magic energy coalesced around it, and after several moments it disappated to reveal a mechanical arm in place of Vortimer's lost one.
"Either way, the mission I have for you two next will be to eliminate a new traitor it would seem. The moment Ryu shows himself again, we will be there. I'm growing tired of this charade anyhow, before long I will simply destroy these humans."
Cornelius inwardly sighed at Amber's reaction to his words. Among his family, feelings came secondary to results. He was till adjusting to the idea that others didn't see it that way. It certainly made things more problematic.
The Young Researcher wheeled Sandrew out of the cave and set him down by Amber, gently dispelling the gurney till the boy was safely on the ground. He made a face like he was struggling with something.
"Good strike, anyway." Cornelius offered to Amber, somewhat awkwardly. "And if you need some help with mobility, I might be able to help."
With that, he turned away to look up at the path ahead. He was starting to worry about the team. Two were already exhausted and the team just cleared one trial. He could only hope they could rejuvenate enough for what lay ahead.
"So Ryu has gone rogue huh?"  Griver asks quickly.  He lets out a heavy sigh of disappointment from the news.  Shaking his head, Griver says:  "What a shame.  I thought he would be better than that.  I failed to deal with one traitor, but I will succeed in obliterating this one."
Slowly standing up while holding his right shoulder that was in extreme pain after using his strengthening magic Tristan noticed the platinum team "(what the, the platinum team, why do i get the really the kamyn might be plotting something again)" Slowly walking towards the Platinum team Tristan smiled "Hey names Tristan and if you excuse me I'm going to walk over to that room of supplies and pass out from extreme pain and possibly some internal bleeding actually never mind i think i'll do it here" Just then Tristan fell flat on his face out cold from an intense sensation of pain.
Fairy sighed."Can someone carry him in here? Ah,here it is!" She pulled out her med kit. She smiled. She opened it and looked inside.'What's the deal,why are we here,why can't we talk it out...?' She thought to herself. She closed it.'At least,most of the other team is here. One is cursed,another fainted. So far this is a great team. A real lovely lot. One will kill us,the others are half dead.' She yawned.
Suddenly sitting up as if to react to Fairy's words Tristan was up "i would just like to point out I am not passed out I'm just resting you recover better in your sleep so I'm just doing what i need to by the way while i think of it would someone search that dam spiders body before it gets a chance to disappear it was firing off magical like laser beams earlier so its bound to have some form of energy source within its body if we didnt accidentally break that while fighting that thing the power source in it could become a rather useful weapon to use against the Kamyn later down the road" Slowly looking towards Fairy Tristan smirked "by the way if your the healer might i ask you focus on my right shoulder everywhere else is fine I've grown accustom to the side effects of using my strengthening magic so i know the extent of the damage after using it like I did in this fight at most the damage would be some slight muscle tares near the shoulder blade and along the upper part of my right arm focusing on that area should cover me by the way I know it already introduced myself but might as well say this as well I look forward to working with you in order to take down the Kamyn and sorry if i seem like I'm coming on a bit strong and fast but i just feel a little on edge considering every second step seems to be a Kamyn trap lately"
As Ryu flew at fast speeds through the sky, he quickly observed everything that was going on so far. The separated teams were either fighting their respective battles, resting, or travelling. Ryu looked at the mountain. "The humans need to go up there," Ryu told himself.
Just then, his eyes caught something he thought look familiar. It was Vaefrius! However, Ryu wondered what's he doing here. "I can't meet with him now but in do time," Ryu said to himself.
What he needed to do was to find a way of creating a path for the humans to travel. "I'll oversee things from the sky," Ryu told himself. He sat in the sky and closed his eyes thus closing one of his senses. He knew the other Kaymn were coming for him, but he was ready. There was a reason the others called him "Ryu the Accursed".
(~Vortimer's Flashback~)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Where is... this place?)
Inside an overgrown forest where the branches block the moonlight, on a cliff where even beasts would not dare to visit after the sun sets, it found a disappearing "torch".
(What is... this?)
The "torch" was a vanishing life. Given that there were many bloodstains and palmprints on the cliff, it derived that their owner was someone who suffered severe injuries and escaped to this place.
"Haa... Haa..."
From his looks, everyone can distinguish him as a human on the first sight. He wore armor so beautiful that many would mistake him as a Holy Knight, but on his armor was the sigil of the Holy Magic.
"It's no good... here is my..."
He has dazzling silver hair and eyes comparable to the white moon, but it was impossible to identify his beauty with blood and mud smeared on his face. However, with his life vanishing, now is the time...
"What is this...?"
(Light...)
...that they could meet each other.
"Who are...you?"
(I can feel his... light.)
In front of the knight, a brilliant golden flame appears. Its size was so small that one could grasp it with a single hand, but this "agglutinated light" could emit strong light that can reach several miles away.
(I am... My name is...)
"Okay... you don't need to say it..."
He wasn't responding to a voice that could be heard. After all, the brilliant glow could not produce a sound. Nevertheless, the knight reaches out with his arm as if he was speaking with the glow.
"You... are something sacred... aren't you...? (Cough)"
Blood came out from the knight's mouth. It seems that his cracked ribs punctured his internal organs. Even so, he continued to reach out his arm.
"I beg you! I haven't revenge anything! To do something for my people..."
(I haven't done anything...)
"The mankind... this planet... should never be controlled by them!"
(Then, come with me.)
The outstretched arm and the brilliant glow intersected.
"Vortimer."
The voice pulled him back to the reality. His silver hair, dully shining, has lost its colour,leaving most of it as black of despair,and have a slightest silver on it. His eyes are green in colour, as if they are glowing even in the dark. His jet black armour reflects no light.
"I am... I see, I have been sleeping."
It seems that he was suprised that he had slept. Returning his outstretched arm to his chest, his face looked puzzled. This man is "Vortimer", a sacred Kamyn known as the "Master of Illusions",who can changes the conditions between illusions and reality.He then look at the highest mountain known as Evraius.
"It's time..."
The Black Knight of revenge moves forward to climb up the mountain,where his journey begins...
Vortimer appears at his own personal room,after apologizing Adriev for failing the mission and receive a new one as he know that Ryu,his fellow Kamyns,have become rogue.He then look at his mechanical arm,with a wondering face.
Kinzoku smiled at the others greetings, and was about to rush in to help Tristan after he fell. The. He just sat back up like nothing had happened. She giggled a little in spite of herself. It was after all, kind of funny. Then she listened to his words. "On it!" She called back to him. The Mage rushed back to the spider's body, and used her magic to dismantle it. She examined the destroyed machine. While she knew everything there was to know about metal and it's properties, electronics and other magic machines weren't her specialty. But she did see something that looked kind of like a battery. It was split in half. Kinzoku frowned. How regrettable. "Sorry Tris, it's wrecked. No good." She called back to her comrade.
The Doctor continued to glare at Cathos. Fantastic. A scholar who believed there was no knowledge beyond his grasp. Nothing better. Scholars were worthless in the Doctor's eyes. What use was the knowledge of the past if you did not work towards finding more. The Doctor turned back around, away from Cathos. He walked towards the sword, and picked it up. Weighty, didn't fit quite right in his hand. That was fine. It would still serve his purpose. Warthrop turned back towards Cathos, his eyes cold, with no emotion except for the strange backlit fire of passion he always had. "You did not answer my question. Would you be willing to betray other's trust for the sake of your knowledge?" The Doctor asked the scholar, his tone very cold. No, not cold. Practical.
Cathos~~~~~
"I didn't know I had anyone's trust, but yes, I would betray you for this knowledge. This knowledge would solve the problem you all came here to fix. Is it betrayal, then, if you are betrayed in the name of the goal you yourself uphold?" He paused to let his words sink in. "That still does not make me a spy. Although you could consider me one, since I come on behalf of another who seeks this knowledge." Cathos eyed the sword the Doctor held. Within his own mind, he made his barrier of thought.
