At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear. And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going. It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

"Thank you Judge Berger, give me but a second." The Doctor said, flipping through his book, not paying attention to much of anything else. Then he realized that there was a lot more natural light than before. He glanced around, and figured out that he hand was gone. "Well then." The Doctor muttered, standing up and brushing off his clothing. He then grasped the Judge's wrist, and helped him to his feet. Warthrop looked to find who had helped them, and saw a new person. A Kamyn. How intriguing. The Doctor was about to interact with the god... Then Alice happened. She struck him, and the Monstrumologist was certain that the Kamyn was going to destroy the ignorant girl, but instead he gave them his name, turned, and left. Of course, it was now that Alice turned apologetic. Efenton then created a large canyon between them and the next path. Fantastic. The Doctor tried to contain his anger at this turn of events, but simply could not. He burst. He began a slow clap. Torturously slow. "Bravo. Bravo, Alice, you managed to hurt and turn what is likely the only friendly Kamyn against us. You caused a literal rift between us." He continued, his tone full of disapproval and distaste, gesturing towards the canyon between the team and Efenton. Warthrop sighed, exasperated by this show of stupidity, recklessness, and impulsiveness. The Doctor turned away from the girl, and wandered over to the body of the Vivo Lapis. He grumbled to himself, scribbling down notes in his notebook. He'd calm down in a little, but first he needed some first-hand notes on the creature before they left and he'd have to rely solely on his photographic memory.

"Ooh, calm your ears. I already knew there was danger inside! I'm not sure if you remember, but we're on Evraius, the most dangerous mountain in the world. Of course there's danger in this random house that opened it's door for us." Kinzoku cried indignantly, fussing over Sanya's grasp of her. She eventually escaped and walked a few steps away. She took out a bar of titanium, and created a large shield out of it. Kinzoku walked back over to the door. "Are you happy now? I'm being a bit more obvious now." The Mage said, showing off her protection. She then walked through the doorway. She took a few steps in, and could no longer resist the temptation to look. She poked her head around the edge of the shield, and looked around the house, and saw...

"Our mission will prove to be unsuccessful after all, won't it?" Morgan glared at the rest of her team--Alice, in particular. "Do you all resort to violence this early on? If we come across as a threat in any way, the Kamyn will end us in a heartbeat. For you battle-freaks to comprehend, consider this more so divide and conquer than search and destroy. We have to use our minds in this matter." She basically began to scold the rest of her team, deliberately not taking a part in the family. She looked straight through the fissure in the mountain the Kamyn had created. "He alone can overpower us, likely. He was holding back greatly." She gazed upward into the Kamyn's eyes as he departed but said nothing. She was perfectly capable of closing the gap in the mountain once he had left."Of all people, I get the vibe that the Doctor here actually has a brain. That's disappointing. I guess a judge is far too used to not being able to follow his own mind, hm? And the girl is a mere naive brat. Pull it all together, so we can proceed with what is keeping our entire existence at stake. Do we all reach an assent on the matter?"

Efenton looked over the other side of the uncrossable canyon to the group and sat down, eyeing them like the doctor in the group. Was he too cruel? He felt a bit...sorry(?) for the girl.... What should he do? He couldn't just let them pass. But his father and the others always wanted fresh meat... He started to raise his hand in thought... What would they say? What would he do if he went throughout with it? He did believe in peace... Or was he just fooling himself?

Vortimer had grabbed and ridden away with the orb, but not after Fairy's interaction with it had yielded some results. The moment she touched it a projection appeared above it, showing a huge schematic for some sort of structure. It was gigantic from the looks of it, with many rooms and a huge chamber in the center of it's structure. It looked neither like a building nor a natural formation. It was long and oddly shaped. Once Vortimer held it, though, the projection dissipated and was fully gone as he rode away.

A ways further up the mountain the group could see a ramshackle shed with a rotten wooden sign stating "Supplies". Within the shed were various bandages and several jars of preserved fruits. An odd place for a supply shed... but it didn't look dangerous, and would make a good resting point after the recent battle to resupply and get their bearings.

Silver

(Sorry about not updating sooner for you guys, I scanned through posts the last time to see who was moving the plot further to update it and missed several of your key posts, won't happen again.))

As Sanya breathed in all she could smell was... ash.

Looking around the house, Kinzoku would only have been able to note how barren it looked. There were two rooms; the one she was in with a kitchen and a small table, as well as a fireplace on the wall to her right and another room through an archway on the other end of the room she stood in. The Fireplace was filled with ash, but still seemed to be burning unnaturally somehow. It was the envelope on the table, however, that was the most curious thing abut the room. The envelope was crimson colored, with various magical symbols on it. Written in very imperfect handwriting, aged several decades by the looks of it, was just the phrase "Ensure nobody is outside house when opening."

Kiekre's legacy was about to be discovered.

Iron

Adriev's voice reached Efenton as he stood looking at the Iron team.

"Do not be so quick to stop these fools. They have entered our domain and their fate is sealed already. It is rare that we get such fascinating subject to toy with, so if they intrigue you, feel free to allow them to pass. this is only the beginning my son."

Gold

More and more little lights seemed to shine fro within the cave. Little beacons in the darkness. What were they, and why were they here?

There was only one way for Gold team to find out.

Ferro stopped the group before the mouth of the cave, eyes narrow as he peered at the lights. "They're so pretty!" Chips exclaimed. Ferro took out Vell and fired a shot into the cave. The bolt of white flame lit up the area, but didn't reveal much of anything. As the darkness resumed, the floating lights came back into view. "I guess we have no choice but to press on." Ferro switched Vell for Birgitte and started leading the group into the cave. The light of the hot blades did little to dispell the darkness. . .

His father gave the okay.... So he guessed it would be fine....the canyon closed, as the earth rumbled.... He stood up, and outstretched his hand. "I will guide you.... " he shoed no want of trickery or confrontation.

Varion:

"Huh." Varion said, somewhat surprised. "Well, Fairy, good job."

He was very surprised, actually. The one who seemed and claimed to be the most passive amongst them was the one who managed to figure out how to deal with the Kamyn. At least it seemed that their own group was a bit more....friendly towards one another than the other groups. But that was just by appearances.

Varion walked over to Fairy and patted her shoulder, "Congrats."

Emert:

The Judge gave Morgan a long glare as he took off his helmet, "Yes, because we should completely trust the beings who destroy and raze entire towns and cities for no reason at all. These beings have shown us already that they are against us. They are, after all, Gods. To them, we are mere insects. Do not compare me to any fool. I did nothing against this Kamyn--I was trying to ensure that both I and the Doctor survived the Golem's hand. By the time I realized that Kamyn had come--he was already gone. However, I did not see you do much of any sort to aid the Doctor or I, much less try and actually talk it out with the Kamyn, like you say."

Efenton sighed and looked at the judge. "You must trust me. You will wander and die otherwise, like the rest of them." He sat down on a rock. "I will leave you to your choices..." He sighed.

Alice wanted nothing more than to beat the heck out of Morgen for calling her a brat. But somehow she managed to calm herself. She then looked at the Kamyn. "I have only one question to know if you can be trusted. Why did your kind create an earthquake four years ago? What made you Kamyns attack us humans? Why did you kill my brother?!?!" Alice asked the Kamyn out of anger and hate.

"Agreed." Cornelius said, following Ferro into the cave.

Just inside the cave, The Young Researcher stopped and closed his eyes. Five glowing pure white bats appeared on the ceiling above him. Opening his eyes, revealing they were glowing with the same light, Cornelius waved a hand, sending his constructs into flight. The hard light bats flew around the cave, squeaking as they went, trying to illuminate the cave more.

"We do things..." He looked at her, feeling all of her emotions. "We do things... Because...." He wanted to tell her about the cycle... But humanity would never understand. "Because humanity has failed us before..." He got up, looking at the group before... "I will tell you about the cycle on the way... The story no one has heard about us..."

"Agreed." Cornelius said, following Ferro into the cave.Just inside the cave, The Young Researcher stopped and closed his eyes. Five glowing pure white bats appeared on the ceiling above him. Drale follows Cornelius as he enters the cave. "Normally, I can see in the dark, But not now. Curious." Drale then looked around the cave, trying to make out what was in there.

Sanya frowned. Ash.

"All I smell is ash. And not the ketchup type." She said, before turning back to cat mode to scan. Empty, save the envelope. Frowning, Sanya read the front.

"Kinzoku, I'll make sure everyone is inside." She said calmly. With her fast reflexes she was out, and herded the others in quickly.

Doing a final scan around, she closed the door, ensueing everyone would stay inside.

"Okay Kinzoku...open the letter." She said, still in cat form.

"Agreed." Cornelius said, following Ferro into the cave.Just inside the cave, The Young Researcher stopped and closed his eyes. Five glowing pure white bats appeared on the ceiling above him. Sandrew wanted to take the moment to escape that he could, but when he looked over to the wall between, it was high, quite high. "If I fall from there..." He muttered, cringing. "I'm going to die either way... I would rather go where everyone else is, so I at least have someone protect me..." Sandrew muttered, running up to the rest of the group. He stayed quiet and stayed out of the way best he could.

"What's all this talk of dying, child? You sound like Vell on a rainy day." Birgitte scolded. "Now I don't want to hear another word like it from your mouth, young man, you hear?" Ferro waked over to Sandrew. Crouching so he would be at eye level, Ferro looked him in the eyes. "That smoke cloud isn't all you can do, is it? You are stronger than you imagine yourself to be. You just need to find your courage." Ferro got a sad smile on his face. "So many years ago, I was like you. I couldn't do anything without my mother with me. And then she wasn't there anymore, and I had to find my own way. You will find your way, too." Ferro rumpled Sandrew's hair as he stood up.

"...I'm not a kid, y'know... Just cause I'm short..." He muttered. "I'm actually eighteen..." Sandrew whispered, putting his weapons away on his back. "I hate to be treated like a kid..." He thought, keeping with the group.

Apollo replaced his bow and arrow and walked towards Varion, Fairy, Aya, And Sairi.

[Do you see, Father?? You were right] He thought as he approached them. He stopped about ten feet away

"You did well, Fairy" He told her sincerily the. Looked at the others. "You all did well."I'm quite pleased that we were all placed on the same team. It seems we were meant to make This journey together." He may have been getting carried away, but they had met a kamyn and survived. He knew they could do it, he knew they would

"I think we should head on, there seems to be a small supply station a little ways up. Although it looks a little run down"

Amber

Before long, Amber alone stood outside of the cave. A part of her wanted to wait a minute before going in and let the others deal with whatever was in there, but that would be the path of a coward, a path she had renounced when she volunteered for this mission. Besides, it was dark in there, and darkness was her specialty. "Hey, wait up guys!" she said, and followed the others into the cave.

Jasper

"Sheesh, watch it lady!" and irritated Jasper said to Sanya. "I've got two legs, you know, and I'd be happy to use them." Jasper then turned toward Kinzoku, and waited for her to open the envelope.
