So who is writing Kingdom Hearts III's scenario?

Posted

We've obviously got our directors, producers and composer but what about the scenario writer/s?

Daisuke Watanabe is the obvious choice having worked on nearly every entry in the series, however he did not work on Kingdom Hearts 3D. List of his work.

Masaru Oka is the Osaka team's head writer and worked on recent titles including Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 3D.

Kazushige Nojima is a freelancer, he wrote the scenario for the first two games and is writing for FINAL FANTASY XV. He killed Tidus in FINAL FANTASY X-2.5, he might try to do it again.... list of his work.

Jun Akiyama is an unlikely but possible choice having worked on the first game and was thanked in the second game. He's an event planning director on FFXV. List of his work.

Daisuke Watanabe, Masaru Oka....

Kazushige Nojima killed Tidus?

Cool.

But in all honesty, I'd like either Jun Akiyama or Masaru Oka, but it'll probably be Daisuke Watanabe with the job.

Well, since Daisuke has worked on almost all the KH games, it makes sense for him to be the one to write the scenario. :)

All four of them

But seriously. I have no idea.

Maybe Masaru Oka and Daisuke Watanabe could be teaming up together to write the scenario and bring in components from their scenarios from other works. But if I had to choose one main scenario write for KH3, it would have to be Masaru Oka. I just think the scenarios for KH3D and Birth by Sleep were very emotional and left a huge impression on the KH series; not saying the others did not as well, just those two really helped answer some questions and give light to the future games of the KH series.

Dasiuke Watanabe Definitely mate.

Birth by Sleep writer(s) would be nice.

I thought Nomura wrote the story???

What, is he only a designer/planner and that's where it ends? Or does he let someone else write it while he gets the final say/approval?

Nomura works on the story, but he doesn't write the scenario.

What's the difference? I thought that's pretty much the same thing

There's also event planning. They work closely together but they're different.

oooh, so the scenario is a dialogue? I thought it was the story itself lol
